Yesterday I went into the Enciy office to depute 2 charges on my checking account..I spoke to the Consierage she treated me Rude!...She made it seem like it was my problem that the account was Compromised! Rude to say the least!!..I was thinking to withdraw my account but I needed to wait till the dispute was over SDCCU needs to Educate their staff on how to treat people with respect especially People with Disability’s
Anytime I visit the tellers for either a deposit, withdraw, or cash exchange, their procedures are inconsistent. Sometimes they ask for ID, other times they need my bank card, other times they don’t ask for anything. When I asked the last bank teller woman why the inconsistencies, she snapped at me and seemed severely bothered that I was asking. She never offered an explanation and just said “that’s the way it is”. Well, that’s not an okay reason in my book and I could also do without the attitude. Looking around for other banks now.…show more
I goofed, moved my small business account here so I had a close office for deposits. One major criteria I interviewed them on was the need for online bill pay. I now have 5 hours of time talking to the SDCCU tech people. Unfortunately they are not the tech people. Bill pay is contracted thru an outside vendor whom I am not able to talk to. The system still does not work. They even tell me that it is my problem because I have not enrolled, yet they do not respond when given a screen shot of the bill pay logged in screen. Still waiting for any of the three return phone call promises that have been made the last 10 days. Even the branch manager says she has no authority or power to do anything to correct the issue. I am looking elsewhere…show more
All of my experiences with SDCCU are reminiscent of the nickel and dime tactics of WAMU or B of A. Unless you make a decent amount of money (to cover random charges) this may not be the bank for you. Beware!
Has anybody read the book "Bad Banks: Greed, Incompetence and the Next Global Crisis"? You won't need to if you bank with SDCCU because you get to experience it all right here. I've been a member for over 10 years and this bank has gone from ok to bad to just plain horrible. They try to catch people with the whole "Everything you get at a big bank, made easier." punchline. In reality, they're just as bad, if not worse than big banks. There's ridiculous fees for everything (and only getting higher year after year), terrible customer service (their slogan "Take care of all your life’s banking needs, from a place that feels like home." is BS)- they will fight you even when it's obvious their services are mediocre, at best. And then theres this little incident that happened yesterday...
They decided to do maintenance on some or all their accounts and this caused my account to get declined at a restaurant I visited citing "insufficient funds" even though there is more than enough money in my checking and savings accounts. I was locked out from accessing my account online or through their app and I couldn't get a hold of anyone because, of course, they're closed on Sunday afternoon. So after the embarrassment of getting my card declined in front of my friends (whom I was treating by the way!), I had to spend the entire day in anguish because there was no way to find out what was happening to my account! Terrible! When I called them this morning they just said "oh, we were running some routine maintenance, that's why your card was declined but should be fine now". Seriously, don't waste your money or time here. If you are able to, open an account with Navy Federal or Mission Federal. Have heard much better things from those banks. I'm moving to Navy Federal and will be happy never to deal with these guys again.…show more
Stay away from this institution, the worst customer service, I will fire them this coming Monday. Employees totally forget where their paycheck is coming from. Take the control and if you get any kind of bad attitude, fire them is not the only institution around, thanks GOD.
Their online banking SUCKS. It's always bugging out and shutting down for no apparent reason. Makes me feel worried about the security of my banking information. Also, calling them takes forever - expect to be on hold for at least 20 minutes every time you call..
I made the unfortunate choice of closing my account here and switching to Bank of America, since I moved out of the county and haven't settled on a place I'd like to stay for a few years. I figured having a nationally-accessible bank would be the best choice. I sure miss being able to use SDCCU. The online platform made it easy and accessible. Anytime I've gone in person, the teller was friendly and helpful, and made whatever transaction as quickly as possible. Overall, I had no problems while I was a member at SDCCU. I remember there being no fees, even when I over-drafted accidentally, the money was transferred from my savings account automatically without any fee--how it should be done!…show more
Very overall great credit union and iv'e been very happy here, the only problem iv'e had overall using this credit union, is some places my debit card wouldn't work, its not that I didn't have money in my account, some places said to me they don't take this certain credit unions card regardless of it saying visa or whatever, so overall good company, just cant access my money every around my city so kinda annoying.…show more
Having been a member of a number of different banks, I switched to San Diego County Credit Union after my traditional bank started raising their rates for service. I had never been a member of a credit union and I was not sure what to expect. Wow, it is just like any other bank but I have free checking! I also have noticed that they will spend as much time as you need once you are at the teller window. This can be an issue for those in line wanting the line to move quickly, but this is how you do great customer service....take care of your customers.
Once I had an issue with a check and its validity. It had gotten wet and the teller thought it might be fake. I asked that she get her manager and all three of us spoke about it. I was about ready to blow a fuse when the manager said that she would cash it – it was over $500. I was happy and relieved. The next time I was in the branch, I spoke to the manager and thanked her for her trust in me.…show more
