I have NO IDEA why anyone would rate this bank even 1 star! Since the beginning it has been a shit show. Debit card never arrived, can’t deposit cash or checks at an ATM, mobile deposits are a joke! Funds are not available until 7 days later! And they are withdrawn immediately from the payer!!! Customer service is by far the worst I’ve EVER dealt with, and COURTESY OVERDRAFT PROTECTION IS A LIE! They returned one item due to “real time” worth 5.01$ and charged me 38$ anyway!!!! They refused to issue a refund of the fee. And to boot I can barely understand one word of what the so called CSR is saying! I closed my acct after 3 weeks of hell. Worst bank ever. Made a ATM deposit of $280. The money never went to my account. After speaking to customer service several times, they say there is no record of the ATM being over and that I’m out of luck. I will never bank with them again. They stole $280 from me and they won’t do anything about it.
BBVA is the worst bank. I have had other accounts but BBVA eill give a consumer NSF fees for transactions mafe in "real time" even when the mobile app shows there is money available after all pending items have cleared. The customer service experience is awful and there is no consistent answers or knowledge of policy and procedure. Steer clear.
This is the most horrible bank I have ever had an account at. Not only was I lied to when I opened my account, I was not given any disclosures. They charge $3(!) for using another ATM, charge a huge $38 NSF fee for any denied transaction. Today (a Saturday), I deposited a payroll check in the ATM and the bank did not release any funds. My app, nor my online banking login, show the deposit as occurring. Customer service (horrible!) says I have to wait 48-72 hours for the deposit to show up in my account! Not to become available...just to show up! I basically have no proof that a check was deposited. Customer service said there is nothing that can be done and since it was an ATM deposit, it is impossible to get the check back to deposit into a different account.…show more
Horrible service. I had an unauthorized charge to my account and had to get a new card. I was told 3 to 5 business days. It took 12 , the supervisor of the call center was so extremely rude and kept talking over me , just horrible. I cannot believe BBVA has such low standards when it comes to their customer service.
HAHA! No wonder they have reviews disabled. What a terrible bank. Open account with roughly $200k, then they make me spend over 2 hours at this point between being in a branch and online just to open online banking.STILL don't have access. Also had them allow 4 fraudulent checks be deposited for my business. Checks were signed with a Ray, an employee apparently thought that's how I signed my name. What a joke of a bank, nothing but problems and poor customer service.

Horrible. Abysmal. The worst service in banking or anywhere else. Beyond frustrating. Hanging up agents, refusal to escalate, arguing back. Completely unprofessional and this bank is unable to perform the most basic banking functions.
This is the worst bank by a long shot. Fraud protection wont let you access your funds even after you call and clarify that they you are actually making the purchase. I have called a bunch of times to allow my card to have no fraud or overdraft limit and then the next month have to call back and redo this. There physical card chip stopped working two months after getting the card. The customer service line has you on hold for hours before you are able to get anything accomplished. You text the fraud notification thing back to attempt to let you through to make the purchase and it does absoultely nothing. This is the worst bank i have ever used by far. I would recommend any credit union, bank or honestly just taping money to the toliet tank would be more effiecent than using this bank. How are you unable to make a purchase at the end of the day when you clearly havve the funds to do so? This makes no sense, cant wait for the bank to open to pull every penny i have out and close the account. I would much rather walk around with absurd amounts of cash then not have access to your money that you own???? This makes no sense and i hate this bank more than anything in life. BBVA Compass Bank is the worst financial Institution I have ever bank with. I made an online purchase through a Company I have used for years. Made a $31.00 purchase on the 10/08/18. Payment came out and was credited to my account. Here's the killer. On the 15th of October. They recharge my account for the same payment that was already made and credited to my account which overdrew my account. The day before I checked my account and $10 was in the account. I made a $5 dollar purchase at a dollar store knowing I had enough left in the account. These pafoons canceled the first charge, it was not showing made on the 8th, and recharged on the 15th knowing it will overdraw my account just to charge overdraft of $32 dollars twice because at that time the $5 payment overdrew too. Customer Service is incompetent, read from a script and do not assist you at all. In another account, Someone made an online purchase for $65 on my account out of Africa. I saw it pending the next morning. Immediately contacted so call Customer Service Fraud dept to stop. All they had to do was stop the payment because it was pending. But noooooooooooo, this fool on the line (Juan) said they had to wait until it is not pending and then he could put in for an investigation. And yes, you guessed it, it overdrew may account and they charged not just $32 but, and additional $25 called an extended overdraft payment. This has happened at least twice on another of my checking accounts. I have proof when the original payment was made. I never had to deal with so many incompetent people in the banking industry before in my life. The only thing he did was cancel my card and ordered me another. This was on 10/05/18. I called them on 10/18/18 to follow up because I did not hear from them and found dumb Juan did not file the investigation. I was livid and went off on them. And do not ask for a Manager. They are always busy on the phone and it will take an hour. Ask for them to call me back. Still waiting. The person in fraud was nice and actually filed it on 10/18 and assured me I should get my provisional credit in about two weeks. We will see as well remove and refund for the fees. Needless to say, I am filing a complaint with the Federal Reserve. This happen to much and they have gone crazy with charging fees for their incompetency. I will be closing both accounts and opening account with an American base bank. WARNING: DO NOT BANK WITH THIS BANK. THEY ARE NOT BASED IN THE US. Their call center is in Mexico and other Countries. I have had nothing but issues with this particular bank. When I first got my account my debit card didn’t work. I requested a custom card with a favorite picture on it. The process went okay but they deactivated the temporary card and activated the new card that was coming in 10 business days. I’m confused how do you activate a card without the three digit code on the back, next issue I had with this bank was they issued a NSF fee for a transaction that wasn’t even on my account and there is no purchase of any kind from the merchant. Now being that there are no local branches where I live I’m subject to fees for using atm. The final straw was when I lost my debit card and I was calling to report it lost and I didn’t see it on my online banking I find my account was closed and they don’t know why. I’m suppose to get my paycheck on my account on the first coming up and now my bills are going to be behind because I have wait until the deposit go back and then wait until it goes into my new account.
