It looks like it was in the middle of 2016 that everything changed for this Credit Union, and they went to crap... Suffice to say, I'm closing out my accounts and going to a place where I'm valued as a customer and you can speak to REAL people for service, not into a squawk box... Good bye Suncoast and good riddance!
Horrible. Closed my account without notice. Took my money and never even apologized. Never offered to reinstate accounts and return funds. Bad customer service. Filed complaint with federal regulators.
I deposited a check and waited 9 days. I was supposed to be able to spend the money today but they extended the wait time. I do not appreciate having to jump through hoops to use my own money. I should have cashed the check at a check cashing place and deposited the cash and avoid all this
I have been banking with Suncoast Schools Credit Union for over 13 years and I have never really had any negative experiences. The customer service is outstanding the bankers and tellers always seem to have an upbeat positive attitude. I have gotten car loans as well and the interest rate was unbelievably low. They also have a great children's savings plan that really gets kids excited and motivated to save money. I couldn't imagine banking with a conventional bank with all their outrageous fees. I have learned to save and budget thanks to Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union.
Suncoast is a great credit union. I was a teacher in Florida, and my membership included free checking with free unlimited checks. They also had those coinstar coin counters that you could use free of charge (unlike in the grocery stores). The staff was always friendly and helpful, and the lines were never long. I also liked the perks like free money orders for members, and inexpensive cashier's checks. This was a great bank. I only left because we moved to a different state, and I wanted a checking account with a nearby branch.
I Have been a customer for over 5 years already. I love this Credit Union, i visit the branch at least once a day. Once i deposit my checks they go through the following day with no problems. The customer service is great as well, if i never need help i know i can count on the customer service on phone or in the local branch. I look forward to staying with this branch and haven't had any problems so far from the 5 years that iv'e been with Suncoast. I even got my wife to apply for this bank because it's that good. Overall this bank is just what i need, i can look up my balance online or on my mobile phone and i don't have to go to the bank just to see my transactions.
When I moved locations I needed a local branch bank I could go to. I had enough of big banks so credit unions it is. I went with Suncoast Credit Union and have been very satisfied. These credit unions really know how to treat their members. No crazy monthly fees or anything like that, just the way a bank should be in my opinion. Overall, if you live in the area Suncoast Credit Union is a great bank to be with.
I don't know who these people are who had good experiences with this bank (and I do mean 'bank'), but God bless 'em. I have had nothing at all but grief from them. After 15 years of being a member, I am finally AWAKE to the fact that our relationship won't ever get better. Yes, that's right. I was looking for a relationship. This bank (and I do mean 'bank'!) is really greedy. I guess I do have some time to get into details. Somehow, my papyal debit got tied to my savings, not my checking. So there was no overdraft protection. Then paypal changed the site, and I couldn't find it to shut it off. Of course, I get your very typical "Oh, that's a COURTESY, you see... we charged you $27 so that you were not super embarrassed that your $3.00 latte charge did not go through." Of course, now it's a $30 latte. I would not have been embarrassed, I would have been grateful to have a bank that watched my money. But this is not the default. This is what I mean when I say that someone at this bank (and I do mean BANK!) woke up one morning and said, "Greed is good." Majority rule, minority rights. But most institutions these days don't care if you're in the minority, your voice will not be heard over the thunderous roar of the crowd. So they didn't help me at all. I mean not even a little bit. How many charges did they hit me with? Some 12 or 13. How many did they roll back? Zero. "Oh, we're not your friend, we're your bank." No, you're not my friend OR my bank, now you're just in my rearview mirror and something I'll be trying to forget about.
I have been a member of Suncoast Credit Union for ten years. There have never been any issues or concerns with them. Their customer service is stellar and they are able to assist with any needs in a very timely manner. I especially like the fact that their fees have also remained low. As an added bonus, their scorecard rewards for using your debit card are amazing. I have been able to use them for a Keurig coffeemaker, a 32 inch flat screen TV and a brew station. I have since moved from Florida to Georgia but still remain with Suncoast in spite of the fact that they do not have any branches in GA. Their mobile app makes it very easy to deposit funds so there is really no need to visit a branch in person. This is a credit union that can be trusted!
