I've been very happy with this account so far. I pay no fees so long as I make at least one deposit during the course of a month, which can be a very low amount, like a dollar. I haven't had any issues with fees, either, due to my overdraft protection. I've had this account for seven years and I'm still very pleased with it.

I had this account until I realized how much money it was actually costing me. The balance dropped below the minimum and I was charged a fee so I called the bank to see if I could get it reversed(I had this account for over five years without dropping below the balance) so I said I wanted to close the account. I was told that, if I took all the money out of the account, it would be considered closed. So I did. The next month, I got a letter(machine-generated) saying my account was overdrawn by the amount of the service fee minus five cents. So when I went to close my account, they had left 5 cents in the account, leaving it open. I went to the bank and they told me I had to pay the negative balance before I could close the account and, if I refused, it would negatively affect my credit score. I ended up paying just to get this over and done with. Sadly, this is not even the worst experience I have had with a bank.

I have had a Citizen's bank checking account since I was 16. I have had little issues, because I use my debit card more than 5 times per month, which is the minimum amount of times unless you want a 10$ fee monthly. I have been subject to fraud in the past on my debit card, and that was a very frustrating time. The money came right out of my checking account and the process to get my money back took over a week. Citizen's was helpful, but it was still longer than I thought and it was a really rough week with bills. All in all, the interest rate doesn't really help you out, but at least it's something.

I like my Citizen's Bank account. They have always been very easy to work with, and the people who work in my bank office are courteous and respectful. They appear to be professionals (which I highly appreciate). There's nothing like handing your money over to a bunch of poorly dressed, illiterate tellers. Problem resolution has been quick and hassle free. In fact, I was locked out of my account for expected fraudulent activity and they were willing to send me a new card next day so I didn't have to wait to access my account. Great job Citizens!!

I have never had any problem with my Citizens Bank account. There is always great Customer Service from the tellers whenever I have questions/concerns. I love the online banking option which lets me get my banking information on the go. Citizens Bank is convenient and quick for my banking needs. I love that the bank does not charge me extra fees whenever I need to use an ATM. I would highly recommend Citizens Bank to anyone looking to open a new checking account.

I have been using Citizens Bank Free Personal Checking the past 9 years and am so so about the bank and online system altogether. Sometimes I am treated friendly at the bank while other times I am treated like a burden. I tend to only go to bank when I have to because I do a majority of my bill pays online and try to limit my trips to bank to once a week. I would probably go to the bank more often if all the tellers were kind and courteous.

They online checking is highly usable and efficient in paying my bills on time. The only thing I do not like is the high overdraft fees. I ended up getting roughly 100 dollars of overdraft fees over simple overdrafts of less than a dollar. They would not work with me at all. This is why I feel so so about Citizens Bank altogether.

I have been using Citizens Bank Personal Checking with Interest for about five years. I find the account to be easy to use and the bank is responsive to any issues that might arise. I once had a check that was lost in a plane crash and the bank sent me an image of the check for my records, The interest rate is not great, but nobody's is these days. The online banking is very nicely designed and easy to use. Of the banks I use for checking, Citizens is the best and easiest.

We had terrible customer service at our local Citizens Bank. The manager hardly knew his business and was frusterating to try and deal with. We canceled our checking account, but apparently that was forgotten because months later we were told that we owed over $100 in fees for not keeping up the minimum amount. After going through several people we were able to have the fees canceled and hoped our account was finally canceled. We have much better service at a locally run bank. Interest we received was pitiful compared to the service we got. Never returning to this bank!
