Update: As of 10/18/22 4 months after opening this card I was suddenly decreased from my initial 1k limit to 300$ without notice. Perfect payment history, never late, paid in full and after contacting customer service… they only said that I will receive a letter. I just received that letter today 10/26/22 and it states that I have insufficient credit history. Makes NO sense! Strangely enough I have 2 Auto loans paid in full, 4 credit cards that have under a 25-30% utilization combined never late average age of credit is 9 years, nothing negative. All My fico scores across the board are now between 700-730 and even my Capital one Quicksilver reward card for good/excellent credit received a 2000k increase without me asking as well 2 of my other revolving cards have increased me after their periodic review of my accounts and credit reports. I Paid my Annual fee the month after using the card upon opening it. I used not all of the limit but whatever I did use, I paid in full not allowing myself to incur interest and that’s another problem with this card. When a credit card decreases your limit it can look as if you are a possible “credit risk” and THIS WILL negatively impact your credit utilization and credit report and scores. This is supposed to help build credit and suddenly decreasing so many good customers limits who are really working hard to rebuild their credit it a smack in the face.
Not keeping this card. I take back that original review I wrote:: I’m really happy so far with my Avant credit card. I paid off the purchase I made in full and got a statement credit reward before the statement closed. I like the convenience of the app to pay and set it on auto payment so I stay on top of my credit. The only reason I didn’t give this card 5 stars was because I haven’t been able to reach them by phone ever since I opened the account. I was on hold twice for 40 minutes one time and 25 min the other time so I gave up. Hopefully they improve this. Other than that, the app is awesome and I’m excited my score rose 36 points after opening this card. Beware

Worst ever. Do not do it. Applied and was approved January 2023. Card was sent out supposedly on 2/2. I suddenly had to move for work purposes and did a forward address through USPS. March 3rd and still haven’t received it. I have been going back n forth with customer service for a week now asking them to please close the old card in case someone got ahold of it and to reissue a new one to my new address. Every time I call I verify my date of birth, social and email address. This is not enough for them to send a new card with new number to the new address apparently. So I send in a bank statement with my name and matching NEW address. However, I just sent the header in as I don’t feel they need to see all of my transactions. Apparently this is not acceptable for them to reissue a card to the new address. I also sent in a photo of the envelope from my bank which was addressed to me with the new address and had their return address information printed on the envelope. Still not enough for them to send a new card. So here I am with an account with open credit and no card and sending them perfectly valid bank documents with name and address and they still won’t send a new card. Their excuse is we need to see all 4 corners of the document. Unacceptable for them to want to see all of my banking transactions. The header had a balance and the last 4 of my checking on it plus my name and new address which I was even skeptical to send in. It seems like they are looking for personal information that is none of their business instead of just proof of new address. Seems super shady. I’ll be closing my account update: sent in the entire bank statement page so they could see all 4 corners but blacked out the transactions. They said still not valid but I could send in the official USPS forwarding document. I forwarded them official confirmation email with my old and new address on it and they also said it wasn’t valid. I truly feel this company is scamming and not sending cards and doing who knows what with them. Regardless of what document I send in, they reply with a reason it is not valid.

Customer Service is the Worst I was approved for this card and the card sent to me. Then the nightmare begin. After receiving the card I call then and they could not find my account. Called about 6 times still couldn’t find my account. After telling me six different answers as to why they couldn’t find my account. Kept telling me to call back. Then I finally spoke with a supervisor who finally found my account and told me my new Avant Master Card which I had never used and just received was frozen and I could not use it. Asking why, she told me I needed to verify my identity, originally would not have been a problem but they never contacted me in anyway to tell me this is what was needed and and they had already sent me the card. I have other cards and never have experienced anything like this. Most major card companies ask for proof of identity before releasing the card. Sent requested documentation still have not released the card for use. I do not recommend this card. They need to train customer service team on how to treat customers. They are nasty and rude. What company sends a card and then ask for proof of identity after sending the card. What’s wrong with these people?

They are doing the same to me. Was approved and never received the card until I verify. I’ve sent in multiple documents and they reply to each one why it’s not valid with reasons such as we can’t see all 4 corners of the page or something ridiculous

Absolutely the worst card ever! Received an email that my credit limit was being increased and it was actually decreased. I called and spoke to a number of people in customer service and they could not give an explanation. I had paid the entire balance on time every single month that I had the card! I informed them to close the account since they could not give any explanation whatsoever. A week later, I received another email with their apology that the decrease was a "technical error" and my credit limit should have been increased. After call again, I was informed the only way they could reopen my account was for me to apply again. Ridiculous considering the entire episode was the fault of Avant....Never again!!

The worst of the worst. Customer service is trash. This is predatory lending at its finest. As soon as you activate the card you're hit with a mandatory $59 fee that comes out of your available credit. Run away from this high interest, high fees, POS company.

Same here. Approved January 30th still have not received a card as of 3/24. I’ve called multiple times and they will not resend the card unless I send them a bank statement with all the information showing and a like 10 other ridiculous documents they don’t need to see. Never again

The Avant Card payment system is broken. They hold your payment up to 10 days. They will NOT credit your Available credit until they want to. They will NOT add money to the credit available if you pay the card in full. If you only pay the minimum balance, then the will put the credit down within 24 to 48 hours.
This means that Avant Credit Card issued by Web Bank may be breaking banking laws depending on your state.
On December 2, 2022, I paid a portion of the balance. On December 3, 2022, I was able to use the card. Now I paid on December 31, 2022, and I still have not got may darn payment shown as my credit available.
Avoid this credit card company at all costs if you can. And if there are other cards owned by Web Bank, I would avoid them also.

This card initially gave me a $3000 credit limit. I paid early every month, though not always the full balance due. On about the 5-6 month I saw a drastic change in my credit utilization score and credit score and it was because without warning they had suddenly cut my credit limit in half to $1500. My score was in the fair range before this and now I’m fighting to get my credit score out of bad credit range. I highly recommend reading reviews of this card before applying. I applied for it after getting a pre-approval invitation

HORRIBLE card, awful, rude customer service. Deceased my credit limit out of the blue after only having the card a few months, which put me over my "new limit". Very shady business practices, 0/10 do NOT recommend. I cut it up and after I pay it off will cancel.
