I have been with AMEX for 33 years. Gold Card holder. Prior Costco account $30k limit. I applied for this card because "they" said it was the best for balance transfers. Was approved with a $1,000 limit. Asked for an increase they said $3,000. My 33 years of history, great credit rating and prior accounts meant nothing. I cancelled it and plan on cancelling my gold card. AMEX is not what they used to be.

I applied for Blue Cash Everyday card and got approved for $10,000 credit limit. After 12 months they automatically increased by credit limit to $15,000. I had to use $1000 in the first 3 months for the welcome bonus. They also offered me 0% APR for 15 months. Now i have around 22% APR. I called Amex customer service and asked them if they could reduce my APR as I was handling my credit card
pretty good, they asked me to wait for few months as they might offer me good APR. You guys can use my link to get a welcome bonus.

I applied for Blue Cash and what I got don't really what AMEX put into advertisement. No 150 $ promotion offer after you spent 1000 $ also no 0% APR for 12 month they gave me 24.99 % from first billing month. No balance transfer offer. I stop trust American Express. I used to be customer for couple years and never had late payment always pay balance fully. Firs time America Express do bad for
me at this hard time for every one thought corona virus crisis. Very disappointing.… show more

Despite having good credit and a high credit limit. The balance transfer limit is $5,000, which is not stated in their card agreement condition and terms. The disclosure state "up to eligibility and credit limit" is false. The requested limit was well under 75% of credit limit. Save yourself the hassle, avoid this card if you would like a proper balance transfer card.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT CARD!!! They will promise you so many things and will not keep their word. You will deal with headaches and a lot of back and forth with representatives changing their story every time. I recommend Discover, better customer service and they will give you what they promise.

I love AMEX, this is my 2nd time with them, great to be back at home! Credit limit was generous at $2,000, then after 61 days, used the little known 3x credit limit increase, sure enough, went to $6,000. After 6 more months, asked for $7,500 & got it.
As added perks, AMEX BCE cardholders gets an Experian FICO score, refreshed monthly, in addition to a no cost ShopRunner membership, where one can order from many
participating stores & get 2 day business shipping. Think of the money saved in shipping fees, there's something for everyone. Of course, this doesn't include Amazon.
In the less than a year of having the card, still in the 0% promo, have racked enough points to redeem for two payments (or statement credits). Some may call it a con, the minimum payment is $35, or less if the balance is below that.
The AMEX site is also very user friendly & easy to navigate. I highly recommend the BCE card for everyday needs, and families can double the rewards with the upgraded card which comes with a $95 annual fee. The only places where rewards are the lowest are warehouse clubs (Costco) & supercenters (Walmart), yet one still gets 1% back at these places.
I don't leave home w/out my AMEX BCE card.… show more

I applied and was approved for the American Express Blue Cash Card. But the opening available credit limit is only 5 hundred dollars! Discover and Capital One opened my accounts with available credit limits of 10 thousand dollars! I'm very Disappointed in this card, and will probably Cancel the card before I receive it!

I am all-in with American Express!
I went years paying for everything with cash & debit cards, and had no credit cards. l work an average job, have no debt and pay every bill on time, because I was raised that way. Last year I was at my bank for unrelated business, and was asked if I was interested in applying for a credit card, I said "sure, why not?". Shortly after, the "declined" letter
came in the mail, Annoyed, I checked my credit online and discovered that I have no credit history and NO FICO score at all, zero!
On a whim and in total disregard to online advice, I applied for an American Express Blue Cash Everyday card. Amex quickly responded and wanted to check my income taxes, so I printed & signed the form. When I mailed it, I also included a short personalized letter to them explaining why my credit history was basically empty, that I owned my vehicles out-right & had no debt, and that I wanted to become a trusted Amex customer and start getting credit for my responsibility.
Three weeks later to the day, I got a welcome email! They had accepted me, and with a nice big-boy credit limit! I was so elated that I even bragged about it at work, and they couldn't believe that I got approved for an Amex card with no FICO score! Perhaps I got lucky, but they put their trust in me, and I am loyal to them for that. So far, I have nothing but good things to say about American Express. I called them and they were super-friendly, too.
My tip for people in situations like mine is to write American Express a (short) personal letter and sign your name to it, in addition to only clicking buttons on a computer screen and filling out forms.
I learned my lesson about credit, too! Maintaining excellent credit is my new passion. My wife is already sick of watching the credit videos with me on YouTube!… show more

I was just approved for the Blue Cash Everyday card with an initial limit of 6k. I was hoping for 2k so they have exceeded my expectation right off the bat. My credit score is slightly just over 750. I've received pre-approved offers before from the Blue Cash & Preferred cards but disregarded them but I decided to give them a try this time and I'm glad I did. I will submit an updated review
in approximately 6 month but for now I give them 5 stars. I've already transferred a balance upon signing up and received a $60 credit just for waiting for my card to come in the mail which will cover my transfer fee. I'm looking forward to making this card my everyday card and reap the cash back rewards for what I use most, groceries and gas. I've also talked to customer service a couple of times and used their online chat and all times they were very helpful.… show more

My American Express card has served me well for over 6 years now. I initially signed up for it because of the great rates and the points incentives. I have stayed with them because of their customer service and their willingness to help out when I am in a jam. Their points system is pretty straightforward and has many versatile uses.

