To respond to a Citi Double Cash Card invitation to apply, either complete and return the application included with the offer you received in the mail or simply reply online. Responding online is the quicker method and could generate an immediate decision. Just input your invitation code, type your last name, and click "Apply Now".
Before responding to any such offer, it's a good idea to double-check the language in the mailing to confirm it's actually an "invitation to apply". There are differences between an invitation to apply and a pre-approved or pre-selected offer. Each uses different types of information for its targeted offers and indicates different approval odds.
What you should know about the Citi Double Cash Card offers to apply:
Invitation to apply - Citibank thinks you'd be interested in the Citi Double Cash Card based on specific demographic information (such as age and zip code) and other criteria. Your credit standing is not a factor, so odds of approval for the Citi Double Cash Card are much lower with an invitation to apply than with a pre-approved or pre-selected offer.
Pre-approved offer - Citibank thinks you would be a good candidate for the Citi Double Cash Card, based on a basic review of data from the major credit bureaus. Their assessment of your data is based on a soft pull which doesn't affect your credit score. Pre-approved offers have the highest odds of approval.
Pre-selected offer - You've met Citibank's basic guidelines to qualify for the Citi Double Cash Card, but Citi needs more information before approving you for an account (should you apply). Your odds of approval are slightly less than with a pre-approved offer.
Keep in mind that a Citi Double Cash Card invitation to apply is just that, an invitation. While certain invitations (i.e., pre-approved offers) carry higher chances of approval, if you apply, there's no guarantee you'll be approved. Credit history, income, debt and other factors crucial to credit card approval are not evaluated fully until you submit an application.
Applying for credit cards can temporarily hurt your credit score so be sure to know where you stand before responding to any invitation to apply. You can check your credit report and credit score right here on WalletHub to confirm you generally meet the card's requirements. You'll need good credit or better to have decent approval odds for the Citi Double Cash Card.
No, you cannot earn points with the Citi Double Cash Card. But cardholders do have the option to convert the cash back rewards they earn with the Citi Double Cash Card to Citi ThankYou points at a 1:1 ratio, meaning that every $1 in cash back rewards equates to...
Yes, the Citi Double Cash Card has a grace period of at least 23 days, lasting from the end of each billing cycle until the payment due date. If cardholders pay their Citi Double Cash Card statement balance in full every month, Citibank will not charge any interest.
You do not need to do a balance transfer to get the Citi Double Cash card. While the card does have a very good offer for balance transfers (and can be used as such), they are by no means compulsory for approval or use.
The Citi Double Cash credit limit is $500 - $50,000 depending on your creditworthiness, according to reports online. Citi doesn't disclose an official maximum, but the higher your credit score is and the more income you have relative to your existing debt obligations, the higher you can expect your credit...

Please be careful when you purchase products using a CitiBank credit card! I purchased an expensive product of $982.30 using my CitiBank Double Cash Card. The product was sadly never delivered to my address and after disputing the charge, CitiBank ruled in the merchant's favor. When I asked why, CitiBank requested proof that the product was not delivered.
A couple weeks later I presented TWO (2) letters from the package courier, DHL, one of which was from the Executive of Customer Care proving in writing that my product WAS NEVER DELIVERED. After presenting my evidence proving 100% in my favor, CitiBank still ruled that I had to pay $982.30. Why? Because the merchant doesn't feel like giving a refund....are you kidding me? This is not a joke. CitiBank Disputes Team said because the merchant doesn't feel like giving me a refund for a product never delivered, I'm still expected to pay $982.30 and if I don't they threatened negative repercussions. How can CitiBank call themselves an honorable and trustworthy company when they use these tactics to get money from people? They fully are aware that I'm in the right, but they sided with the merchant for money. DO NOT USE CITIBANK CARDS! They will scam you one way or another. I have reported this to the BBB and I'm surely taking this to court.

Agree strongly with this comment. I had same problem of item not received, and Citi charging us for item not received. Citi's dispute resolution is worthless. Suggest doing business with ethical firms instead of Citi.

Worst experience ever! Applying and approval was quick and easy. Everything after that was awful.
Activation - Download the app, scan the card. Seems quick and easy. Doesn't actually activate the card though, you have to log in an click activate. Offers to let you log in with Biometrics. Cool. You have to call a number into an automated system set up for Bank Account customers (NOT CC). Failed enough times to get transfered to a person in the CC section. Ended up talking to 4 different people, each one going through a lengthy process of multiple methods to verify my identity. Eventually I get the authorization number I need to enable biometric login. Invalid number.
Oh well ... I'll just punch in my password each time. 20 minutes of my life wasted for nothing.
Time to start using my new card & earning cash back!
Purchases = Fraud!
Day one - Before I leave work, I paid for a tire I bought. Then I stopped for dinner. Both paid for with me new Citi card, now problem. Next, I stopped for cigarettes. Declined. Paid with a different card. I get a text to call the fraud department immediately. 15 minutes on the phone, multiple verifications of who I am, I confirm each use of the card was ME. I'm told it's fixed and I can use my card normally.
Day two - I stop at the store on my way home to purchase necessities. Try to pay with my new Citi card. Declined. Paid with a different card, get an alert to contact the fraud department immediately. 25 minutes on the phone with a very lengthy and detailed process of verifying who I am, including us ending that call and them calling me back at the number they have (the same number I just called them from). During the second call, another lengthy process of verifying who I am. The end result? The are mailing me something. Once I receive that mail (7-10 business days), it will have a phone number I need to call to verify my identity and then they will reactivate my card.
So... this in an excellent card to use for scraping frost or ice off your windshield and apparently not much else as it seems attempting to use it to pay for purchases is considered fraud.

Terrible customer service. Extremely difficult to understand call center employees due to thick accents. If Citi absolutely use Indian call centers, for the love of God please find people who are somewhat proficient in English; I know they exist because I outsource many projects myself! If I were to continue to keep my Citi account open, I will be forced to learn Hindi in order to communicate with them at the most basic level. Citi is an absolute operational Fail

I applied for this card on May 15th and got approved immediately. The card was supposed to arrive within a couple of weeks. It didn't. Anyway, I waited and called the customer service on June 15th. They said the card probably got lost and they would send a new one, which would arrive in a week. Again, it didn't. I called on June 27th and this time they closed the account. They didn't even give me any reason for it. This is the worst customer service I experienced in the USA.

2% cash back? Is there a better card like this one where I don't have to juggle, plan or even think about how to get my 2%? Discover and US Bank will give me a higher rate but a irritate me quarterly by asking me to choose this that or the other thing. Yes, I have more than those three but Citibank double cash back is the best.

Ive had the card now 2 years, and everything is as advertised. I have never had to call customer service so I cant speak to all the poor reviews about that. I love this card and plan to continue to use it as my everyday card. Amazing how quickly the money back adds up.

I've been using this card for years and there is nothing else that compares. If you require customer service the people actually speak English. Getting points sucks. That game can be changed in an instant. Then you can get the umbrella (with the smiley face) they offer for your 1,000,000 "points."

It would be nice to have a sign up bonus, and it would be much better if you get the whole 2% and not split it up having you wait on the rest. I did get a offer in the mail for this card, just not sure if I'm going to apply for it.

Easy and fast approval with a $11,500 credit limit! You can't beat the ease of double cash and no revolving categories. I am definitely using 0% interest balance transfer offer to pay down a card with a higher interest rate.
