Got charged a fee because I didn't write "mobile deposit" on the check. this was after it went through then they reversed it. I called and they refused to refund the fee even though it was a new process and no other financial or bank service I use requires this and I had been using their bank for over a decade at that point. for another incident help call I tried to describe my problem but the operator cut me off and kept explaining over me even after I asked him to listen to what I was saying as his explanation did not apply to my situation. I finally cut them off and made all my transactions use another bank. feels good to get rid of a load of useless deadweight.

New York Community Bank Checking Accounts Reviews
What's Your Rating?
I especially like the fact that New York Community Bank has no monthly fees for checking account customers and there is no minimum balance required. This is especially significant since most of the larger commercial banks in New York City impose fees on their checking amounts or require customers to keep a high balance in their accounts at all times, or else face monthly checking account fees.
I never encountered any problems with electronic deposits made to my New York Community Bank checking account. I pay most of my bills online and I have not had any problems with online banking.
Going to a New York Community Bank branch is also a great experience. Line and wait times are always short even during lunch hour. Rarely have I waited more than three minutes to see a teller. Their tellers generally are cheerful and helpful, plus the branches are open on Saturday. Prior to banking with New York Community Bank, I was banking with a large commercial bank in New York City where I generally had to wait on line 30 minutes or more during lunch hour. Some of my friends have also told me that some of the large New York City commercial banks are even charging customers a fee just to see a branch teller.
