They steal your money under the guise of fraud. Don't trust them with your money. I am out over $8000.00 and I see nothing in the future. I threatened with a lawyer and they don't care. They have plenty of lawyers. I even emailed the CEO and it got worse.

Citibank Simple Checking Reviews
I been with Citibank for two years they're one of the best banks I had ever, they are always there to assist and help with any errors, security concerns. Always happy with the outcome if I have an issue never had a problem. I'd recommend Citibank to everyone they will help you figure out what is best for your lifestyle, income and preference. Thanks Citibank.
I've had a Citibank Simple Checking account for 15 years and have never once had an issue. When life fell apart during the recession and overdraft fees started hitting my account during a brief time of unemployment, they were extremely helpful and worked with me. Because of that, I have stayed with them all these years. Customer service is always top notch and I have nothing negative to say.
You know what I am 100 % disabled and have had my identity stolen 5 times and scammed out of thousands of dollars I reach out for help and get judged instead so I fought for my what is now miserable life to live in a world of selfishness creed rudeness and last but not least judgement oh I all most forget gutless because if I have something to say I come right out and say it with no fear and with pride knowing when I do leave this hatred filled universe and move to better things I know where I am going because I have been forgiven the people that commit the sins above should pray now or they will be floating in lingo because they were so self cosumed and downing other humans that not a thought went through a tiny little brain of what if!!!! So thanks I need no help from self consumed rich POS's such as yourself and your company's help I will do this on my own and with this being said I have a 130 family members and friends and skills of texting so keep judging and losing business I have never done anything to you or any bank for that matter my name was used but it wasn't me
Horrible company! Allows contractors to commit blatant fraud, drags the dispute on for 90 days, and then sides with the contractor who has OBVIOUSLY submitted fake "evidence". Doing all of this while continuously asking for more documentation, that has absolutely nothing to do with the case. How is a person suppose to get a "refund authorization" from someone who is a scam artist?!?!? That makes absolutely zero sense. Way to be incompetent. My dog has more common sense than your "investigators".
Citibank's Basic Banking Checking account is pretty good in some ways but there are a few downsides.
On the upside, you can sign up online and there's no minimum balance required. That's pretty convenient, most banks you need to sign up for in person. They provide good services otherwise as well, this is a great checking account/bank for someone just starting out.
There is a monthly fee though you need to be careful of. You can avoid it with a large enough balance in your account but this can be difficult if you're a student or have a lower income.
Overall, it's a pretty good checking account with some unique convenience features, I'd recommend giving it a look.
Recently I just opened a new checking account with CitiBank. I am very happy with it for a number of reasons. I was able to set it up online and the best part was I did not have to make an initial deposit. The customer support through the process was phenomenal and I would highly recommend Citi to anyone!
While Citibank will usually keep your money safe, if something goes wrong, you're all but out of luck. There was a breach in my account once and the person who got my info used my balance to purchase a lot of things online. I contacted Citibank about this, and they didn't lock my account down until some time after I called them and took weeks to get me my money back. I'd use caution if you're planning on getting an account here.
Unfortunately I had a very negative experience with Citibank basic checking and I was forced to change banks and cancel my account briefly after opening it. Within the second month of owning an account I was charged 60 dollars in miscellaneous fees. I no longer trust Citibank and I would advise anybody looking into doing business with them to do their homework and check their statement.
I had heard some negative stuff about Citibank before. I chose them due to their proximity to my office as well as my home. About 3 months following the opening of my checking account, I fell victim to fraud. I believe it was attributed to the Target hack. Citibank responded swiftly and in a way that gave me supreme confidence in their customer support. Very pleased with their service and response time. I had previously experienced this sort of incident with other banks (specifically Wells Fargo) and I had been left without a debit card for two weeks! This was not acceptable. CitiBank provided me instantly with a temporary debit card and I received my new permanent card in 3 days!
I opened a Citibank account a while back and for the most part, I was happy with the products and services offered. The cash back and frequent flyer miles on the debit card were neat too. However, I had the one and only case of identity theft I've experienced so far (knock on wood) while banking with this company and when it came to resolving a fraudulent check that had passed through my account, I found them to be sadly lacking. First of all, every person I talked to during the process sounded like they were outsourced employees in India. Secondly, despite the fact that the check had clearly a bogus signature and had been cashed nearly 1,500 miles from where I was living. I had to pay nearly $400 in overdraft and fees and getting reimbursed took almost half a year. I closed out my account after paying off the negative balance and I am certain that I was not reimbursed the overdraft charges that were imposed on my account.
I have been using Citibank Basic Checking for six months. The main reason to enroll was the capability to transfer money internationally, which means if a person has a Citibank account in another country, then he/she is able to transfer money between the US account and the other account outside the US. Citibank Basic Checking has a very good web interface that is organized and easy to use. Also the customer service is very responsive and professional. It is available any time during the day. The main disadvantage is the high ten-dollar monthly fees. Overall, I like Citibank Basic Checking and recommend it as long as a person is able to afford its monthly fees.
Today i am writing about Citibank Basic Checking to give my opinion of their service and what they offer. They are one of the earlier Checking accounts i had and i could easily say i was satisfied with the service they offered. The monthly fee while low was a bit to take in because the previous account i had before that was free and only charged me overdraft fees. But thankfully the fee is easily waived.Their customer service is up to standards but i have had better service. In conclusion i would give them a four their is no issues and they meet most standards.
I'm definitely a big fan of Citibank. I live in New York City and there are plenty of local branches which makes managing my account quite convenient. I have the Basic Checking and I like it because my account has no monthly fee. I had to setup direct deposit and bill pay in order to quality for this perk but I would have done that anyways so it's a good fit. Also, I still use a lot of checks and Citibank offers unlimited check writing, which is very usual for me. I think their phone customer service is a little slow which is why I gave them 4 stars but since I do most of my banking online, I've stayed with the bank. I wish I could somehow avoid the overdraft fee but I guess that is normal for most regular checking accounts. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my experience with Citibank.
I have been with Citibank for about a year now and I am totally satisfied with everything overall. I have always been treated great when I come into the bank to make a deposit or withdrawal. One time I was trying to deposit $500 into the atm and everything got stuck and I had to leave the atm without the process finishing all the way. The machine was just froze. When I got home I called Citibank and explained my whole ordeal to them and they immediately credited my account until they found the problem which was a faulty atm machine. Every time I have dealt with anyone from Citibank they always seem to help me out in one way or another. I would recommend them to anyone.
