Wings Financial Credit Union Checking Accounts

I have been a member since it was NWA federal credit union, used to be a great credit union. Now I find it totally horrible, grew to big I guess. Filled with lazy stupid employees...

I joined Wings 3 years ago after getting tired of Wells Fargo games after hearing from friends and family how good they were and at first they were good to work with but as time has gone on the customer service has gone down hill they didn't return my calls about simple banking questions .And now their new mobile deposit policy of holding your check for four business days before releasing funds is ridiculous and a way for them rack up overdraft fees although this has not happened to me yet . I can see this happening at some point in the future . However it is costing me money every month in late fees to my mortgage company because they are holding the money for my house payment .I have talked with them both on the phone and in person at one of there branches but to no avail . They are getting to be more like the bigger lending institutions all they care about is the bottom line and not their customers and this has become very clear just by the way i was treated . On a side note I took a few moments to read some of the other reviews posted and I noticed that Wings has not responded to any of the reviews posted good or bad .which just reaffirms my beliefs I hope who sees this review finds it helpful .

Almost every friday night i get overdraft fees. I do my banking daily and am definitely not without funds. They will not reverse fees. I am not in the wrong, so they do what they want. It was a great place until COVID. Now they are taking fees for no reason. Coincidence its only on friday nights?

When you change your address online, they do not change your mailing address. There is no mention of this on their website. They scammed me with fees for an invalid address.

If you are looking for a hometown feel do not bank at Wings Financial Credit Union. I have banked here for some time and their new policies are written to just make you a number in their algorithms. So disappointed and sad that a bank I was proud of is now treating their customers as though they are not trustworthy with a mobile deposit from the United States Treasury without a 7 day hold on my account. I may not have a lot of money, but what I work hard for should be mine. Their advertisements state their mobile banking is like going to a branch is false starting June 2022. Beware so you are not surprised.

Wings allowed money to be moved into a fraudulent account through western union. Don't use wings. Go somewhere else to do your business.

The customer service is absolutely terrible. For a company that prides itself on making its customers happy, I've never had a worse experience with a bank. I had fraud on my account and I just keep getting transferred to the incorrect departments. I used the automated system to get me to the fraud department, then the fraud department proceeded to tell me I need to talk to member services to report additional fraud charges. Does that make any sense? I receive no help from the customer service supervisors as well. Supervisors refused to stay on the phone to make sure I got to the correct person as they kept transferring me to people that couldn't help.

Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere.

I have been a member for three decades, but that does not seem to matter to this credit union. I joined it when I was a county employee back in the 1980s, and received good customer service until recently. I used to enjoy going to the Minnetonka branch because it still has human beings that you can talk to about your accounts and discuss new options. However, some of the newer employees provide terrible customer service. I called the branch to request a stop payment order on a check and, after being treated rudely by the person I was speaking to I asked to speak with the manager because I questioned that accuracy of the information that I got from the employee. It didn't make any sense to me that nothing could be done to stop the payment until I came into the credit union to sign a form or the credit union mailed it to me to sign and return. I was put on hold waiting for the employee's "supervisor", but after a long time on hold the employee came back on line and said that the supervisor refused to speak with me to answer my question, and that the supervisor agreed with what the employee said. Terrible customer service and deplorable management. They clearly don't care if I take my business elsewhere.
