This Alliant Visa has a cap of $10,000 spending per billing period (per month) with earning 2.5% cash back, but let's be honest, the average Joe is NOT going to hit that ceiling so think of this as a no-limit kind of card (considering if you did spend over $10k in a month, you'd still earn the base 1.5% cash back). You'll earn the Tier 1 - 2.5% if you meet the requirements per month (maintaining an average daily balance of $1,000+ in your checking, signing up for e-statements AND have at least one direct deposit per month). If you don't do that, you'll earn the base level (Tier 2 rating) 1.5% cash back.
Solid 2.5% earnings on anything and everything with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee, makes this the perfect all-around card to have in your physical or digital wallet, always, including trips out of the country!
If you have two little ones in daycare like I do, and daycare allows payment via credit card, this is the perfect one to do so! Paying over $1,700 a month with this card alone, earns me over $500 a year, just from this!
Better yet, pair this card with your 5% earnings cards like the Discover It, Chase Freedom Flex or Citi Custom Cash, and/or your US Bank Cash+ Visa (5% on Utilities) and you're GOLDEN!
On Aug 11, Alliant did not approve a $300 charge for a tracfone. I had checking, savings and credit card accounts with them. They texted me to see if it was a valid charge and I said yes. They then told me to call them (wait time is crazy) I told them to authorize the charge or I would close my accounts. They didn't, so I electronically transferred my funds. They sent me a physical check ($500) for the remaining funds, a week or so later. Told me I had a zero balance.
On Oct 5th they told me I was delinquent for a $36 charge that came in AFTER I closed my accounts. Their mistake, but I would still pay it if they waived the late fee. I told them that this was the first notice I received of a charge. Spent all afternoon on the phone with them. They told me to overnight them the full amount plus fees (by the 8th) or there would be a 2nd $25 fee.
I would avoid this crummy credit union like the plague....

The card offers a good rebate but extremely poor and slow customer service. The card also has no security features resulting in lots of fraudulent charges.

Very slow processing of applications, with process failures along the way. I had to call multiple times to get them to move the process to the next step, only to be asked to resubmit documents that had been previously provided. In two occasions, poorly trained staff requested financial documents over (unencrypted) email, without any consideration of the security implications, even after I highlighted the risks.

Alliant struggles with fraud reports. My card was stolen. Alliant called me to report suspicious charges, which I confirmed. Alliant immediately refunded $1000 in fraudulent charges. After that, things went badly.
1) Their representative refused to go over the list of charges with me, leaving another $2000 in fraud on my bill. 2) Alliant allowed the card to be used again the next day for an additional $400 in fraudulent charges. 3) After two weeks, several phone calls, and multiple e-mails, I have still not been able to talk to a supervisor about the issue. 4) I asked what would happen if I withheld payment for the fraudulent charges. Alliant's representative said they would report it to credit bureaus as non-payment. 5) I have no idea if Alliant is ever going to refund the fraudulent charges.
I have been using this credit union for over 45 years. They have always been a top notch banking facility. I highly recommend them to all.

Miserable technology and customer service. I had accrued a significant cash back balance, which decided to use as statement credit to offset a statement balance (I pay off my balance each and every month). Entered the cash back balance transfer to statement credit (and received confirmation) on November 20, which did not post until December 14. This inexplicable delay pushed me past the statement payment due date (December 8), and Alliant assessed interest charges, which they would NOT remove (their response being that the cash back statement credit can take up to TWO billing cycles!!). I cancelled the card and will no longer do business with Alliant Credit Union.

They literally says that on the website before you redeem it. In black and white, it says redemption of statement credit can take up to two billing cycles and cannot be used to satisfy your minimum payment requirement. Not their fault you were too lazy to read. You could have just redeemed it into your account which only takes a few days as opposed to two billing cycles.

Great Card to have for huge savings everyday. A must have to save on all personal expenses as it's been a life saver and good all around card.
I have a used truck loan at Marine Credit Union with a 4.9 interest rate, credit cards with PenFed Credit Union. I have been with Alliant Credit Union the longest and its really hard to get approved for anything with good credit. To me they are totally worthless. I'm not sure why anyone does business with them. They say on most website reviews they are horrible but a few give them a great rating . I found out those with the great ratings are getting a commission on you joining. DON'T JOIN, there are so many other really good Credit Unions that really give you quality personal business. I highly recommend looking into PenFed

The starting credit limit for the Alliant Cashback Visa Signature card is $10,000. That's the amount everyone who's approved for the card is guaranteed to get.
In time, you could qualify for a credit limit increase by always paying your bills in full by their due date and by improving your credit score and income.
An excellent credit score is needed to apply for the Alliant Visa Signature credit card. But this doesn't mean that your credit score alone will guarantee your approval. The issuer will also look at your income and debts to decide if you're a good fit for this card.
*Tier One Rewards: Earn 2.5% cash back on your first $10,000 monthly eligible purchases and earn 1.5% cash back on your monthly eligible purchases above $10,000. Terms apply.
Tier One Rewards Terms: In order to be eligible for Tier One Rewards the cardholder must meet the requirements for an Alliant High-Rate Checking account each month of the preceding calendar quarter and maintain an average daily balance of $1,000 or more in their Alliant High-Rate Checking account for the preceding calendar quarter.

The Alliant Cashback Visa® Signature Credit Card's foreign transaction fee is 0%. That makes it an ideal travel companion because you won't be charged extra when using your card in another currency. And for the same reason, it's also a great choice for online purchases from international merchants.
The Alliant Credit Union Visa Signature card mainly uses the TransUnion credit bureau for approval. But this doesn't mean it can't pull your report from the other major credit bureaus Experian and Equifax.
When it comes to reporting your financial activity, this card reports to all three major credit bureaus on a monthly basis.
