The main Chase Sapphire Preferred requirements are that an applicant must be at least 18 years old with a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification number. Applicants must also have a physical U.S. address, enough income to make monthly minimum payments, and at least good credit.
To check your Chase Sapphire Preferred balance, log in to your Chase account online or call credit card customer service at 1-800-432-3117. It's also possible to check your Chase Sapphire Preferred balance through the Chase app or by texting bal to 24273.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred card's balance transfer fee is either $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater. You'll be charged this fee each time you do a balance transfer.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred card mainly uses Experian for approval. That doesn't mean it won't use the other major credit bureaus: TransUnion and Equifax, it depends on the state you live in.
