My wife and I were with Wells Fargo for a few years and had the Premier Checking account. I thought over all the account was mediocre. The interest they paid on it was lousy. They do have a ton of locations which is very nice and convenient. Overall, they were pretty easy to work with once you got through all the up selling and additional items they wanted to tack on to your accounts. This was the main reason we switched to a credit union as we just needed basic banking as we keep our investments in other places and we were always being contacted for different products.

Wells Fargo PMA Package Reviews
I used to bank at Wells Fargo - was always sold on and loved the fact that Wells Fargo has been in banking for years and knows what they're doing. Their logo, the Wells Fargo wagon, delivering money on the frontier, made me feel comfortable in banking with them. So when getting their Premier Checking Account set up, I though that the value of this account would be similar to other banks, if not significantly better. What I realized though over time is that the whole account is packed with high fees, requirements, and low returns. You need to keep a high minimum balance to avoid a fee, which essentially locks up a significant amount of money. The interest rate is significantly lower than other options - e.g. a money market account with check writing privileges can be found right now with an interest rate of 1%, Wells Fargo pays .01%. And, if you overdraft, there is a $35 fee. Honestly stressed me out too much. Switched to another checking account option.
This Wells Fargo Premier Checking Account has been quite good. Since I've changed from my old checking account I've been nothing but satisfied with the account. The customer service is quick and pain free unlike most banking experiences. The interest rate is average but it suffices for a checking account. The contract is cut and dry; you understand from day one what will and will not be charged to your account and when you think something is unfair its very easy to call Wells Fargo and figure out if you are eligible for a refund.
I was a Wells Fargo customer very briefly. I quickly closed my account after being fed up with the constant up-selling. It doesn’t matter if you’re at the drive up teller, in a branch, or on the phone, I have never been able to do any banking business without them trying to add a service, credit card, etc. Very annoying! If you can get past that or you have a ton of patience, their services might be good but I never got that far. Tellers seemed friendly enough, however the agents answering their customer service line have been pretty rude to me. I’d skip big banks all together and go to a Credit Union!
wells fargo pma has a great checking account. One of the best things about this account is the great interest rate. This encourages me to always keep as much money as I can in this account. Another great benefit about this checking account is that there is no monthly fee for this account, which is always great. Overall if you are looking for a great bank to keep your money this is a must have account.
I've been a Wells Fargo customer for over 20 years, and am very satisfied with them. I like the PMA account for a number of reasons, although the minimum balance required to avoid service charge is high. I live part-time in Mexico and I love Wells Fargo's Express Send service where I can send myself money directly to my Mexican bank account (or to someone else's account, or in cash for someone to pick up at a local bank). With the PMA account I pay a reduced fee for this service, and in addition, I have two free ATM withdrawals a month (in Mexico) with this account. There are times when I end up paying the monthly service charge because I don't keep the minimum balance, but overall, it balances out because of the savings on Express Send and ATM fees. Wells Fargo customer service in general has always been fairly good, although they seem to have a lot of turnover at individual bank branches.
I've been a Wells Fargo member for a very long time. My parents went in with me to open my first bank account with them when I was in high school. I've had no problems whatsoever with this bank account, I have several under my name. I regularly check my account balance online which is incredibly simple to use and your history of charges is easy to follow. The interest in your savings account is laughable, but most banks basic savings are. I've had no problems with any kind of hidden fee or an overdraft, minimum account balance, etc. The only thing I dislike is how their online service keeps on wanting you to apply for their online services before you view your account. It can get annoying at times. Otherwise, I've had nothing but a good experience with Wells Fargo.
I've been with Wells Fargo for 18 years. I joke that they "own" my life. I've had 3 car loans through them, my mortgage, a brokerage account, and even student loans.
They've always been excellent in customer service and willing to go the extra mile for customers. Years ago, a $24,000 check bounced against my $500 account balance. The woman from my local branch called me right away and we discovered that the check had been entered incorrectly by 1 number. While that may not seem like a big deal, most other banks would freeze your account right away and you'd spend days untangling the mixup. Not with Wells Fargo-- it was resolved within 2 hours.
I love that I can make mobile deposits, email ATM receipts to myself instead of wasting paper, pay with my Apple Pay, etc..
I have had this checking account for 11 years, and I've been very happy with it. The account earns a tiny bit of interest (.01% for me because I don't keep much of a balance in the account.) I hardly make anything in interest, but it's still nice to know that I am earning something, which is better than earning nothing. I love the web access to the account. I can access my transactions, statements and balance at any time of the day or night. It's super easy to transfer money between my checking account and savings account online. Wells Fargo has many locations, making it really convenient for me to hit the ATM with my debit card for quick cash or to check my balance while out and about.
My wells fargo checking account is great! I can deposit checks from my smart phone, I can deposit checks and cash – multiple bills at one – at a wells fargo automated teller machine, and I never have to worry about burglars of any kind uncovering the secret stash of cash I used to keep hidden away under my mattress! I can take money out of an atm at any one of their convenient locations, I got this awesome shiny visa debit card, and I can check my balance, statement, and purchase history online!
After 2 years with Wells Fargo and this checking account, I can say officially it is the best setup I have ever had at a financial institution. I am never charged unless I use the teller, but even those fees are waived when the mistake is on Wells or my employer. Use of Direct Deposit in relation to my employer having Wells as a bank is truly incredible..the ease of access makes me really appreciative of this bank.
