Ive gotten approved for the bright and spectrum. Back in october they ended up blocking my card the same exacy day i recieved it and cancelled my whole account a couple days later. Yesterday i received my bright card and went and made some laat minute purchases for christmas and for the baby im due to have on friday. They ended up flagging my account while i was at walmart so i had to call and get the flag off. Then not even 10 minutes later my family and i go somewhere else to make a purchase and my card declined. So i called cc services again and the guy told me they have rules. So they ended up blocking my whole card. Mind u i havent even finished getting everything i need for my newborn baby. And i have 3 other kids. BB&T has disappointed me twice. Its so embarrassing to have to a credit card that u just got and u go to a walmart or something and it gets declined. Mind you i made the decision to call yesterday morning to let them know i would be making quite a few purchases over the next week and the lady said she put a note in the system so there should be no problems and they still ended up cutting my card off. Im a bb&t customer. I bank with them faithfully. And for this to keep happening is a total inconvenience for me and my family. It feels like they are tellin me where i can and cant use my card at. Im very disappointed. Considering it being Christmas today i cant get no answers so hopefully tomorrow or friday they will make a decision on whether or not to turn it back on

I've been banking with BB&T from the very beginning. I've always had good experiences with them. I've had this particular card for a few years, and the experience has also been really good. About a year and a half ago I noticed a couple purchases on the card that weren't from me. I was able to get in touch with a real person and get things sorted out right away. They quickly blocked the original card and sent out a new card immediately. The experience seemed really scary at first, but the customer service people made everything easy and painless. I feel very safe and secure with these guys. I would definitely recommend this credit card to anyone.

I've had nothing but positive experiences using this card. The one time that I had a charge that I did not make, they resolved the issue very promptly, within 24 hours. On a recent trip, I used this card many, many times and never experienced a delay or a rejection. The interest rate is very fair, and I have never had any issues with them whatsoever over my payment, or any hidden charges or late fees. Everything is clear and concise and up front. There is no sneaky fine print like many other cards I have used in the past. I would highly recommend this card, and this bank, to everyone.

I have had this card for a little under a year. I also bank with BB&T, and have had excellent service, so it was the natural choice for my credit card. The major downside for me is that there are no rewards offered. This is the only reason I would possibly shop around for a new card because that is a great perk that I think all cards should offer. Other than this, I haven't had any problems with this card and customer service is always great. They were very understanding when I asked a lot of questions because this is my first credit card. Overall, I would recommend this card to others.

I have had this credit card for a while now and have loved it. The monthly fees are bit high, but overall I would say that it's worth it. I have never had any problems BB&T customer service. They have been very good about flagging any activity they deem suspicious and call me right away to verify. There are plenty of BB&T's around as well, so whenever I need something I can just pop right on over and talk to them. The only downside that I can see is that there are no rewards offered with this card. Overall though, I am very happy with this card and will keep on using it.

My experience with my credit card has always been very positive. If any purchase is made, they stay right on top of things. Just before Christmas, I received a call from them asking about a transaction that was made within a foreign country. They immediately flagged the transaction and called me. I had not made the charge. They advised me not to use my card because it was going to be put on hold. They cancelled the card and sent me one with a new number. It was amazing to me that a $2.30 charge would come to their attention so fast. This most likely prevented me from having my card used for more expensive things without my knowledge. I highly value this company.

I have had this credit card ever since I got one over 5 years ago. I don't really see any logical reason to use a different card. The fees are steep but they are definitely worth it. I've never had one issue with this card other than issues created by outside sources. One of the downsides to this card is that there aren't many BB&T's around me, so it's hard to deposit money into my account and onto my card. But their online banking site works like a charm. So I will be keeping this card for many years to come.

I have been using this card for a couple years, and it has worked out great for me so far, I have pretty good credit so I was able to get some really good interest rates. However, the monthly fees are a little high, but not too bad. Customer service has been good as far as my experiences go, I've had a couple charge disputes now and then, and they have taken my side every time and refunded me, so I have been quite happy about that. I am a little disappointed that there is no rewards feature for this card. On the whole, I have been very satisfied with this card and intend to keep using it.

Unlike the college basketball tournament held every year, this isn’t the BB&T classic. Instead, it’s the BB&T Platinum, the BB&T Visa Platinum Credit Card, that is. The differences don’t end there either. While it’s obvious who the best team in a basketball tournament is, it can be somewhat more difficult to tell whether a given credit card is best for you or not. That’s why I do these little credit card reviews, so without further ado, why don’t we see what the BB&T Platinum Card has to offer? Starting with rewards, the BB&T Bank Platinum Visa doesn’t have any. Hmm, like a big halftime lead, this gives us a pretty good idea how the game will turn out, but we still have to finish the action. Continuing with rates, the BB&T Visa offers 0% on purchases and transfers for 12 months, which is good but not great when you consider that there are offers out there that give 0% on both for as long as 18 months. While the BB&T Platinum Credit Card doesn’t have an annual fee, it does require excellent credit for approval, which means that it really doesn’t measure up with its competition, all things considered.
So what is this competition I speak of? Well, there are a lot of really good offers, and which one you pick depends on your needs. If you want rewards, the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Capital One Venture, and Amex Blue Cash Everyday are great offers. If you want low rates, the three Citicards offering 0% on purchases and transfers for 18 months are good, as is the Discover More Card, which offers 0% for 15 months in addition to some great rewards. Any of these cards would be better than the BB&T Platinum Visa Card.
