Does The Approved Card from Suze Orman report to the credit bureaus?
Why does The Approved Card from Suze Orman have a $3.00 monthly fee?
The Approved Card from Suze Orman has a monthly fee to cover for their maintenance expenses.
Suze has really managed to confuse all of us, hasn't she? The Approved Prepaid Card will NOT IMPROVE anyone's credit score. Maybe in a few years that will change but as of now...
The card, company, has the poorest customer service I have dealt with. The website does not show a easy "contact me" link. There are no email or phone numbers. It is very frustrating.
ITS FRUSTRATING AND ITS VERY HARD TO GET THE PEOPLE TO HELP U WITH ANY QUESTIONS, AND THEY ARE NOT DOING WHAT THEY SAY THEY DO?
What prepaid card can I use to rent a car?
New flash! My bank charges me 36.00 each time a gym fee runs through my account and the funds are not in at the same time. And even when I look and see the account balance as good, somehow I get hit with a over draft fee. (36.00) so why not pay the 3.00 to open and any other fees. I'm still spending less. I want my account to have money in it that's all. I don't want to do online bill pay or anything related to that with my bank.
It is not true that rental cars will not take debit cards. Major car rental companies accept debit cards and prepaid cards but usually put a hold of the max of $250 OR (the cost of the rental + 15%). If you do not want to deal with such a high hold on your money then I would recommend you get a secured credit card: https://wallethub.com/credit-cards/secured/
TheDark Child how does this card build your fico score?
I recently received my card, and am having alot of trouble loading $ on it. I was trying to use $ from my savings account, but it will not allow me to do this. Don't know what to do.

Here is more information on the Amex prepaid debit card:

The only thing that Orman's prepaid card does is that it shares purchase, payment and other transaction information with TransUnion (one of the major credit bureaus) so that they can study the correlation between that information and the information that is currently included in most consumer credit reports. In other words it is a study that will yield NO changes to a consumer's credit report and credit score. Maybe two years after the study is complete something actionable might emerge.
Bottom line is that if you need to build or rebuild your credit score stay away from Suze Orman's prepaid card or ANY other prepaid card for that matter. Just apply for a secured credit card:
