We have our mortgage, checking and savings accounts at Old National in Winchester In. Every time I call the Winchester location I receive poor customer service. They are not helpful and do not have information needed. Twice I’ve been put on hold for long periods and then hung up on. Third call was given a customer service 800 number and held for 27 minutes before speaking with someone.
This is the worst bank I ever worked with. They bought out a bank that I actually liked. The crossover went terrible. They Still had not got my deposits right after 3 weeks. Yet they were very quick to tack on fees after fees for their mistakes. And the fee amounts were never the same, I question the amounts and I never got a response that I was happy with. Needless to say I am going to be leaving this bank.
40+ year customer with multiple accounts at this bank, $000s on account but 1 small account that went $9 over drawn while on vacation. Despite having multiple phone numbers and email addy on file with the bank, I found out they sent snail mail letters while racking up over $300 in fees in 2 weeks. Only reason i discovered the problem was checking in to a suspicious looking marketing email from this bank. Bank rep over the phone was very elusive before admitting the amount of fees they piled on, follow up call they were belligerent and bullied us into transferring money to pay their fees. Will cut my vacation short to pull my accounts.
Worst bank ever. I work for a small business, so my paychecks are handwritten. They always put "holds" on my check for days if i deposit it, which causes my bills to overdraw my account and for me to get slammed with fees. They say they are required to do it because of the Patriot Act and it is for my own protection. In the meantime, they are naking serious money off me in fees. I will be switching to another bank soon that has more customer friendly policies. I should not be penalized because my boss handwrites my checks!
I have not had good experiences with Anchorbank checking. A couple of years ago I had an unauthorized purchase on my checking card. I got a phone stating that I had over-drafted my account and was being charged an overage fee. I knew this couldn't be accurate so I when in to meet with someone in person. When I sat down to talk with (said person), she acted like I was lying and didn't want to help me. It wasn't until she pulled up my account that she realized the purchase was from overseas, where I clearly had never been. Thankfully they did resolve the issue which is why I'm giving them three stars. Unfortunately, I closed my account with them shortly after, because I felt belittled and disrespected by this clerk.
I opened a student checking account with Old National a year ago, right before I went to college. The services I have received so far have been outstanding. It was easy to set up direct deposit, mobile banking, and paperless notifications, which were all important to me. I especially find the mobile banking useful because I can check to see the funds I have available anytime before making large purchases. Additionally, the customer service I have received at both my home bank and my bank at school have been fabulous. Whenever I have something to deposit, I almost never happen to have my account number or bank card with me, and they are always friendly and able to look up my information for me. Additionally, since is my first experience with banking, my home banker had a long discussion with me when I opened the account to explain exactly how everything worked and make sure I understood all of the policies, fees, etc.
Honestly, I had a lot of trouble finding a good bank account due to some poor decisions I made in my past. Basically, I was on Chexsystems, and it was just nearly impossible to have a bank take a chance on me. Old National did. They started me on their 2nd chance program, but after six months I was able to transition to their standard plan. The service they offer is great, and the staff at my branch are second to none. I love my bank.
The AnchorBank Student Checking Account is extremely useful for students who are budgeting month to month. It has absolutely no minimum balance to avoid a monthly fee so if rent and/or other expenses are more than expected than you are not penalized for having a low balance. It is also nice to know that the debit card associated with the account is a visa, so it can be used almost everywhere. There is a nice special feature that allows you to withdraw from 2 Non-AnchorBank ATMs per month without a charge. Finally, because the account is through AnchorBank, you get their great customer service.
I I became an Old National customer a few years ago when they bought out my beloved Integra Bank. The transfer process was easy. I've had this account for several years now, and it has been both good and bad. I think the info on this page is incorrect. There are no monthly service fees as long as you maintain a minimum balance of $750. When I first got this account, the minimum balance was $500. They raised it about six months later. I think the minimum balance requirement is too high and I've been dinged with service charges several times, which really bothers me as we always have at least $650 in the account. Also, this account pays zero interest. Other than that, I haven't had any real problems with them. I love their online account access, and they do have a lot of ATM and branch locations. All in all, I would say this is a decent account, but I would consider switching to a bank with a lower monthly minimum balance.
I started using Old National Bank as a student at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. This was not my first checking account, but the employees at the bank must have thought it was. The customer service was anything but stellar. A typical visit to the bank included at least a 5 minute wait in the lobby through a zig zagging line you would normally see at an amusement park. I don't understand why they didn't have more tellers available at such a busy branch. I had an overdraft fee attached to my account when I deposited cash, and then later that day purchased a meal through my debit card. It took almost forty five minutes on the phone to get the charge dropped. I cant speak for every branch, but the Carbondale location would seemingly administer fees to students just to see what they could get away with. I switched banks shortly after the overdraft incident. I highly recommend using a different bank.
