The Capital One Venture Card is a very good travel rewards credit card for people with 700+ credit scores who don't want to be tied down to a single travel provider. With an initial bonus worth $750 in travel, double miles on all purchases and a reasonable annual fee, it’s... show more

The Capital One Venture credit card exchange rate is Visa's exchange rate on the date you make an international purchase. Visa exchange rates change on a daily basis, and they update these rates each day on their website.
While credit card exchange rates normally also include foreign transaction fees, the Capital One Venture credit card does not charge foreign fees. This means the Capital One Venture credit card will save cardholders 1.44% on purchases with international merchants, compared to the average credit card offer. As long as cardholders avoid dynamic currency conversion, the exchange rates they'll pay on international spending with this card will be much lower than those they'd get from converting cash with banks, credit unions, or airport currency exchange services.
The best Capital One Venture benefits are rental car insurance and travel accident insurance. The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card also has virtual card numbers and extended warranty, which are more common perks across Capital One credit cards.
There's no official Capital One Venture miles redemption chart. But that's because you don't need one. It's not that complicated. Capital One Venture miles are worth a penny each when redeemed for travel and half that when redeemed for gift cards or a statement credit. Since Venture gives you double... show more
Capital One Venture travel insurance covers you for serious accidents caused by a travel provider. It also covers rental cars and lost or damaged luggage. Capital One Venture's travel insurance benefits don't cost extra, either. They're covered by Venture's $95 annual fee and kick in automatically when you pay for... show more
You can easily redeem Capital One Venture miles through the Capital One website, mobile app or customer service phone line. What's unique with this card, though, is that you can redeem miles either before or after you pay for your travel expenses. You can also redeem miles for gift... show more
You earn Capital One Venture miles, not points. But it doesn't really matter. Plenty of travel rewards credit cards offer points, and plenty of others give you miles. The key is that you're not earning cash back, which means you need to figure out how much your miles are worth.
Capital One Venture miles are worth 1 cent each when you redeem them for travel expenses. For example, you can either use miles to pay for travel-related purchases that appear on your bill or book travel with miles through Capital One. But each Venture miles is worth just half a... show more
Chase Sapphire Reserve vs. Capital One Venture is a win for Capital One Venture. I applied for this card online and was approved with a $10,000 credit limit. Received the card and attempted activation which failed. Called customer service, was transferred to the fraud department where a rep told me there was high suspicion that the application was fraudulent (in other words that I was committing fraud) and that I would need to send in copies of my drivers license, a utility bill or bank statement, and my social security card. Two red flags right away. One, why would they send me a card when there was a high risk of fraud in their opinion? Two, I have never been asked for my physical SS card and I guard it closely. I told the rep I would not send in my SS card as I thought this was risky and unnecessary. I was put on hold then told I was approved to only provide one form of ID, my Drivers license, and that the fastest way to get approval would be to go to a bank and present my ID to a banker. The next day I called back to confirm this information and the rep again checked with someone and assured me this was correct. So I went to a bank, presented my ID to the banker who called the fraud department. I was put on the phone and the rep proceeded to tell me that I could not have my identity verified by this route. Unbelievable and embarrassing. I called later and requested my account be closed and requested a letter stating account closure which I have not received. If you do a search about this you will find numerous reviews about being subjected to this bogus fraud suspicion and how many people are still denied activation even when sending in all the requested documents. I have no idea what flagged me as high risk for fraud...the only thing I can imagine is that my physical address and mailing address (a USPS PO Box) are different. Never again would I do business with this company. And now I have hard hits on TU and Equifax. My advice if you get this runaround...just immeditately cancel, it's not worth the misery.

My exact experience, I am sure it’s the same reasons as well. I have a different mailing address from my physical address. There’s nothing on their website that says this is a problem. No one told me my card was restricted either including the app. I spent the holidays confused as I sat to eat at a restaurant only to find the card was declined and could by any presents for my kids this past Dec either. They couldn’t even give me proof the accounts were closed. The incompetence is astounding and their willingness to close account so quickly rather than fix their issues. Also, how can I access the account to close it but not have access to use it???!! Riddle me that Capital ONe

I decided to purchase the Capital One Venture Rewards credit card because I had a close friend with the card who had nothing but positive reviews about the card. I obtain points each time I use my card and have been able to use these points for later purchases. I like this perk very much, but the one thing I would improve is how much we get back. Instead of 40,000 miles, it should be smaller, such as 20,000 or even 30,000. In the end though I would recommend this card to users because there's no expiration date and you can keep earning as much as you'd want.

Over the years I have had many experiences with "rewards" cards. But I have to say that my Capital One Venture Card, has provided me with more solid and noticeable rewards than any of the others! I travel a lot as a backpacker, thus getting everything I can for my money spent, only adds to my ability to travel! The miles and rewards add up quickly, as well as a solid interest rate, this credit card has been perfect for my needs!! And on top of that, no foreign transaction fees!!

I am somebody who travels multiple times per year, so I know a thing or two about rewards programs for airline miles. In my opinion, the Capitol One Venture Rewards program is one of the best options out there for travelers. There is a reason that this card is so highly recommended for people who are living abroad. I love banking with Capitol one, and I've been a customer of theirs from the very beginning.

This card has been absolutely awesome. 2 miles for every $1 spent is a very tough deal to beat. Capital One is also one of the top companies because of it's fraud protection and customer service. You cannot go wrong picking a Capital One back credit card. So, if you have the credit line to apply and can use the miles for vacationing or leisure, then this is a great card for you.

The Capital One Venture Card is a must for the avid traveler. The miles add up very quickly at 2 miles for every dollar spent. Once every year I redeem my miles to pay for my annual trip to see my family in Ireland. While there is an annual fee, it is still far less than the cost of the tickets that I obtain every year.

I got this card basically to take advantages of the miles rewards, and that this card does very well. You will be adequately rewarded with miles if you use this credit card. That being said, it irritates me to no end that I have to pay a $59 annual fee. I spend thousands on this card and it really feels petty. I don't see why Capital One feels the need to nickel and dime their customers. The APR is nothing to get excited about, it seems to be pretty standard, and I am sure they would happily jack the rates if you have a single late payment. Miles are good but that is about it.
