No, unfortunately, there is no withdrawal limit that you can set on your Green Dot card. With your personalized card, you can withdraw up to $400 a day from an ATM and up to $2,500 from a teller in a bank branch, though such withdrawals must be done in increments of $400 or less. Best of luck!
You can't reload this particular prepaid card with a money pack, but you have four other reload options to choose from: direct deposit, bank transfer, cashing a check at Walmart and “Reload @ The Register.” That last option is most similar to buying a money pack, as it allows you to add cash to your card at retail locations. You simply give the cashier the money and swipe your card, and the funds will be...
Temporary Green Dot cards are only reloadable after successful identity verification.
You can add money to your card with direct deposit of your pay and benefits, with cash at a Green Dot retailer or through bank transfers. In most cases, your money will be available on your card within 10 minutes. Some retailers may take up to one hour.

You would not believe the problems my dad is having with this green dot card. He got his taxes put on the card. And they keep saying his address isn’t right. Have been giving him the run around for 2months. He sends in all the information and they say this or that isn’t right. When all his information is right.

Got one of their cards at WalMart for our granddaughter's birthday. Took her over an hour on the phone to TRY to register it. Finally had to register on line as the "customer service" rep was unintelligible and non-conversant with the English language. She had to (1) open an acount; (2) provide personal information to include social security number; and then (3) we find out that in addition to the $2 fee we paid when we purchased the card, there is a $7.95 monthly service fee for your account. This service fee was not mentioned at the "point of purchase", nor is it available with the card until you purchase it and OPEN the packaging. As a side bar comment, I checked BBB today. Green Dot is a member of the BBB with an "A" rating; however, there were 119 customer complaints mirroring those cited here and all were a 1 star. Kinda seems like the BBB might be a self-licking ice cream cone.

OK. Now have the card down to $0. HOWEVER, their system shows a "permanent" card on the way to be here later this month. Clicked on the "Cancel Card" prompt which referred me to a phone number. Going through the menu for our granddaughter's account their system says her birthday is incorrect. I checked the BBB site yesterday and BBB is STILL giving their "member" an "A" rating even though customer complaints in one day went from 119 to 122 and ALL negative. BBB rating is obviously not reliable. Finally, we are going to contact our elected representatives on this. We truly feel this outfit needs to be investigated more than Hillary or Donald.

If I could I would have given a negative rating! I purchased a prepaid Visa card with $250 for my daughter for Xmas, she put it aside until later this year unused. While on her trip she attempted to use her card, relying on that money to live on until she returned back home, it was declined with insufficient funds. The cashier told her that the account only had a total of $1.00 and some change. Not knowing what to do relying on that money for food to live on for her school trip she called the card number only to be told that she couldn't be helped due to system failure, but she could look it up online at the website. She called home and we looked it up and found no charges. My wife then attempted to call herself and was told that she was unable to help due to system failure as well. The next day another attempt to call the Green Dot company was other great failure only to be told that they couldn't help due to their system still under construction. But just a few hours more another attempt again the system was up but only this time we were directed to an automated system and couldn't get to a person at all. So my $250 just disappeared, my daughter (whom had to beg her teacher and friends for food) was scared for a child, and we as parents are left frustrated and angry for a company whom suppose to be a big great company is robbing people. I will not be purchasing any more of your brand and ill be boycotting along with reporting this to the BBB. This should have never happened and uncalled for especially when it effect a child. Green Dot is not worth the hassle.

I’m sorry this happened to your daughter. It’s absolute BS, and it should’ve never happened. They deducted money every month for a card that hadn’t even been used...horrible business practice! On top of that, as much as they are pushing their app on their customers, it would be pretty helpful if that app alerted us that our money is being stolen and our accounts are drained. Lo#d knows they never contact their customers about actual business.

