I closed all checking, saving, joint, safety box account for other bank. I've been trust BB&T, I never recommend this bank to anybody.…show more
BB&T has to be THE WORST bank in the world!! I went into a local branch to make a CASH deposit into my ex-wife's account. This was to pay for my monthly child support that she needs in order to feed/cloth/house my children. The teller told me that she couldn't accept my CASH deposit because I my name was not on the account. SHE COULDN'T TAKE CASH!!!!! She told me she could take a personal check or money order....a PERSONAL CHECK!! A PERSONAL CHECK THAT CAN BE EASILY FORGED AND/OR FAKE!!! BUT SHE COULD NOT TAKE CASH!! What kind of ridiculous policy is this?!?! I WILL NEVER EVEN CONSIDER USING THIS JOKE OF A BANK AND MY EX-WIFE WILL BE CLOSING HER ACCOUNT AND TAKING HER MONEY ELSEWHERE!! BB&T IS WORTHLESS!!!!!…show more
This is literally the worst bank I have ever banked with. I have lived in four different states all over the country and have only had a problem with this bank. I recently moved away and do not have a BB&T near me, so I chose to switch to PNC (highly recommend). When I first moved to my new state I lost my debt card and needed a new one. Unfortunately, they could not do an address change over the phone so they had to mail me an address change request form to fill out and send back. I did exactly what they told me to do and never received a new debt card. I then needed a new credit card and never received one. It got to the point where I wanted to close my account. First your account must be at a balance of 0 (I don’t see this happening without all the return item fees they charge you). In order to do this, have to go into a BB&T location and do it there or physically write yourself a check or wire transfer all of your money to your new account. I did exactly what they told me to again and they charged me a return item fee and denied my transfer. When I called he argued with me saying PNC was charging my BB&T account (yes the transfer was trying to go through) he said I was wrong and continued to go around in circles with me not helping me solve my situation. So, I STILL have a BB&T account and will most likely CONTINUE to be charged return item fees when all I want is to leave this bank.…show more
I've been banking with BB&T for a few years now theyre always super helpful in branch and over phone I spoke to Maria today needing help with my account and she was so helpful and the mostly friendly voice over the phone. Very personable and resolved my problem in less then 5 minutes. Reduced my stress by about 80% . THANK YOU MARIA
I have been with this bank for years. I don't mind having to pay a NSF fee when I have caused my account to be short of funds...ie I have ADHD and have at times transposed numbers in my mind instead of being smart and writing down my balance. That said....I Definitely have an issue when I have been extremely careful as I have for the the month of April 2019. This bank had taken $396.00 in NSF fees when at NO time was I overdrawn. I have attempted to get this resolved, with no assistance from anyone I have talked to about this. No One at this bank wants to do the good OLD fashion math to see that I am correct. They keep showing me all the reasons... transaction that they say caused this issue. How can you be overdrawn, charged a NSF fee and still have a positive balance, not once but every time they applied NSF fees. I see no end to this madness. Definitely leaving this crooked bank. You should be able to trust your bank with your money, not have to worry about them stealing it.…show more
So ive been with this bank for 2 years now....and for anyone that has been with BB&T for a good while understands where im coming from when i say they're a bunch of snakes....so i paid my electricity bill which was 75 dollars for the month because im OTR monday thru friday so i paid my bill on a thrusday had 79 dollars in my account it took them a a day short of a week to process the payment in my account but the day before i get hit with a maintenance fee of 15 dollars whichs drops my account below 75 dollars for my electricity bill so the very next morning i wake up to being 90 something dollars in the hole because of the overdraft fee plus being short on my electricity bill. so of course im upset about that... then the next morning i wake up to find my account 120 something in the hole because of another charge that wasnt processed for another week PLUS ANOTHER 36 dollar over draft fee i also have OVERDRAFT protection so how is this STILL HAPPENING??? for ANYONE that took the time to read this.....i HIGHLY....HIGHLY....HIGHLY....warn you to stay CLEAR AWAY FROM THIS BANK they are nothing but a bunch of snakes and they literally dont give a crap about you....this bank is pathetic and after 2 years im done with them....after reading some of these reviews seems alot of other people are having the same problem.…show more
As a customer i expect far and honest banking. BB&T has proved to be crooks praying on there customers. let me explain if you are a current customer then you would know how long it takes for a pending charge to get cleared on your account, they do it so if your are to overdraft they can charge you $36 dollars for every transaction made for the past few days claiming they only process when a communication is establish between the two party. I find that hard to understand when all transactions get cleared on the same day after days. In my overview this bank waits in hopes of someone over drafting so they can suck the blood out of you. they even would charge extra $3 for using an ATM machine when competitors like PNC bank refunds the ATM fee to your account. I have wasted a lot of money and time with a bank that should be sued for entrapment and taking there customers money for there gain. i will never Bank with BB&T ever again!!…show more
I have been a customer for over 10 years and never had any problems. I don't know what happened with their policy in the past year or so but this bank has turned to garbage. Customer service is no help, the overdraft fees are RIDICULOUS. If your account goes negative they automatically take out the overdraft fee and your transactions always will post in the middle of the night so you wake up to a nice notification that you went negative while you were sleeping, and they stole an extra 36 dollars from you. How's that for a wake up call? Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this bank.…show more
The administrative hold on checks has got to be one of the worst I have seen. Even direct deposit isn't there when it's supposed to be. They also have outrageous overdraft fees at $36 a pop, it is one of the worst in the market (notwithstanding the fact that they can charge you up to SIX times per day). They have also had "technical difficulties" in which I was not able to access my account online or IN PERSON for HOURS. Ridiculous.…show more
