Regions Bank Checking Accounts

It can't be worse, communication, huge lines in branches .
inexperienced staff , They can't solve even a little problem. Broken ATMs.

Regions bank did not fully close my dead parents account, despite me following all the steps. They left the Zelle account open and made it almost impossible to close, essentially holding my phone number hostage. They insisted that if my dead mother could not come into the bank (they repeated this several times) that I would have to fly 1500 miles to remedy a problem that was their fault. It took 2.5 hours on the phone and successive levels of “supervisors”. The account number was no longer in their system and they basically wanted me to go forever having Zelle hold my number hostage. At one point, they even called Zelle to check my story. Nothing like having to repeat “but my mother is dead” over and over AND being called a liar. They also doubted me being the power of attorney, repeatedly saying “IF” I did have POA. They treated me like a criminal instead of a daughter that just wanted my phone number removed from a supposedly “closed” account.
My parents estate has been settled for over a year and my biggest nightmare was having something unsettled (despite the assurances from my lawyer saying everything was complete). This played into my nightmares and forced me to call into a bank I swore I would never deal with again.

The worst bank I’ve ever had!! Their app never works when you need to make a mobile deposit, and when it does they charge you a percentage of your check to do so which most banks don’t do…and it’s not like it costs a couple dollars it can take a decent chunk out depending on your check. Then when I go to a physical bank they have the nerve to tell me I have to tell them I want it in my account RIGHT NOW. F***** ridiculous joke of a bank, not to mention when you make a mobile deposit it doesn’t even work, such a waste of time.

I been with this bank 7-8 years. They used to be so good now it went to crap.the customer service is bad.they told me I couldn't cancel till the weekend was over and that my pending would all have to be gone.i told the lady today is Monday what's the problem.then she proceeded to tell me that she wasn't don't talking.now I have to wait till 8 o'clock tonight to cancel my account.she was rude and after I told her about me leaving she got more like she didn't care.also I kept on getting fraud and other random charges to my account and they can't take them out.but we go thu this everytime.i get fraud get me a new card and the fraud keeps getting out of my account. So this is a sign from a customer who been with regions for so long.DONT BANK WITH THEM ITS NOT WORTH THE TIME.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...it might seem okay in the beginning but just wait.i have friends who banked with them and left along time ago.i wish I did too.

The good news: the people are great and the locations are convenient. The bad news. I really worry about the technology they're using behind the scenes, and wonder how old it is. It never really works. Every time I'm at a branch talking to a customer service person they have to apologize because their computers are freezing. The ATMs are frequently down, and their two step verification is awful. Nearly every time I try to log in I have to do two step verification, despite the fact that I am on my home computer that only I use. Once I had to do two step verification on my phone, where they required that I enter the security code that they sent.....to my phone. Granted these are minor inconveniences but are they signs of a deeper problem? In 2022 there was an airline that had to cancel 16,000 flights because they had never updated their software, is Regions on the verge of a similar meltdown?

Horrible customer service. One person working to assist multiple customers with important issues. 3rd bank same issue. Each bank same issue. Online is even worse.

This is one of the worst banks ever. when you Zelle money which is supposed to be instant. They instantly take your cash, but deliver it three days later. When you go in to the bank, there are no officers that can help you. now one to approve a check, Its like the dark ages only darker.
Bad service, bad everything. They need to go under so that at least we can all breath easier. Do not open an account with them, take your money and run!

For a bank that has 1400 branches they operate like a small town bank. It takes forever for debits and deposits to clear. Everything is pending over weekends and holidays. It takes them hours if not a day to process an instant transfer. Every other bank I have used, transaction are processed 24/7. Only good thing is they don't charge some of the fees other banks do.

I've never had so many issues accessing my OWN account, funds, literally anything until I banked with Regions. They are absolutely awful I have no clue what the Customer Service is for besides being able to change my password. I can't even get my statements without having to go inside a branch due to "security reasons" which there are zero branches in the state I live in. So great strangers can't get my statements but guess what neither can the owner of the account! No one needs my PAST bank statements but ME. I've been to a number of banks where my accounts been closed and I can call and get my statements. With Regions you have to pay for them but even though it's a bank, they won't take your card over the phone. I got transferred FOUR times customer service saying a bank teller manager can do that for you, then the bank manager says oh customer service can get that for you, only to continue to be transferred because NO ONE knows what they are doing. The dumbest "bank" i've ever had to bank with.

I opened an account online with $50. I never used the account for 6 months and went back into the bank to receive my $50. Regions said they charged me $8 a month for "no activity" and closed my account. All this activity without ONE communication to me.
