I respect honesty and responsibility. When this bank makes a mistake, they will distort facts and cover it up. I will never use Discover again. They will distort facts and try to put the blame on a customer. I was a customer with them for over 30 years and now I regret every second of it
Awful service. Discover does not honor written nor verbal promises. Expect to experience delays, lack of professionalism, unethical behavior by representatives. One representative contradicts the next resulting in wasting of time and inability to promptly accomplish transactions. They cost us money by not performing as stated they would.Stay clear of this bank.
I tried to add an external account to make a transfer, and they locked me out of my account. Then, when I tried to call them to unlock my account, they said they were doing maintenance on their website and to call them back at 6 AM. Very frustrating. All I did was enter the information for my bank to make an external transfer, and on the next page, it said my account was locked.
Discover mailed me an offer to open an account and receive a $300 bonus. Upon meeting all the qualification, I get a message "After careful review of your account, we do not show you are targeted for this offer" Accounts have been close.... who would bank with a company they can not trust??
Stay away from Discover Bank. I did their $100 bonus offer 35 days ago and took screen shots to show everything went thru. 30 days later no bonus. Wrote to their customer service folks and the reply was: “I am sorry to say, it appears your account was disqualified from the promotion. However, I have reviewed your account and I cannot find a reason for that disqualification. That being said, I have escalated this matter to our Promotion Specialists to be investigated. Our Promotion Specialists will determine what happened and either credit your account or contact you to advise you of the reason that you did not qualify for the bonus. Please note that investigations of this type are be difficult and may take up to 8 weeks to be completed.” I did everything I was supposed to do, they can’t tell me why they think they shouldn’t have to do what they said they would do, and they will take 8 weeks to figure it out. Stay away. Far away.
I have had a savings account with Discover Bank for almost three years now. I haven't had any issues, or problems with them when it comes to my account. The only issue I had was trying to set up direct deposit. I sat on the phone with them for almost two hours talking to different representatives that had no clue what was going on. It got resolved though. The customer service is great, the rates are great. Overall, it is a great bank to bank with. I would not change to another bank. I also recommend this bank to everyone I know.
I have been using Discovers online savings account for several years, and I've been very happy with them. I decided to go with them when I found that their interest rates on savings accounts were 16 times more than I was getting from a local branch. Transfers in and out of the account are usually processed within a day or two. Whenever I've had questions, their online live chat support has been fast and helpful. I have been able to get my questions answered within five minutes, from a friendly and helpful representative. Overall, I don't have any complaints about using Discovers online savings account.
My Discover savings account is very stable and gets me interest above the national average. I appreciate the steady growth it allows me. The 1.98% interest is somewhat low but it does add to my savings. It isn't a savings account for people without any cash on hand because it requires a 2500 initial deposit. However this wasn't a problem for me. My experience interacting with Discover employees has been great they have helped me whenever I have had issues with my account. They have even waved a fee for me before just because I asked about it. Discover is a great company to hold a savings account with.
I like this savings account. There isn't much not to like about it. I do wish rates were better but in comparison to many other savings account interest rates, this one is top notch. The process of transferring money in and out of the account is very simple and happens quickly between your bank and Discover. It is personal preference to keep all of my bank accounts at one bank just for convenience so my only complaint is that Discover doesn't offer other banking solutions like a checking account. Other online banks have offered this so I hope Discover gets into the business as well.
Back when I was in high school, I choose to open my CD (the 3 year CD) through Discover Bank. I choose them because I had my credit card through them, and loved the idea of linking all my accounts effectively. Furthermore, they have a history of beating the average CD rate, and definitely were above my local bank. The only reservation I had regarded the online banking process, meaning I had no brick and mortar building to go and receive help. Now that I have recently closed the CD for helping with current college finances, I am happy to say that the customer service was never a hindrance. In fact, I loved the fact that I never had to leave the comfort of my own home to contact customer service. You can access your account online at any-time, and their customer service is always available and ready to help. There were a few times that I was put on hold due to volume, but I never had to wait more than 5 minutes to speak to an agent. Account set-up itself is a very quick process, and you can transfer money quickly from other bank accounts. I also must mention that I also have a savings account with them, and this is a very convenient way to have all your accounts linked (credit card, savings, and CD accounts). They have a great online interface to view all of your accounts on one page.
