This morning at approximately 11:00 AM, I was a victim of unfair banking practices by the 8584 Princeton Fifth Third Branch. I entered the branch and provided the teller my identification and ATM card. I explained that I received an inheritance check and cashed it on Saturday morning, and I needed to withdraw a much smaller amount of money from my account.
After waiting fifteen minutes, I questioned the teller who stopped my transaction to call someone. Because the teller kept mentioning a different name (Antonio Moore), I felt obligated to ask for a manager. A manager named Lucy(?) explained that there was a one day hold on the check, and I could not get cash.
As a banker of 21 years, I calmly explained that I deposited the check on Saturday morning as instructed by an attorney, and I needed access to my smaller funds since my app said all of the funds were available—not pending. The manager told me that I could receive only 1500 dollars in the form of a cashier check. The manager interrogated me about the purpose of my withdraw. I told her I was purchasing a car for someone. The manager snapped back and told me it seemed unusual. I told the manager that I was a generous person who was purchasing a car for a teenager. She arrogantly expressed disbelief and asked why I didn’t give the teenager the inheritance check (for over ten thousand dollars). She changed her mind and told me that she would only give me two hundred dollars.
I have banked with Fifth Third for half of my life, and I have referred clients to your institution. I understand SARS REPORTS and suspicious activity, which is why I endured the abuse calmly. However, the manager seemed unsatisfied with my explanation—even after I showed her the temporary license plate from the test-driven car that was in the parking lot (Silver Nissan Altima next to the handicapped spaces).
Not being able to access my own money because of the opinion and prejudices of an insulting branch manager makes me question my patronage of your institution. I was able to get money from the ATM at the same location without the misplaced, discriminatory practices, but I will explore other banking options and encourage my clients to do the same.

WORST bank ever. WORST customer service ever. Don't even bother calling customer service because they won't help you and will hang up when pretending to transfer you. Unlike other big banks, none of their customer service reps are located in the USA. Their website is complete and utter trash. Their online customer service chat is useless and you will only get canned responses that don’t answer your questions. I’m in the process of transferring everything to another bank because I’ve had it with 53.

I was a customer from MB Bank. Since being with Fifth Third Bank, there has been issues regarding my account / information.
This current issue is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! HERE WE GO AGAIN.....LIFE INTERRUPTORS! After visiting a location Monday, 06.13.2022, I received an email stating that my personal information had been changed....and NO, IT WAS NOT A PHISHING EMAIL. I went back to the same location within the hour to speak with a Fifth Third Representative.
After reviewing my personal information with the representative, it appears that prior to my visit on Monday, 06.13.2022, the internal personal information section had a driver's license number THAT HAS NEVER, EVER BELONGED TO ME......The bank representative read off the Driver's License number to me....another unbelievable moment! Someone else's personal information on my account profile....UNBELIEVABLE! I sent emails to the email addresses, whereas they all came back email address "Not Found". 3 different email addresses on 53.com website for complaints, investigations, and information. I also called customer service to verify email address information.
Why is this? Who made this change and when? Why didn't I get an email when this change was made?
Mind you, this is information that you can't see online under your profile, so you have to go into branch to verify.
The Corporate Office needs to be made aware of this as well as a CONSUMER ALERT!
This situation is DISTURBING! Fifth Third Bank Customers....BEWARE! BEWARE!

I have been with Fifth Third for several years and their services are excellent. I like having access to my checking account online, being able to pay my bills easily with their online services, and any issues I have are quickly resolved. The customer service at Fifth Third is the best--everyone is so friendly and helpful! I helped my son get his first checking account at this bank and highly recommend them. They make everything very easy and the fees are low. They communicate with their customers very well, too.

I want to preface this with the fact that I have been a customer for over a decade and worked in banking for several years myself. I am across the country on a business trip and prior to my trip I called to notify them of my travel and the CS rep assured me that I didn't need to do this anymore. I woke up 3 days into my trip with $10k missing from my account. I had to export my own account debits and credits since the CS rep could not do basic addition and subtraction to see the missing funds. I have spent 3+ hours on hold and talking to CS and being put on multiple 30min+ holds and have gotten no answers. So not only am I wasting my time but im wasting my employer's time. The cherry on top of all of all of this is the $15 fee I was charged for some sort of erroron their end. This is proof they do not make banking a fifth third better and do not care about their customers. This is the third or fourth issue I have had with incompetent customer service and incompetent banking so I guess it is my fault for trusting them with my business.

I have been waiting on the phone for 45 minutes then someone in the Philippines answered who I could barely understand. Then he transferred me back into the rotation, I am going to take everything out of this in- competent bank. I have never had this kind of trouble with Chase, Huntington, Bank of America. This bank makes plenty of Money why can't they use people in the U.S ? As long as the public puts up with this kind of service they will survive and laugh at the poor smucks that support it.

Worst of the worst banks to use. Designed to give the least …..customer support possible. Complicated auto systems. Transfer / app and online not working coincidence / possibly not. When you hold on the phone 35 minutes to talk to someone - you get uneducated responses with ‘I could care less what your saying’ attitude. The online chat designed extremely generic just to say it’s offered. So many banks to choose from don’t stand for this. Get a better experience because it’s not here.

Terrible. Went through a hard time financially and they added $140 worth of overdraft fees ($25 "extended overdraft fees" in addition to the $37 overdraft feesand they added back the $11 monthly service fee since I went under a certain amount. I had overdraft protection, but didnt know you can still get overdrafted if you have automatic payments (yes, my fault but I was sick and forgot to cancel that automatic payment...which was only $20). All happened within a month. Called them and explained my situation about being sick with covid and being out of work, but they would only reverse two of those charges and said "the computer charges it automatically. There is nothing we can do." Very unsympathetic and two of the reps were rude. Threatening to send collections after me. Had to spend grocery money to pay them.

Worst bank I've come across they charge multiple overdraft fees/late fees on the same transaction even if you only get paid at the beginning of the month like people on disability they basically steal from the US government and the poor and disabled

I have been with fifth third since 2017. They are a horrible bank. Customer service is horrible. Rarely can you speak to a human. And if you do, it is a 30-60 minute wait. I thought I would save myself some time by hopping on a chat. Wrong… that even took 30 minutes. The individual I spoke with took 3-5 minutes on average to respond, even when I told them it was a emergency since my card info had been breached. Needless to say I have a found a Credit Union that will be taking care of my banking needs from here on out. Cya 5/3.
