This bank is awful. Any time I try to do anything aside from spending money from an account or pay them money for a loan, dealing with this bank is a frustrating waste of time. You have to physically go into a bank to wire money, you cannot easily change your contact information through the account portal, and their phone-based customer service is mediocre at best. I had a personal line of credit with them that I used and paid off regularly, but the interest rate crept up to a credit card rate. I called to try to cancel the line of credit and spent an hour on the phone being passed around departments that had no idea what account I was talking about (yes, I gave them the acct number), nor how to close it.

Someone gained access to my card info and charged my card for $200. I called citizens customer service to have the charge taken off. Got a letter from them two weeks later saying they rejected my claim and that I would not be reimbursed. I have called them several times to get my money back. They always say "We'll call you back within a few days" ITS'S BEEN THREE WEEKS and nothing has been done. Apparently no one is capable of or willing to help me. I don't have a lot of money and its nearly Christmas and I'm down $200. This is unacceptable. Once I get my money back (if their team can scrape together enough competence to make that happen) I am canceling my card. What a joke

They have taken soooo much money from me with overdraft fees and have allowed for expenses to be debited out of the account even when funds aren’t available. With COVID, funds are tight, and for them to rob me of over $800 in overdraft fees is ridiculous. I have not experienced this with PNC Bank and I thought there was a limit on overdrafts especially when their fees have placed you in an over draft.
Needless to say I will be closing my account.

Now my parents were customers for around 15 yrs and got scammed. First off they kept telling my mother to wait for transactions to go through to file a claim/ dispute etc. The. They kept taking the merchants side before an ihnvestigation even got initiated. Later instead of refunding their money they said she owed for the overdrawn balance for transactions they didn’t authorize. Yea ok. Bought them over to Bank if America where they’ll always have your back.
The cherry on top was when the fraud alert came the second time and she called them the rep told her to go to the nearest branch, amidst the Covid situation, it was too early for all of this and if she’s overdrawn too long they’ll close her account. That was customer service for possible fraud to a 15 yr customer.
You can do better than that Citizens
