Us bank place your deosit on hold for no reasonor you but security reason for them. It is ridiculous because you can’t count on money you deposited to your account. I feel more unsafe to use this bank.
If I could give this bank no stars I would, we made a few purchases that were then returned to merchant and once merchant sent us a refund receipt US Bank claims that the money was refunded yet there was never an increase on our account for the money that was suppose to be put back or refund showing on our end and soon as you call these people they have an attitude or don’t know what the hell theyre talking about…read more
Been with them for a few years now, every time I call in and speak with a teller I get told different information and dont bother using online banking because the information dont be current. I'm sick of them and their high unknown fees
This bank charges fees for statements. And if you include check images on your eStatement, you get charged again. I was charged. I worked with a customer rep to fix the problem. Then was charged again and not allowed to fix the fee. I'm moving my money to a better bank.
US Bank 10:50 PM | 9/12/18 (Deposit $880 - Increments 100's (4), 20's (24) ATM made a loud beeping sound after attempting to Deposit more cash from first transaction, after that it attempted to process the transaction stuck on the "Processing" screen for 2-4 minutes and then "Network Error Message" Appeared. ATM began to restart and reset, at that point the screen went Blank and made noises internally, and eventually after 10 minutes turned back on ready for use. At that point, I realized it took my Debit Card and my Funds I deposited with no receipt provided by the ATM to address the amount I deposited... before and after it turned off. At that point, I wrote a note on the First Capitol Schnucks U.S Bank location desk and also put a "Out of Order" sign on the ATM.…read more
I have been a loyal customer with usbank for 7 or 8 years. I had a fee applied to my account and was denied the request to have it refunded. This is the first fee I have had since I first found out about excessive transactions on a savings account when I had just opened the account. I was staying with this bank because they had great customer service and have helped me when I have gone into a location to make a deposit or request a check. A mistake was made and it cost me $36. I will be closing my accounts and taking my business elsewhere, to a bank that would be more understanding.…read more
I have had an account for 6months and have had so many issues. I highly recommend not using Us bank. I had lost my card, ordered a new one and it never came. I called to get a new one again, still never came, finally got it 4weeks later after 3 calls.
I had elected to 'opt-in' for overdraft protection. On more than one occasion they will return the payment and charge me a "returned check" fee, and a couple days later go ahead and pay it and charge me another fee for "overdraft". So basically they are getting two fees for the same payment because the "system" decided to not pay it one day but pay it the next day, and technically they can do that as it's labeled as two separate fees. When asking the Customer Service rep why this happened and if one fee can be waived(just one), she said no it's a "system" decision. So I asked for a manager, she said there were none available!
Absolutely the worst bank I've ever felt with. They can't even tell me the logic, rules or stipulations of how my account works.…read more
When you open with a brick & mortar bank, you have customer service expectations. You expect representative to be able to help you, you expect them to listen to your concerns & respond appropriately, you expect them to have a level of concern, awareness, & reliability that only a living person can often provide. Furthermore, when you choose a large, older brick & mortar bank, you expect consistency, the opportunity for growth, & a trustworthiness that can often only be found with years of wisdom garnered from past mistakes.
You get none of this US Bank & to add insult to injury, it is your fault entirely for even placing them on such a figmented pedestal. Imagine my surprise to hear that there is nothing they can do to intervene in the automated actions of their 3rd party managed ATM’s. Imagine my shock when their glorified sales rep (they refer to themselves as “Banker’s”) place the blame solely on me for expecting to be warned (JUST warned) about a $1200 check suddenly being reversed & overdrafting my account simply because I’m in the middle of a name change (nevermind the fact that it still had my husband’s name on it as well & that our account is joint). Imagine my utter shock to discover than when I vehemently denied overdraft protection, I didn’t quite pick THE CORRECT option that would not only deny just Visa transactions, but RECURRING Visa transactions as well!
Gosh, I must just be SO LAZY to not have realized all these rules about my account THAT WERE NEVER EXPLAINED in the last 4 years I’ve owned this account & NEVER OVERDRAFTED, or even the last time just this year I called regarding this same matter & was explicitly told that ONLY ACH transactions would be put through. What’s crazy is that these people honestly believe that because of $90 worth of transactions going through (which again, should have been declined- oh don’t worry, they now made sure to click that option for me this time! So no big!/s) it’s entirely justified to STEAL $180 even though it sat negative for all of TWO FUCKING DAYS.
Ladies & gentlemen, not even WELLS FARGO, the king of banking horror stories, did this to me. My account could sit negative for a total of 3 day’s & I would maybe incurr ONE fee. Yup.
So think TWICE folks, this is not the bank for you, trust me. I expect to be treated like a number, I expect fees when I make mistakes, what I DO NOT expect from a PHYSICAL BANK that I can go into is the lack of help, transparency, & theft I’ve been provided with despite the 4 years of WEEKLY direct deposits (every Friday) my husband & I have made!
Oh, this is rich too, one day, for no particular reason at all, US Bank closed our savings account even though we’d just had about $1k in it a couple weeks prior & were about to put more in. Oh! & while we’re at it, let’s mention the fact that our account is supposed to be FREE with a qualifying direct deposit, ask me why we’ve suddenly been charged every month this last year... guess what? I have no idea & neither do any of the reps! I would ask a qualified banker, but the THREE times I’ve put in a request, nobody calls us back! & remember, those “bankers” they have at each location... they’re sterile sales people! Last, but certainly not least, the rep I JUST spoke to (she’s the FIRST kind rep I’ve ever spoken to through them) said that customer service reps are completely neutered. They can ONLY reverse fraudulent transactions, no bank fees, just fraudulent transactions... you need a “Banker” to do everything else... but they don’t call you back!
So yeah... I recommend looking elsewhere. This is one pile of crap you do not want to have a relationship with.…read more
I would give 0 rating if possible, by far worst company I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life. Opened a money market, checking, and savings account due to $200 offer for new accounts. Between dealing with the branches and customer service had multiple issues from the start. Ended up closing all 3 accounts and switched banks before I even qualified for the $200 offer they sent me, because of the mind boggling poor service I received from the beginning. Stay far away from US Bank!!!…read more
Their customer service is terrible. Their techniques are outdated. Their mobile banking options are very behind. Very slow service. They made so many errors with creating my account. I am always traveling so US Bank isn't available everywhere for me to go in to a branch to discuss these issues. Very inconvenient.

Typically it takes between 1 to 3 business days to get approved for a checking account, but US Bank doesn’t specifically disclose that on its website. Please call customer service at 800-511-4711 to find out if you were approved.
