Good for nothing. Due to the fact that you have incompetent employees in Clifton Park who gave my Mom false information regarding an auto loan after my dad died, her car was repossessed. This was her only transportation to and from chemotherapy, radiation and Dr appointments. Maybe you people should teach your tellers that if they don't know the answer to a question they should ask someone who knows what the they're doing. Refusing to release her survivor benefits check was also a stupid move, and very illegal. Her attorney was caught off guard when he heard that today. If I could give your disgrace of a bank negative stars I would. Thanks a lot though for screwing my Mom over. To say I despise your bank and tellers would be an understatement.

I had a motorcycle loan with SEFCU and now live out of state. I am selling the bike and needed to pay off the loan and get a Lien Release. I sent a check and they placed a 10 day hold on the money even thought the transaction was cleared in just 2 days....this caused a delay in getting the loan paid and the release. I contacted them and explained the situation the person I spoke to said they would expedite the release, they failed to do so. I then called again explaining my buyer gave me a deadline to have the release. They said they would overnight the release.....I am still waiting 5 days later. I lost my buyer, had to reimburse him his deposit by depleting my own savings. I now have to find a new buyer. SEFCU has become too big, they no longer care about their customers. I have been a customer with them for DECADES and cannot get a simple thing like a Lien release sent om a timely manner. THEY SUCK.

I applied for a car loan, and I own my home outright. The officer said he was unable to give me the lowest interest rate because I show no mortgage payment in my credit history. When I pointed out that I own my home outright, he put a $660 "mortgage payment" on the disclosure and said that was the only way he would approve the loan. I've been a member of SEFCU since 1983 and have a 700+ credit rating. When I applied for a personal loan to close out a credit card, another loan officer said that they couldn't establish any kind of real estate transaction history for me and would not give me the full amount of the loan I requested, even after I, ONCE AGAIN, explained that I've owned my home outright since 2003. Makes zero sense. This place used to be really awesome, but even the phone customer service is a minimum 37-minute wait for a representative now. I'm looking to bank elsewhere.

Horrible experience so far trying to get an auto advantage loan. Confusing. Dealing with multiple people. They are not clear on the specifics. (i.e. sending you and email saying you are approved for "x" amount. When you go to use it, saying it was not a "final" approval. Then the payment calculation in higher than their calculator. (even when you use a VIN # and you supposed approval amount. Also, called and left a message for car buying service. Radio silence! It's hard to get through and the message they ask you to leave was ignored. Called a week ago! AWFUL all the way around.

In 2012 I secured three loans with SEFCU. Two personal loans and a car loan. Three years later I lost my job and although I was able to keep paying the car payment and one of the loans I became behind on one of the personal loans. SEFCU took the payments from my savings account for two months but on the 3rd month I was $12.64 cents short. So SEFCU REPOSSESSED MY CAR with ZERO notice other than a vague collection notice that never once stated they would repossess the car. They stated a tiny clause in the paperwork that states if another loan goes into default they can take the car as collateral. It doesn't say that on the car loan paperwork but in the fine print (and legally worded) personal loan. It was a nightmare! I got the car back within hours but I was still charged a fee of $650 (more than the original personal loan!) and they reported the repossession to all three credit bureaus. After numerous calls and letters to branches, corporate offices and Presidents I was told "too bad....we can't help you". It was unbelievable! I've been paying for that $12.64 shortage for 6 years now...another year to go. My credit was shot with the repo on the record. STAY CLEAR OF SEFCU AT ALL COSTS!!

The loan officer was very helpful. She made the process extremely easy. The finance charges and payments were right where I could afford them.

Please do "guarantee" individuals things. I applied for a refinance loan because I am paying a ridiculous amount of interest from another bank. I decided to apply for this loan being that my credit is finally back to fair and hoping to get lower interest. First time I applied, the loan was denied because my debt to income ratio was too high, which I understood, like duh! I'm paying for a car with interests that too high for starters... That same day I was told that if I had a cosigner that the loan would deff be approved. Also, in my initial application, they defaulted the standard of living ($650 for rent)...welp, I live with roommates and pay half of that. I am not on a lease so they couldn't factor in my 350..so they had to use the 650... which was fine, I had a cosigner anyways. Before we proceeded we went over the expenses and how much the loan would help me... long story short, since I' ve only been paying interest on my car for the past 2 years, my car is now worth less than what I own (SHOCKER!). I've never missed a payment on my car loan which is a whooping 405.00 for a 2012 car (Perks of being young, needing a car to get to work and having very little direction). I have a stable job and can obviously make the payments. The whole point of requesting this loan was so that I could alleviate and reduce the interest paid. With a cosigner with a 750+ credit score.... Why make someone apply 5 times for the same loan, guarantee it was going to be approved and decline it ALL 5 TIMES.
