My first and only bank is Susquehanna Bank. My family has used them for years. Although the name changed a few times, and with the new merger with BB&T, their customer service has always remained top notch. Checking has been easy to keep track of with online banking, even though it might not be as developed as some of the other big banks. Susquehanna is great and I suggest looking into opening an account there if you are near one.…show more
I use Susquehanna for checking and a line of credit. They have been nothing but helpful. The branch personnel are very nice, phone customer service is easy to get through, online banking doesn't stack up to the big boys but it works and does what you need. I have had to use the customer service line over the phone several times and love that there is no wait. There is always a big wait with the big banks so it is nice to still have local banks that value serving their customers and being responsive. No complaints here. Good bank.…show more
Susquehanna is one of the few brick and mortar banks that still have free checking -- probably their best feature. Customer service in the branches is also excellent, very friendly and helpful. However, their online banking system is archaic and online bill pay is not always reliable. But if you need a bank with an actual branch, this is a good choice for one with no fees.
I had a terrible experience with Susquehanna, I was in the process of moving from NJ to Ohio and on the turnpike in the middle of the night when they cancelled my debit card due to a limit on the number of days on a temporary card. Stuck on the turnpike with a moving truck and no access to the money in my account for gas I was told by their customer service that I could do nothing about it until the next morning in branch. The nearest branch office was more than an hour drive from where I was. I was stranded, money in my acount and dealing with uncaring service reps. Overall a very poor experience which I decided to close my account for. I don't recommend Susquehanna at all.…show more
Overall I would rate the quality of Susquehanna Bank's checking service as wonderful. There are no ATM fees from their own ATMs. It is easy to make deposits and withdrawals without any hassle, The online banking features are great and I love the fact that I can transfer money from one account to another with just the click of a button. I also have the overdraft protection that sweeps my savings account if I am overdrawn which has saved me several times. I have a senior account which draws interest and has no fees. Unfortunately, it is usually only a penny or so a month. The application process was simple and took little time and the staff at all branches are very friendly.…show more
I have been using Susquehanna Bank for over 10 years. Signing up for my account was really simple and they were very helpful. I love the bill pay feature; it helps me remember when bills are due and I can pay them all in one place instead of going to a bunch of different websites to pay them. Every time I go into the branch everyone is really nice and a pleasure to deal with. Setting up direct deposit was fast and easy as well. Having a good bank just helps to make things more simple and I never have to worry about my money.…show more
Overall I would rate the quality of Susquehanna Bank's checking services as good. For a checking account, it does everything that you would expect it to, and at least in the area there are not any ATM fees from their own ATMs. There is nothing that is special about how the account is managed, other than it is fairly easy to make deposits and withdraws without any hassle. The online banking features are basic at best, and you can see what is in your account, but little beyond that. I have a senior account which has interest placed on the amount in my checking account, but regardless of the amount in my account it never seems to acquire more than a penny per month, so it is basically a moot point. The application process was simple, and I have no complaints at this time, other than it is only a regional bank.…show more
I had a checking account with Susquehanna Bank for two years. The first year, everything was fine. After I had had the account open for a year, I started having problems. Every few months, they would put a hold on my debit card to make sure that I was the one who was using it. I had to call the bank and verify my last few transactions to get the hold taken off. This always happened at an inconvenient time, like after I had been waiting on line for twenty minutes to purchase something. I closed the account after this happened a few times, I think they should investigate possible situations like this without inconveniencing customers, since there is an 800 number that customers can call to report a lost or stolen debit card.…show more
I have been with Susquehanna Bank since I was 16 years old. I am now 29. It has changed names a few times but the service I receive has solidified my patronage. No matter which branch I go to on any given day, they know my name without even looking at a computer. They actually make it a point to get to know you. My car insurance company double charged me 1 month which put my account in the negative. Here comes an over draft fee right? Well, the next day I went in to deposit money to bring my account back into the black, a lady looked at my information and said "wait this wasn't your fault". She took away the over draft fee and called my insurance company for me to straighten things out. I was going to do that when I got back home but she took it upon herself to do it for me. Now that is going above and beyond. I will never go anywhere else!…show more
