I have been with US Bank for over 8 years now. I used there Zelle service to transfer money to my fiance's account about a month ago everything went fine the first time. I went to do another and unlike the first transaction it did not instantly get put into his account. I call the bank they said it was rejected would take a couple days to return to me. I was told monday or tuesday. Thursday came and still no money. I call again and the next representative told me that the payment didnt have time to be returned that by the end of friday. Now it is Saturday and USbank tells me to contact Zelle but Zelle doesnt even have an option to talk to a person. It says to talk to my bank. Now I am out money that is nowhere to be found. I have a trip i want to make and cant go thanks to this wonderful screwed up bank of mine that obviously offers services through companies and doesnt take the time to figure out how they function. US Bank charged my 18 yr old college student $25 a week for being overdrwn $15. His amount owed grew to over $200 from excessive fees, and they did not attempt to contact him except they sent emails. US bank refused to remove fees.
Horrible is putting it NICELY, they open my checking and i try to deposit a check oops there is a 200$ daily limit for check deposits and 400 monthly limit!!!! IS THIS A JOKE???? WHAT kind of horrible bank is this.... instantly closed account and will close the shitty credit cards also 500$ LIMIT for a 760 fico and lowest limit on ANY OTHER card is 3500.... avg limit 5-6k.... what a shitty bank.....
Problems with online banking. When you log into your account it will show you your current account balance (based on the pending transactions) the next day when you log in those pending transactions have been processed and now negative in the account. I don't get it. I have NEVER had this issue with other banks. Everything went through that same day not days and days of 'PENDING TRANSACTIONS" they tell you they are processed everyday at 6PM, thats BS!!……read more
Just got off the phone with "Robert" ID. RJSIL, he's a supervisor, I made an honest mistake believing I wasn't gong to be charged "foreign ATM fees. He said he wouldn't refund the $47.50 because I should have known better, he actually spoke to me in a way that escalated my tension, offered no condolences or compassion in my error, the Monthly fee is all that is waived and I understood it to be ATM fees from Us Bank as well. He spoke in the most dense and rude way, I ended up hanging up on him. I'm off to a very rocky start with US Bank. This guy says he's been there 7 years and spoke to me with the most condescending manner. He even told me "I'm putting in notes on this account so that NO ONE else can or will refund the money" HE ALSO SAID "If I give you back the money, I would actually be taking money out of the pockets of others to give to you"....WOW, Just a true HORRIBLE PERSON, I hope he doesn't own animals at home.…read more
1. US Bank renders customer's debit cards unusable without ever notifying the customers resulting in unpleasant surprises when the card is rejected during a purchase. A visit to the bank building is required to get a 'temporary' card and a reinvestment of even more time obtaining the purchase nixed by US Bank
2 Said temporary card is issued to customer with a questioning smile and "Oh, you didn't get a new card in the mail?" No I didn't. And they don't explain that this card is very limited in use, a deposit can't be made with it. I was told it was for security reasons I told them that if anyone at all wanted to deposit money in my account, I wouldn't complain about security. They are actually protecting me from my bad self, I guess. 3. The replacement card that US Bank robotic smiling reps were so surprised to discover takes more than two weeks. I'm still waiting for mine. 4. In the meantime, I now have to spend more time going into the bank building to always wait in the long line to make a deposit. Oh, the glories of magical online electronic banking. 5. Going into the bank building yourself? Bring a sack lunch, wear a Depends and wait in the one customer service line while you watch five nicely dressed bank employees at their desks pecking on their keyboards and being totally unconcerned and oblivious about others watching them, standing in line all day long just feet from their desks.…read more
Great customer service from Matthew that set me up with my first business account. It was seasonal so I only use the account occasionally and switched all my auto-pay from one bank to another. I forgot to change one auto-pay account and get hit with an overdraft fee. Had issues logging in to mobile app, and never received ANY notification about my being in the negative. I continued to get hit with overdraft charges and no call or anything. I feel it was a trap to continue to make more money from me. Spoke to a manager who refused to waive even one overdraft charge as a courtesy. I am deeply disappointed and intend on closing this account. DO NOT BANK WITH THESE CROOKS!…read more
I opened a checking account for my daughter going off to college because they were on campus with a huge presence. Big mistake. I let them convince me to attach a credit account in case she needed and did not have funds in the checking. Sounds like a good idea, right? They knew what they were doing and never told me about the fees that would be charged to access it. Every time she swiped and the balance was not there, it was a $40 fee to access this account. Don't walk into this bank and let them sell you anything, because they only want to make money off of you. What a nightmare.…read more

The easiest way is for your parent to transfer the money from his/her account to your account. Also, he/she can visit a U.S. Bank branch and deposit the money into your account as long as you provide the account’s number. You must be at least 18 years old to open a Student Checking Account with U.S. Bank. If you haven’t celebrated your 18th birthday yet, you'll need to go to a U.S. Bank branch to open an account and have a parent be a co-owner of the account.
