Whatever is that you have on your card the only amount you can spend, there are no overdrafts with this card.

You can do it thru Cash Pick up Powred by Ria. This feature will allow you to withdraw up to $2900 for tax season per day.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee you'll be able to rent a car using a prepaid card, as most major American car rental companies do not accept them as form of payment, and instead require a credit card. The best course of action would be to call the car rental beforehand...
I'm calling the IRS on Monday because not being able to register the card and access my refund is unacceptable! The process should not be this hard. Where is the live customer service?

Don't do it especially if the hotel requires a deposit. They will put a hold on it supposedly for 7 days, but then they'll keep changing the date. I'm having that problem as we speak.
Can you pay your credit card bill (i.e. Capital One) with this?

American Express Serve is one of our favorite prepaid cards. It offers everything you need to say goodbye to your checking account or to check-cashing stores at a price point that’s hard to beat. Serve’s free online bill pay feature allows you to pay billers that don’t accept plastic, and its free mobile app enables you to fund your account simply by taking a picture of a check. There are only two fees to even worry about and both are avoidable. If you direct deposit at least $500 each month and withdraw money exclusively from MoneyPass ATMs, of which there are more than 24,000 nationwide, then Amex Serve will be completely free to use. As such, Serve makes for a great replacement checking account, check-cashing service or financial literacy teaching tool. And that’s all you really need to know. All the 1 star reviews are from people who obviously cannot read. They expect to use it like a debit card, which it clearly is not. Others complain about issues that they themselves are at fault for.

This card is great! I love the bill pay feature and th convenient ways to add money. The lowest to no fee of the majority and excellent customer service. Mobile check feature is horrible. That the reason for a 4 star rating.

I've been using my AX serve for over 4 years. They make it known that it is a prepaid debit card. But when it comes to a hotel hold, it's 30 days and is only considered a cc at that time. The hotel released the funds in 24 hours. But I have to call them to send email or wait 30 days. You can not get cashback. Some merchants don't even take it. I would go with a prepaid PayPal debit MasterCard. You will get your paycheck early on most prepaid debit cards.

HORRIBLE! Hacker got into my Instacart account and even with Instacart on merged call saying charge was fraud and transaction ID’s, times, dates & freaking amounts did not match and were not generated by Instacart this Serve nightmare refused to reverse authorization hold on funds. Do yourself a favor & forget this complete mess. Customer service involved an extremely “snotty” woman talking over me. Vote with your feet, get a prepaid card elsewhere-I sure as hell am!

This is the biggest piece of shit card I've ever had. I just started working again an 2 times this week my card had froze an i have no access to MY money. I will be shredding it as soon as i can get my money off of it. AmEx can you please explain to me how i am suppose to buy diapers tomor

Insecure platform and horrible fraud investigation procedures. The incompetent investigators allowed someone to get away with $1540 in atm withdrawls made several hundred miles from my home. I havent a clue how they did this. I still have the card and have never given anyone my pin!! They say these were authorized, despite my having the card, making purchases in my town and working 10 hr shits + 1hr commute each way each on these 2 days these withdrawls happened.... they have allowed these thieves to get away with grand theft. I hope the local police make a better effort to investigate and catch whoever did this.

The absolute worst ever. Outrageous fees and zero services. The fees smack of usury. I canceled my other AMEX cc cards after I got robbed using this one. Do not waste your time, once the money is on the card, it is VERY hard to get off without paying fees. We lost 20% (so far)

I had my card since 2017 activated it but never used it. I kept it because I considered activating a sub account for my teenage daughter. Something I could put money on for her to spend. Well now I don't know. Had my stimulus check deposited on the card and then I transferred it to my bank account and it's still not there. When I call I continue to get different answers on when my money will be in my bank account. I've reached out to the IRS and they said if it's not there this week they will look into investigating. Disappointing.

Doesn't even deserve one star. They are crooks and will lock your card. IF you ever get someone on the phone, they tell you they can't see why your card is locked and transfer you to a supervisor, but you are always disconnected. This has happened to three of my family members. I will be contacting my state's Attorney General.
