I've had some quirks but overall much more pleased than with the big banks. Checking is free. $2 a month for mailed statements which I don't need. Lost my debit card. It's all I use for daily expenses. They are slow when it comes to replacement and but can make you a replacement at the bank but only on certain days of the week. The other thing was their "partners" were sending my a whole lot of junk mail. It took a year of complaining but it finally stopped. The website has been down all morning.…show more
The San Diego area has quite a few options as far as credit unions go. Mission Federal seems to be one of the larger ones, and is one of two credit unions in San Diego that I have an account with. I have had nothing but awesome experiences with both of the credit unions, but if I had to pick one over the other it would be Mission Federal. Every time I go into my local branch, I experience nothing but the greatest customer service. The tellers are always smiling and ready to help when I need it. They are also very knowledgeable about the products and services offered by Mission Federal. If you are looking for a credit union on the San Diego area, I would definitely check out Mission Federal first.…show more
Mission credit union is the BEST. The people here are always SUPER friendly and their customer service is fantastic. Ive never had a problem with any bounced checks or late payments with my credit card and theyve helped improve my score so much in the past year. Everytime I walk in I feel so welcomed because its such a homey environment, and I always feel like Im taking care of. Not to mention their website is fantastic and easy to understand and use, even my grandma could figure it out! Mission credit union is definitely one of the best around and I will be a customer of theirs for years to come!…show more
When I moved to San Diego I did not know what bank I should use. My mother-in-law used Mission Federal Credit Union. I did not know anything about credit unions or how they differed from banks. I could not really find much difference at first. Upon opening my account and joining the credit union I had not had any banking experience as good as this one. They are always friendly, I never have to wait very long in line, and they cover my debit purchases up to 20 dollars without a fee if I happen to get overdrawn. Recently they have added a coin machine in the lobby you can use to cash in your coins. Most banks don't really like taking time to do that but they put in a machine. Pretty cool to be able to take your lose change in and get bills for it. If you are a member of the credit union it is free to use. Non members can use it for a fee of $2 which is a lot less than the 8 -10 percent other coin machines charge you. All said, this is a great credit union to do business with. I have had no problems at all with their services.…show more
I joined Mission Federal Credit Union a few months ago and I could not be happier. I use the one on Avocado Blvd. because it is near where I live, but I also hit the one near Grossmont as well.
Mission Federal lets you use their ATM with no fees. I have not had a bad experience with them so far. The employees are always happy and the location is bright and clean. One cool thing is they have a coin machine that lets you deposit right into your account! The thing I don't like about Mission Federal is that there aren't many branches in San Diego, even though they're SD based, so if you do not have one near where you work or live, you might consider another outlet.…show more
