OneAZ Credit Union Checking Accounts

I called in regarding setting up an account because of a promotional offer I saw. Out of the 5 separate times i called into their call center I got 3 different answers on the eligibility of the promotional offer. One said it was through an email I should've gotten (they didn't have a single thing of my personal information at this time), one said I had to go into the local branch to receive the promotional offer, the 3rd asked where i saw that offer, at which point i provided the exact URL for it and was then told the webpage was outdated even though the promotional offer explicitly said it would expire at the end of this month (these calls took place mid-month). The 4th time I got hung up on by a guy named Paul. The 5th time I got ahold of a woman named Wendy at the Tempe Branch. She took my sensitive personal information and then said she'd call back in 10 minutes with the account information. Its been over a week and still no call, so I called her. She had no record of me, did not remember our conversation, and had no idea where she put my sensitive information.

Ignore the petty reviews. I joined OneAZ last summer and have found them to be knowledgeable, and supportive. I have a free checking account, and 3 savings accounts. The Club Savings, and Your Savings offer a rate you can't find at other local credit unions. These savings accounts do not have ATM access, but allow you to deposit or withdraw, a CD does not allow that.
The checking account is your basic account you can find anywhere. The account alerts are better than other credit unions, but probably not as good as a bank. ATM and office access, that's where the challenge can be. I just wish they were a member of CO-OP Shared Branching and CO-OP ATM. I live in the Ahwatukee area and the closest OneAZ branches are Southern/Rural or Guadelupe/Arizona. If they were members of CO-OP I could use the TruWest ATM and Branch at Warner/Priest, an the Arizona Financial at 48th/Ray.
The access to US Bank ATMs is limited as US is the smaller of the big banks in the area

I processed a payment online, as I have for several years, with OneAZ Credit Union on August 29th, 2022 and it was noted payment would be received by August 31st, 2022 to my credit card company. The payment was noted to be digital (not by a check).
I received a late notice from the credit card company and called the credit card company on September 8th, 2022. The credit card payment was received by the credit card company on September 6th, 2022 by check (from OneAZ Credit Union). The DUE DATE was September 2nd, 2022.
I called One AZ Credit union on September 8th, and the representative (Adam) who wouldn't provide last name. Adam said that their records showed my credit card company received payment on September 1st.
I asked if he could email me proof of this, he put me on hold, and said I can get proof on line.
I went on line with "Adam" on the phone, I could not find any information except that the check was processed on September 1st, 2022.
He was caught in a lie - I said to Adam, " ... you are being very dishonest or you are very stupid....".
This has happened several times.
I do not recommend any one to use this company.
It is time for us to close out our accounts with OneAZ Credit Union and go to another "bank"

I want to thank Amelia at Flagstaff';s OneAZ's credit union on Butler. I had several transactions to address, and she handled all of them in a way that was knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, friendly and professional. She is a real gift to your credit union.

I have had an account with Arizona State Employees CU which is now One AZ since 1979. I have never had issues or filed fraudulent activity complaint. In June, Cash App transactions appeared on my account. I provided One AZ documentation and information regarding my conversations with Cash App. Someone some how had gotten into my old account (I hadn't used in over six months) and Cash App alleged it was from my phone. Asurion replaced my previous phone which had the Cash App when the screen cracked. I took out the SMI card and I have a new phone and never downloaded Cash App onto the phone. One AZ has taken Cash App's side and now reversing the credit. After over 40 years of loyal membership, I'm told that I'm not believed and the women on the phone doesn't believe that someone may have hacked my old phone. I'm opening a new account at another credit union. Good Bye One AZ. Also filing a complaint with AZ Attorney's Office and Corporation Commission.

They claim to not have fees for student accounts however that's bologna. My paypal was hacked and for every attempted transfer they charged me a $35 fee racking up quite the bill. I went to the branch in Chino Valley and was sent to collections instead of them trying to figure out the situation. Then they decided to take the over $700 in bogus bank fees out of my grandmother's account with no notice ahead of time. Definitely would not reccomend this scam of a bank.

Tucson AZ branch on Alvernon Way ......If I could leave a 0 star, I absolutely would. Monica the assistant “manager” and I use quotations due to the fact that a manager is supposed to manage a situation with good virtue and empathy. Basically after telling me I had 2,000 worth of unresolved issues in collections. Obviously you guys have a process and I’m sure that it is based on a set of parameters you have to follow. I’m not mad at the decision. I’m mad at how absolutely horrifying her customer service was. At one point making a statement “ well you make 3.5 k a month (in a very condescending manner), shouldn’t you be able to pay off your debts “ not knowing my personal situation as a single father with 3 kids and the fact that COVID has destroyed our sources of income. You guys can’t approve my checking account and that’s fine, but at least have the due diligence to tell me without making me feel like I’m somehow irresponsible and worthless. I almost cried walking to my car and had to call my wife to calm my self down at how infuriating that was. Jeff Nicely was a good manager and that this place would take care of me especially with the fact I had 2000 dollars ready fo deposit. I plan on making those debts of 2000 disappear through a bank but that was just insane and I really hope who ever in charges sits down with Monica and explains the emotion and impact it has when you tell people the news she had to deliver. I would’ve been fine if she explained it in a positive manner but when I asked her the questions I did and what I could do to mitigate it, it looked liked she wasn’t even looking or listening to what I had to say. How she became a manager, I don’t know but I truly believe she needs to be re-evaluated for the position she holds when it comes to dealing with customers. Everyone else was nice to me and cordial but Monica has some serious things she needs to work out when it comes to convey bad news to people who are already going through a tough time trying to open an account and provide for their family. This bank is so friendly and helpful. We always feel at home when we bank here. We have had loans which were so fair on interest and basic help with figuring out credit building. Love the tellers...so friendly.

When I moved I needed a small local credit union to do banking with. I was done with big banks, so credit unions were the way to go. I asked around and a few people I knew were with Arizona State Credit Union so I decided to give them a try. They are a great small credit union. They really treat you right and won't cause you any headaches. They don't nickel and dime you and try to rip you off with as many fees as they can like big banks. Overall I've been very satisfied with them.