The worst prepaid card ever! I got this card from my sister for my son's birthday, she told me she thought it is a gift card. When I start using it I realized that it is not a gift card and I need to create an online account with them to use the card which I don't mind to do it but the nightmare started once you have activated it. First, they charge you $7.95 every month if don't read $1000 and they charge $4.95 every time you are loading the card. I put it away once it's balanced $0.00 and after some time when I checked it I found that a negative balance of $7.95 I'm so angry and wanted to close the card right away and called customer service and he told that I have a negative balance in my account to get the balance $0 I have to reload that amount, i went the CVS and the guy told me have reloaded a minimum of $20.00 and it should be cash. I have to go back to my bank to get cash and return to the store and a lady told there is a fee of $4.95 to reload... once I have used the amount left the card has left $0.38 I called the customer service again (which by the way the worst customer service) after the lady asked me all the questions to verified my account she told that she can't close the account because I have a 40.38 left in my account I was so angry and told to talk to her supervisor and she put on hold for a long time and she told my account is closed and she rushing to hung up on me I stopped her and asked her to gave a confirmation # she a random number and when asked her to get an e-mail confirmation she said they do not have that and she hung up. I DON'T recommend this card!

I am very disappointed in this Card. I got 2 of them at Christmas from my parents. Each with a $60 limit. The first one was registered, reluctantly, online. I used it the day after registering in the amount of $38.75. I tried using it the same day at an ATM for $20. The transaction was rejected. I figured that was due to the $3+ for using the ATM. No big deal. I set it aside. I registered the 2nd card yesterday, again having to supply a Social Security #. Today my purchase was $55.42. The card only approved for $52.05. I thought that was a bit odd. I came home and decided to research GreenDot a bit. Upon reading the very, very, very fine print it all became clear. Immediately upon registration I was charged $7.95. A monthly fee. Hence, the $52.05 limit. Apparently I let the first card on my desk too long and now have a balance of $5.35. Out of an expected $21.25. I would not recommend this card to anyone. I have also told of my experience on social media. The hardest part was to tell my aging parents that they had been duped.

My boss was supposed to but gift cards for the staff, but he did not realize he was buying prepaid debit cards instead. Now we are all stuck with a $5 fee just to use it, and they are very difficult to use if you want to split a payment between the remaining balance of the card and some other form of payment. We all just want gift cards. How can we get our money back when this product was bought by mistake?

I did the same, I registered the card and the same day I went and purchased an actually gift card for the amount. I had to pay the gift card fee but avoided the $7.95 fee on the card and canceled the account immediately after. This was a very frustrating experience. If you don’t use the value of the card on your first purchase or on the day you activate you incur the $7.95. I say shame of the retailers for not making the purchaser clear on what they are buying.

I bought this card over a week ago so I can have direct deposit from my employer. My car has been locked for 10 days. They have almost $2,000 of my money after having multiple conversations with their representatives in the Philippines I was asked to submit a pay stub I repeatedly Express to them there is no such thing everything was filed electronically through QuickBooks there is no paper pay stub to be submitted. After sending them the bank statements from my employer verifying the direct deposit they insist that they need a paper pay stub in order to review the account. The representative told me that I have to do whatever I need to do in order to get a paper pay stub. Basically what she just asked me to do was to commit fraud and falsify documents on which I have no intentions on doing. I have no money to feed my family or to put fuel in my vehicle. I am filing a complaint with the office of the Comptroller of currency I'm also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office along with the Federal Reserve on the grounds of unfair practices under the federal Consumer Protection Law. I will also be contacting an attorney to file law suit against this company on the grounds of the above-mentioned.. After reading hundreds of complaints and I'm sure there are tens of thousands I believe there are grounds enough to file a class action lawsuit against this company and put them out of business for good.

OMG this is awful. My card was blocked without any notice, I received a new card but still can't access my funds on the card because I can't upload my ID to their stupid system and LORD knows I still haven't heard back from greendot regarding my funds and removing this crazy block on my card. I use to love greendot but not anymore I think this is a true rip off
