Customer Service reps are very nice, well trained but... this bank engages in delayed posting of deposits, manipulates check/ debit and deposits posting dates to create fees. I have entered the bank with my account balance on my phone, and have the teller give me different information. I have made deposits on a Friday, online it shows my balance including my Friday deposit - only to get charged an overdraft fees for all weekend transactions as my Friday deposit was delayed until Monday. I can go online and get a "running balance" showing I had NO overdrafts and then get charged of $148...due to delayed posting! What is this? Banks are now reporting their biggest money maker is FEES, not loan interest, what manipulation, this needs to be looked into.…read more
I HATE TO GIVE THEM 1 STAR BUT I CANT LEAVE A REVIEW WITHOUT DOING SO. TCF is a rip off and only out to take your money. I overdrafted and put the money back into the account before 10 pm the same day(which my account allows) and these scam artists say it wasn’t processed until 3 days later and charged me 4 overdraft fees 37 each. SPOKE TO ONE OF THE MANAGERS AND HE WAS VERY RUDE AND NASTY WITH ME WOW!CHASE WILL FOREVER BE THE BETTER BANK.…read more
TCF is a worst bank ever. They cheat customers to making money on the fees. They don't reflect correctly transactions on the account and then charge a fee, which is 37 dollars. they don't inform customers about transactions intentionally just to charge them. Terrible bank ever.
TCF Bank in Jewel on Arlington Heights and Rand Rd. Is the worst very bad Customer Service. Her name is (Azalea) she is not friendly & not helpful don’t want to do her job with the public, look out for her.
Their Glenview, IL jewel Osco branch was terrible - rude, no basic knowledge. I got a promotion mail and went there once and would never want to return. I dealt with many banks over 20 years and this is by far the worst.
They try and take your money at any cost..That is why their accounts are free to open cause they know they will make their money. I am soooo done with TCF I will be taking my money and business somewhere else!
This bank is the absolute worst. The customer service is not there to help you. This bank charge crazy fees and do not want to reverse them. They only want more money out of you. There online banking is crap. I should have done my research before opening an account. I will be closing my account with them. If anyone reads this do not open an account with the. Choose any other bank. This might be a reason why you do not see to many TCF Banks. If I could I would give them no stars.…read more
TCF is NOT for the customer, it is for their "Business." They make ALL of their money "Hitting," customers with fees and REDICULOUS overdrafts. I will be moving on. I think ending a 14 year relationship of one sided benefits is more then enough!
I have been a tcf customer for almost 5 years. Recently I was the victim of a loan scam. Without going into to much detail, the scam wouldn't have been able to happen if they actually followed there own policy. They allowed someone to cash fake checks into my account without verifying anything. The endorsement was my name printed. Lol. Really?? Then for some unknown reason the funds were available immediatly. After making some transactions I notified them something did not seem right. So I filled out the neccessary paperwork and closed the account. Now they want me to pay them back the money that they gave me. They will do anything to not admit fault here. Just be careful about what they say you have available. Even if they mistakenly deposit fake, forged checks into your account they will NOT admit to it.…read more
The online banking is the worst. Logs me out halfway through the login process. No easy to navigate once I do get logged in. Bill payments are confusing in the new website. If I could give less than one star, I would.
Unfortunately, the information regarding the exchange rate is not made available on the bank’s website. Please call customer service at 800-823-2265 for more details. Note that the bank will assess a 3% international service fee and a $5 fee when withdrawing money at an ATM.
You can’t overdraft your account in the first 30 days that it’s open. Then, in order to overdraft your account, you have to opt-in to the bank’s overdraft service. Please call the Overdraft Service Election Line at 1-866-823-4472 to opt-in to this service.
That depends on the type of deposit. Cash deposits, direct deposits and wire transfers, for instance, are available the same business day. Checks, deposits made at an ATM and postal money orders become available the next business day. Checks deposited using mobile deposits post the second business day. For more information, please go to: https://www.tcfbank.com/personal/deposit-availability.
While some banks and credit unions allow consumers to open an account with an ITIN instead of a Social Security Number, it is unknown if TFC Bank is one of them. Since it’s not on the website, please give customer service a call at 612-823-2265 to find out.
