I have been with PSCU for over 20 years. I have checking, savings, money markets and loans with them. In the past 5 years however, I have had to have new cards issued to me over 5 times because of "merchant compromises"! They say it's to protect it's members, but from who? Ourselves? 2 of those times I never received notification or replacement cards and my card was just shut off, leaving me stranded. They don't use email or txt to notify of these practices, they use US mail. So who knows where my replacement cards ended up. They said I could go into one of their 'limited' amount of branches and get it straightened out. They won't tell you who the merchant is either. Also, whenever this happens, I have to go through to all of my accounts that use auto-pay and redo all of them! Once it caused me to lose my health insurance causing me to have to pay a large penalty! We have had issues with my son traveling too. Hawaii, Japan and Australia. Even when we gave travel notification, twice my son had issues while in other countries leaving him stranded with $0 money because it happened on a weekend and no branches were open and only they could take care of his issues. He had to wait until the next CU business day! Their security policies are way too stringent for their members own good! When your members can't even get their OWN money without going to major hassles, then they need to rethink their policies. In the last 3 months PSCU service has seriously deteriorated. They ask for a photo ID to deposit to my checking. They place a deposit hold on my State Farm Insurance checks. I have been with them for 10 years and always been very satisfied. Now the service is horrible.
Hi, when I and my girlfriend moved to CO., we needed a new bank, I have been using mostly CUs as they are friendlier and less evil, and we choose this one, easy set up and haven't had any problems with them. We use the free checking account option. The best part is they have a debit card printer onsite.
This credit union has a great customer service department. When I was with them I didn't have to call very many times to resolve a problem, but when I did it was so easy. A few times I have gone out of town without calling the bank to tell them I would be traveling. My card/account would be flagged and immediately someone from the bank would call to make sure that I was the one making the purchases out of state. It was really comforting to know that my card was secure and that I was taken care of. If my card ever had been stolen I would have been confident that it would have been taken care of very quickly and I wouldn't have to worry much at all. They were always on top of it. I have been a member with Public Service Credit Union, since last summer. I am the type of person that doesn't believe in having a bank, because I don't trust how banks work (at least in my own personal experience). However, I moved into a homeless shelter last summer, and one of the requirements of course, was getting a bank account. So, I went down to Public Service Credit Union, and talked with them for a long time, about setting up an account, and banks fees, and how it works. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable of the bank, and told me things, most banks would never admit to someone signing up for an account. So, I agreed, and signed up. I have been a member with them ever since! I have never had a problem with bank fees, overdraft, or direct deposit, because this bank REALLY covers its ground. This bank even helped me work through my credit, and helped me choose the right moves to help pay off my debts. They helped me budget as well, with their free debt consultation on site. This has to be the best bank, out of all the banks out there, and I can definitely assure you that this bank, is not a part of the scams like Wells Fargo. Having done business with several credit unions in the Denver area over the past three decades, I have to say that Public Service offers the best suite of services I've encountered to date. The checking account has proven to serve our needs very well, and through our association with PSCU, we've availed ourselves of other outstanding services as well. Looking at their savings plans, trust connections, loan rates, and others, we find that they compare very favorably with or better than most other credit unions in the area. I have had an open account with Public Service Credit Union for a year now, and I could not be more satisfied. I began doing all of my checking with them after years of negative personal experiences and several different banking institutions and the difference was startling. I have been very satisfied with Public Service Credit Union. They offer no fee checking as long as you utilize direct deposit. They have a great online bill pay system that allows me to ACH money to any company or any person. They also just upgraded their site to provide financial tools to allow you to track your spending to see where your money is coming from and where it is going. Not only do they have a great set of online tools, but the employees at the local branches are very helpful. They are always courteous and are willing to answer all of your questions and help you with whatever you need.
