2 weeks after the incident, the charges were still there. So I gave them a call again and it's like nobody knew I even placed the first call. "Are you sure this is fraud? The credit card was swiped" To which I replied "Yes, the actual physical credit card was stolen." "But ma'm you have shopped at this store before." "Yes, but that wasn't me and we have filed a police report already." Again, they said that it should be off my credit card in 7-10 business days.
Another week goes by and it's still on there. I called them a 3rd time and when I asked the customer service representative more questions, they then transferred me to the fraud / investigation number. After the THIRD TIME???!! And this department asked the same exact questions... "But the card was swiped? Are you sure you didn't make this purchase? You have shopped at this store before.
It was horrible! By far, one of the worst customer service experiences ever. I have Discover, American Express, and Capital One and have had fraudulent charges appear on them, granted those charges were never "swiped" but they still at least gave me credit while they conducted their investigations.
I applied for a citi bank card, the double cash back card to be exact.
Credit sesame said I had a good chance of approval for $3500 limit. Wanted it for balance transfer 0% for 18 months.
My score on CS was showing 674
I make over $150k a year. Have less than $3k in debt. So was hoping for the $3500 limit.
To my surprise 5 days later, I received an email showing I was approved. The kicker is it was for $14,600.00 BIG difference from the $3500 I needed. It’s now my biggest limit card, my other is $7750 from CapitalOne. I had over $40,000 in available credit. This puts me closer to $55,000 now.
Thank you CIti Bank.