Be warned. They offer you a hefty credit limit initially, which I used to transfer balances from 3 cards onto, which saved me a ton of money. Then within the next 15 months they gradually kept reducing my credit limit, which caused my credit score to keep reducing. Given I was never late on a single payment, this was uncalled for. They send you am email telling you that you can ask them to review
their decision, which amounts to them giving you 30-60 days to pay most if not all of your balance off in full. Ridiculous. I can't wait to have it all paid off so I can let them wonder where I went.… show more

Careful! May damage your credit history and credit rating when using auto pay!!
Have had the Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express set up using auto pay each month to make the minimum payment for years. Worked hard to improve my credit to qualify for this card (and like most AMEX customers I care about my credit rating, and credit record).
Continued improving financial situation and was ready to improve monthly auto pay to pay
off the complete balance each month.
Logged in and changed the auto pay settings to pay complete balance and replaced minimum payment (correctly during the same login in about a 3 minute transition) and completed this about 10 days before next payment date.
Discovered the new auto payment didn't auto pay and called to ask why. They explained that the AMEX system doesn't pay your upcoming payment, it begins auto pay for 2nd payment.
What?!!
How is this a service to the type of customer AMEX is looking for? Why is AMEX not doing everything they can to protect the customers who are trying to protect their credit by using auto pay?
AMEX told me there’s a notice when setting auto pay that, “ you’re next payment will not be automatically payed so you have to manually pay your upcoming payment even though you just authorized auto pay.
I’m focused on the type and amount of auto pay I’m setting up, not making a manual payment.
How does this serve the customer?! It’s hard to imagine how. It’s easy to understand how it serves AMEX because they have my $30ish late fee in their pocket which they wouldn’t return to my account because I didn’t make a manual payment while adjusting auto pay.
This is a conscious systemic decision that jeopardizes every customer’s credit.… show more

American express is a shit company. It takes them way too long to take care of fraudulent charges, their customer service is some of the worst I've ever experienced, and in order to get even a slight increase in your credit limit you have to have excellent credit, good is not enough. I have had this card for 2 years, have maintained good credit, doubled my yearly income, and never come close to the limit
they have set. I have asked for an increase twice in these 2 years just benefit my credit and every time I have been denied. My other 4 credit cards with other companies (who started me off at a higher limit than this shit company did) have all increased my limit 3 times in these past 2 years without even being asked by me. Once this card is fully paid off, I will no longer be doing any business with American Express.… show more

I've had Blue Cash Back card for years. I use it a LOT -- never had an issue. Until two weeks ago when I noticed I hadn't been getting the correct (higher) percent of cash back, despite clearly reaching the required spend. I called. After many holds, the rep said, "Yes, we made an error." Really? You're American Express? Isn't this what you're building your business on -- CASH BACK? Isn't it kind of essential
you know how to do that? So the guy apologizes and basically says "We'll be fixing it at some point in the future." No other correspondence from them. Scheez. So incredibly disappointing.… show more

I got the Blue Cash card about 3 years ago because I wanted a rewards card that was easy to use for everyday purchases. I decided on the blue card because of the 3% cash back on supermarkets and 2% on gas because those two categories are the ones I tend to spend the most on. I have found that the card is very easy to use, especially because there are no rotating categories and
you know you are getting cash as a reward and not redeemable points. I really like that there is no annual fee and I think the APR is pretty standard for rewards cards. I have had no issues with customer service so far. I would definitely recommend this card to anybody looking for an easy to use cash back card.… show more

This card has been pretty great for me. I got it so that I could help build my credit by having a revolving credit source that I would use regularly. The reason I went for this card in particular was because I wanted something that gave good rewards. So far the only complaint I have is the interface on the website; I've heard from others that it's very intuitive and easy to follow, but I
personally found it difficult to navigate and unintuitive. However, that may just be my opinion. I have had no interactions with customer service so I cannot comment on them, but I would recommend this card regardless.… show more

I got this card because my other American Express card was with Costco and there was a question about whether or not Costco would cut its ties with AMEX. I really liked having an AMEX card, so I went ahead and got this one. It has a nice low rate, and a pretty good cash-back rewards system. I get savings on things like groceries, gas, and travel. The one thing I would change is that
it looks kind of cheap - the clear plastic just doesn't look 'classy' to me. But this isn't a big deal at all. I would highly recommend this card to anyone. Best for groceries at 3%.
Fixed categories make it easy to know when it's best to swipe this one.
Amex is not accepted everywhere so a second card should be carried.
The card offers other deals that can be added and used at certain retailers to increase savings.
The card usually comes with intro cash bonus and 0% APR
No annual fee makes it a great candidate to have in your portfolio of cards
Amex customer service will usually fight vendors
on your behalf if you happen to have a complaint on a charge you feel is unfair.… show more

I have used this credit card for a few years and I love it. I love being able to use the points to get cash back. The points accrue rather quickly. I am often able to use the points for a statement credit towards my next bill. You can also use the points towards products. They also provide great customer service. This is a great everyday credit card. I always use this card to buy groceries because of the 3% cashback. I also always use this card to buy gas as it offers 2% cashback at the pump. I like that there is a $100 bonus for $1000 charged to the Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express in the first three months. I'm not excited about the 3% rewards for spending at grocery stores since I prefer to use cash at the grocery, and the gas station I use does not accept American Express cards of any type. Here's what I think is great about this card- there is no annual fee and you are ALWAYS earning in some way. It doesn't get much better than that. I guess the biggest difference between this and other cards I have are how the cash is put back to your statement. I do like how my Southwest Card I can put it towards other things besides air travel. It is handy to have that flexibility.
