It can take as little as a minute to get approved for the Express Credit Card. If you don't get instantly approved, it usually takes 7-10 business days to receive a decision on your application.
Having said that, you can check the status of your Express Credit Card application by calling customer service at (800) 201-4955.
Ultimately, you can expect to have your new credit card in hand in up to 10 business days after approval.

You should note that while your credit score is an important factor, there are plenty of other things...
The easiest way you can pay your Express Credit Card is either online or over the phone at (800) 201-4955. Alternatively, you can make a payment via mail. Unfortunately, you cannot pay your credit card bill at an Express store.
The Express Credit Card reports to the major credit bureaus Transunion, Experian and Equifax on a monthly basis, but there's no way to tell the exact date.
The easiest way to find out exactly when your activity is reported to the bureaus is by checking your credit reports.
It's hard to tell, as they will take into account multiple factors and make a decision afterwards. And while many users report initial Express Next credit card limits of about $500, that can change if you have a good or excellent score, a credit utilization of around 30% or lower...
No, unfortunately you can't get a cash advance with your Express Next Card. It's a store card, so it's relatively easier to get, but it does come with some drawbacks, like not being able to use it everywhere, or not allowing cash advances.

I have been a loyal card member since 2011. I pay off my card a few times a year, and make frequent, timely payments. I just received notification that my credit line was decreased $250 even though I have less than a $50 balance. When I called to find out why, all they would say is there was an issue with my credit. There has not been an issue with my credit and my score actually increased this past month! Totally ridiculous company that does not value their customers!

Horrible and ridiculous experience with this card and bank! They kept saying the post office cannot deliver my statement to my mail which I have had no issues with other banks. Since I have never received this bank statement and I though I had nothing to do with this bank and card (I disabled my card three months ago because I was very upset and angry of what they did), they kept charging me for a lot of late fee. Anyway, the most terrible service I've received! Really very awful and a nightmare with this card.
Will never recommend Express Next Card if they keep working with this bank. Very disappointing.

I applied after attempting the shopping Cart trick, which didn’t work. My Transunion is 612 and Equifax is 625. I have 5 derogatory marks. I have secured Discover, first progress, legacy visa, credit one,Merrick bank, care credit, Ashley furniture cards. I have used my cards and don’t pay in full. I applied for this card and got the 7-10 day message. I automatically assumed I was denied until I got a letter in the mail telling me to call and verify my identity. I called on a Saturday night at 9pm and answered the questions. She told me I was approved for $500!

Do not get a card with Express!! I’ve had the card since last year and it’s been nothing but a horrible experience! I initially got the card as to get 5% off my purchase and I liked the ability to pay online. However when I went to pay my bill online, 3 weeks later they send a late fee to my house. I thought that was weird so I called up customer service to get to the bottom of it. They assured me that it was a mixup and a mistake and cleared the account for me and gave me a confirmation number. A year later after that was made, express changed banks! They were with Comenitt bank and have now switched to portfolio recovery and they sold my alleged debt, dropped my credit 66 points and gave me a bill of over 200 dollars in late fees! Do your self a favor, never buy apply for an express credit card and if you have one, close it immediately!

i made a purchase last month 09/11 since i had a lots of items the customer service lady asked me if i wanted to open an Express credit card and save an additional 20% automatically so i agreed, a month later i couldn't see the discount on the card ,so i called twice in both times they promised that they will take care of it , yet nothing happened , after 40 days of the purchase, i emailed them and they replied saying the discount will show on the account withing 60 days!!! the money i saved will be paid in interest . the way i see it is that they think customers are idiots and promise discounts that don't exist , this is a SCAM and i will not give up that easy i will make sure that everybody knows about this!

The APR of 24.99% on the Express Credit Card is a little high, but about the norm from what I have seen of reward cards. It's nice that it doesn't have an annual fee as far as I can see, but disappointing that it doesn't have an intro APR or balance transfer intro APR to help entice people to sign up. However, the rate of return is pretty good, essentially giving you $10 for every $167 that you spend. That's a much higher reward rate than I've seen with other cards.

One thing I don't like about the Express Credit Card is that it doesn't allow you to transfer balances. And although the regular APR is high at 24.99%, I like that there is a grace period, as well as a lowish late fee of $35.00. Compared to other cards I have had, the 25 day grace period is an attractive feature. Although I don't have this card right now, I think it is no worse than many others and possibly better than some that are available. The Express Credit Card rewards program would be a big incentive if I decide to get their card.

One thing i did not like is the credit limit they gave me. They only gave me $500 line of credit. However, I really liked the the amount of points they give you for every dollar you spend. I was able to stay on the A list and rack up the rewards on a regular basis.

The Express Credit Card doesn’t look to be a very good credit card option for someone with established credit. The regular APR is high at a rate of 24.99% and there is no intro APR promotion. This card also doesn’t allow for balance transfers, cash advance, or foreign transactions. I see this card being best for someone trying to build up their credit. It offers a payment grace period, max late fee, and some nice rewards. If you can pay this card off monthly, it will help establish credit. A more favorable card would be the Citi Diamond Preferred Card. This card offers a 0% introductory promotion APR, a lower APR once the promotion has ended, and a rewards program.

I really, really wish I had known about the Express Credit Card sooner. 15 points for $1 spent is FANTASTIC, especially considering that Express clothes tend to be on the pricier side before sales are taken into account. The $10 rewards are great, and you earn points on those as well so it's a win-win situation for the customer. This card is definitely worth getting if you shop at Express on a regular basis-- the benefits will add up quickly!
