The Chase Slate foreign transaction fee is 3%. Chase Slate foreign transaction fees apply to all purchases processed outside the United States, even if you're not physically abroad. So, online purchases from internationally based merchants are subject to Chase Slate's foreign fees, too.
Chase Slate's 3% foreign transaction fee is tied for the highest you'll find on a credit card. That's a good sign the card isn't meant for travel or international shopping. Chase Slate's lack of rewards is another clue. Instead, the Chase Slate was meant for avoiding interest on big purchases and balance transfers. It used to offer 0% for 15 months on purchases and 0% for 15 months on balance transfers. But this card is no longer available to new applicants.
The HSBC Gold Credit Card is a credit card that's very similar to Chase Slate but has 0% foreign transaction fees. It also has a $0 annual fee and an introductory APR of 0% for 18 months on purchases and 0% for 18 months on balance transfers. This card's regular APR is 13.99% - 23.99% (V). However, there is a 4% (min $10) balance transfer fee, so the card is better for purchases than for balance transfers.
Not much of a credit limit, but I pay this card every month. Also, kind of high interest rate. They also have a nice credit score feature. Update* Nice Credit limit now, but I pay on time, every month. I also usually pay all of it, so I don't pay the high interest rate. No perks to speak of. They have some discounts at places, but not many that I would ever use.

By far, My favorite card. The rewards are generous and they quickly rewarded my use and payment history with a credit increase. The app is also the easiest you use and understand. I like that you also get a pretty detailed weekly report.

The lack of an annual fee makes it useful to have in the wallet. That said, I do not recommend carrying balances on credit cards ever. It should be a measure of last resort. I keep the card because I have had it for over 25 years but have moved to a card that pays cash back

Rate is not great so I try to use it as little as I possibly can. On the positive side the does have some rewards I rate it as okay.

I applied and got the card but the card transfer fee was for 5% when I got the terms and conditions...should I try to make the transfer and then argue that the advertisements online when I applied stated $0 and 0%.

Oddly the very most important aspect of this company should be a place to apply for a credit card but there isn’t? So what if someone is satisfied with all of the information and wants to apply for a car, where do they go?

Spent hours trying to find a link or way to apply for the Chase State card with no luck. Maybe no longer available. After reading the reviews, maybe it's a good thing that I don't get this card. I have excellent credit and have many more options, but had a loan at a local Chase bank and thought it was a good experience. As in most cases, the credit card portion of the company is maybe a separate entity from the banking sector.

Yeah...don't believe the hype. Chase offers this card in a way that any reasonable person would assume it's a good option to transfer over balances from other cards and get a free short term loan as a result. As can be seen in numerous reviews, and I have now experienced first-hand, they will only approve you with a low spending limit. I have exceptional credit, house is paid off, no car loans, over $600k in assets, etc. I have a few other cards with limits in the $15k to $20k, so I was expecting the Chase card would be approved for the same. Nope. They gave me a $5000 limit. Based on other reviews it seems like this is actually a high number compared to others. I was only even applying for this card as a very short term solution to some credit card debt I wanted to wait a few months to pay off. Now I've taken a hard pull on my credit report for a credit card with a limit that is far below what would reasonably be expected. The ability for anyone to get approved with a high enough limit to actually utilize a balance transfer up to $15k that they advertise is a fantasy. For anyone with good credit, I would recommend just getting an unsecured personal loan from Lightstream instead. Yes, you will be paying interest, but it's a very low rate and at least the terms are clear and they aren't just playing games with you like Chase.

Thanks for the candor. Years ago Chase cancelled one of their gas credit cards to allow issue of a new one. I wasn't told, found out when I tried to charge gas. Had to call form the station and negotiate to keep the gas card while reducing the credit limit on another of their cards. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Unbelievable that they would do that.

Well, after reading all these negative reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I have excellent credit and wanted to move over $15k to a zero interest card, but unfortunately was only approved for $4200 at an astronomical 23% interest rate. I'll be paying this card off immediately before the 15 month cut-off. Disappointed!

Waste of time. Applied online for a $15,000 balance transfer. Credit Score over 770, perfect credit history 35+ years. DTI total (home, auto, credit card) is 25%. SMALL amount of debt relative to income and was approved for a meager $3,900 balance transfer. I had recently done a large scale remodel, paying most upfront, but charging the final portions, which I was hoping to transfer to the chase card at 0%. Not so. I immediately called and requested to have the balance transfer reviewed and increased. Chase denied the increase of limits. Makes no sense.... You can apply for a mortgage at 28% DTI, 36% total DTI. Who DO they give $15,000 balance transfers to??? The other irony.... I just finished paying a $32,000 auto loan to chase... and paid it off a year early. I will take my business elsewhere. I just took a credit hit for no reason.