I have had this type of checking account for ten years. I had moved from an area and had always been a member of a local credit union and could no longer use the credit union for logistical reasons. We were offered this type of bank account through my husbands job and while I was nervous about it, I could not be happier. I am always treated with a lot of respect, I don't get sales calls in which people try to sell me things. When I visit a branch the reps always remind me of the perks with the account so I can make the most of it. Very happy!
I enjoyed my free account with Wells Fargo, but I enjoyed the Premier Checking account even more after I upgraded. I enjoy many features such as unlimited transfers into my savings account, which really does help me with managing my money. While you do pay a monthly fee, I do think that it is worth upgrading for the extra features and benefits.
I think that with wells fargo they are very helpful. They also make sure that your always covered. If you go over on your checking account they will cover up to 300 if dont have the funds which is really useful. But the people are friendly and understand and care.
I was upgraded from a standard checking account to premier once I ascertained a great promotional opportunity with my current job. There are certain things that they went over with me about this type of checking rather than other types such as unlimited transfers to savings. When I walk into the bank and they pull that information up I am treated with the utmost respect. The teller spends more time with you, and they assist you more than other customers. They offer you things that they wouldn't offer standard customers.
When I had a standard checking I didn't like the fees, and when more money rolled in they upgraded my account. The only thing I do not like about it is the balance you must keep in the account. For me, I must keep $1500 in checking, or I will succumb to fees. My friend used to work at Wells Fargo, and he told me that when your name pops on the screen there is a signal that shows if your premier or not. Overall I have had a great experience with it
Wells Fargo was the first company I ever banked with, and I am still with them to this day, mostly for the sake of habit and convenience - the interest my account earns is hardly worth counting. They waive my monthly fee because of my the minimum balance that I maintain. Additionally, they automatically transfer funds from my checking into my savings, which is a feature that I appreciate because it saves me time and reduces the number of financial chores I have each month. I particularly enjoy the online banking function - it saves me a great deal of time, and allows me to access my account information any time, anywhere.
I've been with Wells Fargo for 20 years, and about 10 years ago they offered to convert my checking account into the PMA account, which would give me more benefits and options to work with, as well as take away checking account fees so long as I maintained a minimum balance. Having the PMA status to my checking account also has helped me to receive escalated customer service, as they apparently value PMA customers over standard customers. This account has not come back to bite me in the behind, and the zero fees (so long as I have the balance) has always been helpful - also the PMA status helped me to get an equity line from Wells Fargo when I needed it.
I have had the Wells Fargo PMA Premier Checking Account for several years. There are pros and cons to any checking account, but I have been reasonably satisfied. Having PMA status serves well when contacting Wells Fargo for other services, and grants the customer a certain degree of leeway. Having said that, the monthly fee can be very steep if you do not have the minimum balance to avoid it. After opening a business, I've found it very difficult to get back up to the minimum balance, and I've been paying the fee for some time now.
I have had my Wells Fargo checking account for more than 6 years and always haven been satisfied with the card and their service. I have a student account, which doesn’t have any fee’s, which is great, but recently I started getting fee’s applied to my account. I called the call center and the associate told me that I don’t qualify for the student account anymore, so they can’t offer the same deal to me anymore. After a long conversation back and forth with their supervisor, they were able to cancel the changes that were made to my account. The most upsetting during this process was that my account was changed without my knowledge and if I didn’t notice the fee’s they would keep charging me.
I have previously had issues with Wells Fargo, and illegal overdraft protection practices. In the last few months I have noted, and called Wells Fargo on this. Currently if you have a balance and two items will come through their policy is to push through the largest charge first in hopes of catching multiple overdraft fees. This is instead of pushing the smaller charge through which would allow for less fees to be incurred.
with my wells fargo account i have never had a issue because it is my primary bank. i love this bank, i love the fact that i have direct deposit, with my bank, and also i have my most important investment in wells which is my MORTGAGE and i really love the online banking and how easy it is to use and transfer money when needed. Wells fargo will always be my primary bank, I will never change it.
I have used Wells for approximately 5 years. Customer service has always been willing to discuss and help fix any issues I have encountered during that time. Never had any issues with hidden fees or charges, which is uncommon compared to other banks I have used. My satisfaction with their customer service for my checking account led to me opening up additional accounts with WF, all of which have my needs.
I have banked with Wells Fargo since 2002. I started as a college student. I had almost nothing to my name. I was always treated with respect. Now that I am a professional with substantial business to bring to Wells Fargo, I am still treated the same way. I have been into several different branches across the country, with good experiences every time. I bought two cars using Wells Fargo car loans with no problems.
There are definitely positive benefits with the Wells Fargo Premier account. You get interest, and the tellers are a little more apt to help when needed. However, I've been noticing lately that my Visa associate with my account has been frozen more and more frequently for "suspicious" activity, yet the activity is always normal and my own. It's a hassle to have to call them constantly to get this resolved.
I have used Wells Fargo for more years than I can remember. They used to not charge for International ATM usage, which is very important if you travel or visit other countries often. After the 2008 Financial Crisis they started to charge this fee as well as others. But I guess they all raised their fee's after getting bailed out...
