The people at the Falls Grove branch try to help, but something always gets missed. A couple of weeks ago, the online banking page stopped working altogether—no page format or links—so I had to go into the bank again. They showed me how to use my profile in Chrome, where it does work. Yet, mysteriously, my husband's profile still worked in Edge.
Now I don't know what's paid automatically because, while they told me they would leave my husband's profile alone for a while, they deleted it without warning. I went to log into his account because my profile is missing a payee I know should be there but must have been overlooked in the transfer, but I can't get the information I need because when I log on with my husband’s profile, I get the message "You don't have any accounts available to service online at this time." I hope they'll be able to give me the missing payee information from their records so I can add it to my new profile without going through the added legwork of recollecting the old information.
I also wonder why it took 5 visits, and now 6, to understand how to create and to be able to use the new profile and why it suddenly stopped working on Edge so that I had to switch to Chrome. I know these transactions aren’t trivial to set up—my hats off to the programmers—but they’ve had plenty of time to refine the process and make things easier for their customers.
My son is going through a separate process of giving me access to his accounts since only my husband’s name was on his account until now—Capital One allowed only one parent to have access to a child’s account when we opened it. To change who has access, they don’t let us just switch one name for another; we have to remove my husband’s name from the account, wait a week or so, and then add me to his account. I don’t understand why this complicated process can’t be simplified to removing one name and adding another in one step or only one visit.
Forget the online instructions. Once I got a link for them, I found them very unhelpful--left too many questions unanswered.
The problem was I was down to my last $6.85 in available funds. had a $16 amazon pending charge for a few days already. thats it. amazon has been reflected in the current bal. not the avail.
So anyway i spent $5.30 bringing my bal. to $1.55 and i zelled myself a $20.00.
Go figure this brings my available balance to $1.55 and my current up $22.85, which means the$20 I just added to my account according to Cust service. was used for a two pending transactions, The one for $5.30 which was actually deducted from my available cash, and the pending amazon which was also previously moved from avail balance to current balance.
CAP 1, literally changed my current balance and my pending balance to match this 20 i just deposited and is basically about to charge me 2 times for a $5.30 i spent.
The con was to move my funds from available balance to current balance all the while charging for a pending hold.
when cap 1 makes a deduction, they deduct asap. Thats why you have two balances in the first place. they basically fiddled with both of my balances and lied about it. Youd think the bank would do better, because they look like thieves now, or have the worst customer service. either way. id be skeptic.
