American Airlines Credit Union must be the worst bank in trustworthiness. I had money taken from my checking. Not only did the bank blame me, they refused to assist me in getting my funds back. After a very long relationship with them, I am finally convinced I must close all of my accounts with them. Please do not open an account with this financial facility. Poor Customer Service as well! What a bad reflection on them!
I use to love this bank they are falling off very bad. They just charge my card for a tranaction i made 3 weeks ago. Then blame it on the store. I go to that store every week. This never happen to me. I been with them for 3 and a half yrs. They are getting very money hungry SMH. I recommend them to no one. They over charge in everything now.
I have been a member for about 11 years. The rates and fees are fantastic. Banks cant touch them, and often Credit Unions cant either. I live in AZ and there are several other credit union choices that are locally owned and operated, but with the US Airways merger, they opened up 2 offices in PHX. They don't have the presence here that they do in DFW area, but with shared branching that really doesn't matter.
My only complaint is they they can be a little slow in matching technology elsewhere. Current version of online banking is not as good as the old one, it just looks cleaner than the old one. Customer alerts are poor too.
I have been with American Airlines Federal Credit Union for two years and have been very pleased with my checking account. I had used other large name bank accounts before, so coming to a credit union was a bit different for me. Overall I think that you get much friendlier staff and the products and services at a credit union are much better. I have not had any issues whatsoever with my checking account here. There was one time I had a fraudulent charge on my account and it was dealt with very quickly and smoothly. That was one year ago and it was not the credit union's fault, but they handled the issue very well. overall I would highly recommend American Airlines Federal Credit Union to others.
I have had an american airlines credit union account for about 2 years now. I signed up originally because my father was working for a company within this credit union. I started with a savings account and quickly transferred my checking account to them. I even had a short term small loan with only 3% interest. Any time I have had problems the people are so helpful and so great with customer service. I thought it would be hard not having a physical bank but it is so easy I don't miss it at all. I am interested in eventually getting a car loan through them once my credit is a little bit better. 100% would recommend.
