I wish I can put a 0 rating ! Literally the worst place to bank with. Originally coming from a big bank I choose bright star thinking credit unions are better. It moves me how more and more daily they prove me wrong. They closed my account without properly speaking to me regarding that. Jeanette at the margate branch displayed racist behavior and carried on writing my card number and cancelled that card without my consent . Ms Jenie so called supervisor at the call center she aligned herself with is condescending and rude . That whole place the whole experience has been a real life experience with the devil . As soon as I can I will be closing that account they don’t know at all how to treat people ! Worst place to bank ! Take it from me .
Customer Service is just terrible! Spoke with Melissa in customer service-they just don't care. Very sad!!!! Listening and understanding customer needs is just not important to them! They admit to mistake but have no desire to take care of problem they created.
This is by far the worst bank I have ever done business with. I have been with them for 7 years and have had nothing but problems. Constantly being locked out of my account. If you lose your card they do not issue temp cards, you have to wait 10 to 14 days to receive a replacement. The home loans they are supposed to get you at a reduced rate actually have higher rates then going with a private broker. I am again locked out of my account and cannot get anyone on the line. I have called 6 numbers in 2 hours and been on hold for extended periods just to have them tell me call another number. I am moving all of my money from this bank immediately. They are shady and should be shut down.
Dont bank with this place worse customer service ever. Nasty woman on phone everytime I call. When i ask for a supervisor she put phone on hold like she goes to look for a manager each time the comes back says no ones available they will call you back 2 to 3 days very nasty and hangs up. No one ever calls back. Been happening for a couple years now
My wife and I have a joint account with BrightStar which we use for joint expenses. We had an issue a few months back. Our checking account was overdrawn and we were charged a fee, despite there being enough money in our savings account to cover the amount owed. I have an individual account at another credit union and they have automatically transferred money between my accounts to avoid bouncing a check. My wife called to express her displeasure and they agreed to waive the fee.
I've established a checking account with BrightStar Credit Union in July of 2013. The account set up process was a little but more tedious than I had expected, since the credit union required additional verification documents from me which took 2 additional days to process, but the rest of interactions with BrightStar have been a complete delight. Any transactions that I make with my debit card are immediately view-able to me which is an extremely useful feature. The customer service representatives, both on the phone and in branch, at Brightstar are always courteous and helpful. I highly recommend BrightStar Credit Union to anyone in search of a new checking account in the South Florida area.
Having just moved down to South Florida I was looking for a bank closer to me in order to process some money I was making on the side. I prefer to put my money in credit unions these days than in traditional banks. I was lucky enough to find this credit union near my house that was able to serve that need. The application process was easy and they were very eager to have me as a customer there. I haven’t had any issues with them so far and don’t expect to have any in the future either. If I were to encounter a problem, they would be quick to solve it as I have seen them in work. They handle all issues in a professional way and with quickness. I’m glad I was able to find them.
I have started using BrightStar Credit Union to do some of my banking recently. I got an account with them about two months ago since I was starting a job on the side and I wanted to keep this money separate from my main job. I have a checking account with them and it’s one of the best that I have had the pleasure of having. They offer free checking along with a free debit card. A lot of banks these days are looking for us to pay for various things that we normally get free in bank accounts. If you’re in Florida and need a new bank definitely think about these guys.
