I got this card a while ago pretty much on impulse, as I was going to have to be traveling frequently due to a parent's health problems, and figured the points would be worth the $95 fee. My other card offers cash rewards, but no miles. Plus, there's a tiny part of me that likes having an Amex card, just for the sake of having one. Anyway, because I have a main credit card that I love, I didn't use this card as much and didn't gain a huge amount of miles beyond the initial bonus over the time I've had it, but it still managed to make one trip this year basically free. Because of the fee and because I get generally more useful rewards from my other card, I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on using it fairly frequently and like flying Delta. Fortunately for me, Delta is the only airline I've ever used to travel back and forth to my parents' house, so it's been helpful in that regard, but I can't escape the feeling that I don't use it often enough to justify the annual fee. This isn't necessarily a reflection on the card, more on my card-usage habits, but maybe you're in a similar boat as me. I fly frequently, but not frequently enough to make this my main card, which in turn makes it less rewarding to own. Vicious cycle, anyone?

If you travel a lot and pay for the travel with your credit card this is a great card to use. You earn double points on travel purchases and with the price of travel being so high the points tend to add up very fast. On top of that you are also earning points for every day purchases. American Express has always treated me as a human rather than a customer, or potential money. They are always on top of what's going on and there to help. For travel purposes and great travel rewards redemption this card is hard to beat.

I wasn't looking for a new credit card, but about a year ago I was traveling on Delta to visit my son and when I got to Atlanta to go to my connecting flight I was pulled aside by a couple representatives making me an offer I couldn't refuse. Sign up and get 30,000 Skymiles after my first $500 in purchases and also get priority boarding on Delta flights along with a free checked bag. I wasn't entirely impressed with the interest rate, but the annual fee was waived for the first year, so I decided I didn't have anything to lose, but a lot to gain. Now I have received a lower interest rate and the customer service is great. I love their website as it is well designed and easy to use. I have pretty much decided this card is worth keeping, though when the time comes for a renewal I will definitely look for something without that annual fee.

I have had this card for a few years and it is decent for a travel rewards card. I frequently fly with Delta for business and pleasure, so it was a no-brainer for me to pick a Delta rewards card instead of the many other options out there. The $95 annual fee stinks, but I accrue enough Skymiles each year that it is worth it for me. If you don't often fly with Delta or you will be using the card minimally, then this is probably not a good card for you. The AMEX customer service has been awesome! They are really good about flagging potential fraudulent transactions and notifying you about them. I have also had to dispute a couple of charges and they have been so easy to work with! All in all, this card is great for me because I earn so many Skymiles (and regularly use them), but I would recommend doing an analysis to see if it is worth it for you with the $95 annual fee.

I love my Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. It is definately one of the better cards. The rewards are my favorite part about the card. Having the miles works great to visit my son who is going to school across the country. We use this card fro everyday purchases so we can accumulate more miles. More miles means more times to see my boy. The annual fee is a bit steep if you are not going to take advantage of the rewards. There customer service department is good. They are helpful and very knowledgeable. The hold time is not that bad when you call with a problem and most things can be answered in the frequently asked questions section of the website.

My husband and I love to travel a lot, and this card has been perfect for us. The perks that come with it are great - we use the buy one, get one pass every year, especially because our family is from out of town. The skymiles shopping is also great; we have earned well over 1,000 miles on small purchases, such as flowers, by going through the skymiles shop. Their customer service is also excellent. We ran into an incident when we upgraded this card, and the customer service people were extremely flexible and helpful in resolving the issue. If you are going to travel a lot, this is an excellent card. If you aren’t a big traveler, the annual fee might not be worth it.

I just recently got this card and so far it is great! The sky miles bonus is a huge plus for me as I am a student that travels home and back frequently. Also the fact that your first bag is checked for free is huge for me moving my possesions home and back. So far no problems charging it anywhere as I would expect from this company and I must say that I like the look of it. If you are in need of a great card with amazing starting benefits, this is definitely the card for you. I highly recomend it.

I only had this card for a little under 1 year, as I didn't want to bite the bullet for the $95 annual fee. The main reason I signed up for it was for the 30,000 mile bonus, which is great because it's essentially a free flight just for using this card for an easy amount of purchases to accumulate ($500 in 3 months). Before canceling my account, I called and asked if they would waive the fee, but they wouldn't, so I canceled it. If you're looking for a credit card that you can easily take advantage of for the introductory rewards and then get out of before any fees kick in, this is the perfect one. As others mentioned, if you fly a lot the fee could be worth it, but for me it wasn't.

I have the card. I received a flyer in the mail to refer a friend and get 10,000 Delta Skymiles.. My friend completed the application on line , was approved but indicated that there was no where on the application that it asked who referred him. Therefore, Delta would not give my my 10,000 miles when I called and requested them.

I have been using this card as often as possible for a few years now and have been able to rack up quite a bit of miles. Converting the miles to actual flights has been relatively easy to do. AMEX’s online service is top rate as well and it is very easy to pay off the card when I want to. I prefer to use this card wherever AMEX is taken. I have tried other cards in the past but the rewards don’t seem to be as easy to use and the online service isn’t as good. AMEX customer service is always top rate as well so I don’t have to worry if the card gets lost or stolen either.
