Someone was able to link to my bank and take out $400 and the bank let them. Luckily the person came in to give it back but payments that was made didn’t go through and no help from the bank. Afterwards, I kept getting charged overdraft fees when I had money in the bank for purchases. I talked to customer service to see if there was something wrong with the app because one day everything goes through with the card and there’s no negatives and I still have money. The customer service man decided to tell me that a card will go straight through. I told him that I used my card checked the app everything did and I was in the positive now I’m in the negative because something from today and my card payments has been sent back. He proceeded to tell me there’s nothing to about it and make sure there’s more money in the bank before purchases when there was money in the bank. I told him I’m closing my account and letting my people know what’s going on, his words was “okay, that’ll be fine”. Whoever is still with this bank good luck. If money goes missing after reading this and having time to close your account, don’t be mad at nobody but yourself, that money will be lost until the person comes up with the money giving it back.…show more

I did my research and FNBO Direct was the top rated bank in the country. I created an account and the first year or so everything went well. I thought that it would be wise to have all of our $ in one bank so I convinced my partner that we should move our money there.
We opened an account for him only and a joint account for the house/bills/etc. It has been an absolute nightmare! We deposited our work checks to the account and had to wait a week for them to be available and when I called, I was told up to 10 business days. WHAT? Even after checks from the same payor were deposited.
Setting up the account was ridiculous as well. I was an established member with 2 account and nothing negative. And yet I had to fill out an application as though I had no history with the bank. And I could not simply transfer & from my account to the new one. A third party handled the transfer from an FNBO account to an FNBO account. How is that convenient or customer friendly?
I just called to ask about our "joint" account. The only thing that is joint is the money. Bills that are pending & payees are not visible to both of us. Why a pending payment is not visible makes absolutely NO sense unless of course it's a way for the bank to make $ on overdraft fees.
Payees need to be entered twice - under the separate logins. NOT customer friendly. NOT convenient. NOT worth your time or effort.

I had picked up FNBO Direct a few months ago on a recommendation from friends. The interest rate attracted me as had the lack of monthly fees. It was extremely simple to setup the account and to transfer the money in. However, I began to run into issues getting the money back out; whether for bills or to transfer to other banks. The credit card companies would state the account number was wrong. Other banks would state that it was the wrong account, despite it already being verified and linked. Amusingly, as I stated before, you could transfer money in with no hassle. I don't recommend dealing with this company if you want smooth operations.…show more
This is an oversized bank. They cannot offer personal attention to customers. We had two major problems arise…once someone stole my checkbook, another time a utility company accidentally overcharged our account. Both times, we got everything straightened out, but First National was completely awful to work with. We had to fill out paperwork repeatedly, we had to pay fees for bounced checks while money was gone from our account, even though we proved that it wasn't our fault…what a costly mess.
Please choose a local, small bank instead. I did, and I couldn't be happier. At a small bank, you'll be treated as a person instead of a number.…show more
I had made a deposit into my checking account, and a few days later I checked my balance online, and the wrong amount had been deposited. I was missing almost $200 from the amount that I deposited! I went back down to my branch and told them about the problem, and had my deposit receipt with me. They corrected it immediately, and brought my account up to the amount that it should have been.
I absolutely love this bank. I have had it since I moved from Omaha to Dallas. The First National Southwest on Preston is the friendliest bank I've ever been. They greet me by name and ask about my kids. I never have to wait in line and they do not have a high turn over rate. They are same tellers and bankers. I wouldn't leave this bank even if I moved to a city that did not have a first national.…show more
I spent many years with First National Bank of Omaha because I loved the quality of service I got, and because of this, I got to see my checking account evolve over time, from being just paper checks and an ATM card to full service online banking. I got in on their online banking services right from when they were offered and even when they were just starting out, the service was robust and very easy for a technophobe like me to use. I also carried my mortgage through FNB of Omaha, and that was a process that never resulted in any kind of problems. It's a great bank and worthy of my business.…show more
I have been with First National Bank since my first job as a teenager. They have always been prompt and courteous to resolve and handle all issues. The best part is the use of use for their Bill Pay in which all of my checks and bills are drafted from my account directly to the company that needs to be paid. Also, there are many locations and ATMs around my area that make it very easy for me to do business as well as their hours of operation on weekend that have been a life saver for me! First National Bank has been fantastic to work with from day one. Staff is friendly and very helpful, and made setting up a checking account a breeze. This bank has been understaffed on occasion, hence the deduction of 1 star on customer service, but the lines haven't ever been too bad as a result, so I wouldn't let this discourage you. My favorite part of this bank, though, is their online banking services. The website is well designed, emphasizes security without being a hassle, and makes it easy to find the information you want. Per their recommendations, I 'went paperless' not long after opening my account, and it has been a great experience thanks to the excellent website. Overall I highly recommend this bank.…show more
Having my checking and savings account with First National Bank of Omaha is a joy. The customer service that's available is outstanding, whether you're setting up your first checking account, getting an auto loan or a mortgage for your first home.
