I have thoroughly researched this bank and it is one of the best banks and what they have to offer that I have found so far. They have been very communicative and answer my questions quickly. They have a phone APP as well as online convenience. I have had no problems whatsoever with them. I have been very pleased so far and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have an easy experience and great customer service.…show more
Opening up an account with affinity is a total joke. The website lacks many features and was told i would be emailed a member number and the email only said member number the nothing. Turns out to find out anything with these people you have to waste tons of time calling customer service reps which 3/4 mumble, sound tired and answer questions poorly to finally get to someone who asks questions about your situation to actually understand it rather than assume and rant for a while telling me all the wrong info and me having to call again. 40 calls in a week maybe Ill be setup one day or leave...…show more
Went into the Cedar Knolls branch of this bank. Waited over 1 hour plus to open a simple business checking account. The person opening a personal account for a couple of kids was doing nothing but goofing around and thinking it was some sort of party. Talking out loud about comic books, alien blood the whole thing. She was purposely taking her time. Then the other person in the small cub office came out to give me some fake apology for waiting so long. Even though i was next in line, she purposely wrote me off to take care of a bunch of people that just walked in. She knew I was waiting for over an hour, she went into the immature persons' office and asked what she had left to do, she replied just take the deposit and make an ATM card. 1/2 hour goes by and she's still clowning around with the same 2 customers. Mind you when I first walked in she was still with the same 2 people. Walked out of there because they do nothing but waste people's time with their runaround BS. Day 2 gave them a 2nd chance, which turned out to be another 40 minutes of time wasted. The oversized woman who came up to me and gave me the fake apology was caught in a lie making an excuse that the only reason why there was 2 people in the office plus a teller was because 1/2 the people were sick. Today was the same thing. 8 people behind the teller line doing nothing but talking and Bsing with each other. When I finally got someone to start to open the account, I said here we go again...more incompetence and that's what it was. I had to repeat numerous times teaching this wanna be banker what the difference was between a state filed incorporate vs a county trade name registration. She then just went stupid. Picked up the phone and pretended to be talking on the phone with someone. Then the oversized woman runs into the office, not eve knocking or waiting, along with another person a minute later, more of same rude behavior. Then what does the wanna be tellers say, another lie! She goes "didnt you hear her knock" I said NO! Then the clown walks in from the day before and continues her bs, saying "you were hear yesterday, if you just waited 2 more seconds I would of been done. " I said yeah right the whole time you were playing games and thinking this was some sort of joke. So I said enough was enough and took my 6 figure bank check and said, I want you to look out the window, do you see that six figure car and you see see this six figure check, i want you to watch all three of us closely as we start to drive across the street to your competition. Walked out the door and will never come back. Oh on top of that this incompetent started making copy after copy of all my personal information for who knows what, ripping up the documents, using the back of it as post it notes and started throwing it into the regular trash. Enough was enough!…show more
Thanks to my family, I have always had an affinity for Affinity Federal Credit Union. I am the fourth generation of Feinstein to do business with them full-time, and that is because Affinity Federal Credit Union is a storied establishment which has proven, time and time again, that they are among the best. I have had my checking account with Affinity FCU for over twenty years, and a savings account for 15. I have had two car loans, one current and one long paid off, and I got my mortgage through them 12 years ago. I expect great service and friendliness from any place I would give my business, and the staff at my local Affinity FCU branch has, as far back as I can remember, coming in with my grandfather to make mortgage payments on his farm, top-notch and willing to go out of their way to help.…show more
I recently signed up for a business checking and savings account with Affinity Federal Credit Union. They were by far the most upfront and honest bank I have done business with. They were upfront with every charge and fee I would incur. Their responses to my questions were easy to understand, detailed and in depth. Over the past three months they have always delivered world class customer service. I would highly recommend them as an honest bank that's easy to work with.
Lastly, they do not charge a lot of service fees that other banks are known for. As a result, I also found them to be one of the cheaper banks in terms of overall value. For a smaller bank they have a nice and easy to use website and mobile apps to manage your money on the go. Again, I am very happy with my choice to bank with these guys.…show more
I banked with Affinity Credit Union while I was in college, and for a few years after. Their rates are above average, and their customer service was always professional and courteous. While I had direct deposit, they were probably one of the better banks to work with, but then I found a job that only offered pay via paper checks, and had to find myself a new bank.
While Affinity has a decent number of branches spread over North Jersey, the location closest to me is only open from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm on weekdays, with no hours at all on weekends. It just wasn't possible to get to the bank with my work schedule, and the other branches were more than twenty minutes away, which meant that the Credit Union just was no longer a logical choice.
Now this was a number of years ago, and additional deposit features have become available as technology progressed, but I would still say that, unless you live somewhere in Morris or Essex counties, and want occasional access to a local bank, you may be better off looking elsewhere.…show more
