BEWARE! It gives me no pleasure to rate this card with no stars. The store and prices are great and having the card has additional benefits for points and pricing but the credit service itself has major issues. At the Kohl's cash register when checking we were checking out, we were encouraged to apply for the card, we were immediately approved, used the card right then for the additional cost savings and because we had
the cash on hand decided just to go ahead and pay the amount charged to the card right then on the spot and not receive a bill later. All seemed well until sometime, a week or so later, we received a call from someone saying they were with Kohl's asking for additional information (again card already approved and used) including a SS#. I refused to give that over the phone for fear of someone attempting identity theft etc. (something that had just happened in a big way to a close relative), and was told that we could present the info next time at the store. OK, we said that would be fine. Well, we sometime later received a letter in the mail asking for the same information and at this point decided it safe enough to send this info via email but first called to confirm that this was indeed Kohl's and to make sure we understood the exact documents required. I got off the phone and sent it immediately. Next time we went to the store we were told the account had already been closed (and reported to credit agencies), and although irritated, wondering why the woman on the phone didn't tell us the account had already been closed (a further indication that they don't have it together and their incompetencies could cost you via a damaged credit reporting) and there was nothing we could do about it (after a half an hour at the store on the phone with the credit services department, with the assistance of the store cashier who was quite nice and empathetic), but was encouraged to simply open a new one, right then. We applied and were denied. WHAT??? OK. whatever, perhaps a bit later after the smoke has cleared on the initial closing idiocy we could apply, which we later tried online and were once again denied, or so we understood. Turns out that account was actually open, which realized via a our own credit check as although we had received some letter in the mail from Kohl's, saying " your account has been closed," and another to the effect of "someone is trying to open an account with your info" and your card is being used fraudulently and will be closed. WHAT ACCOUNT??? We understood we had no accounts!!! SO....... the credit report now shows two closed Kohl's accounts which kills the credit rating we have been working to build after living out of the country for 7 years and not having much of a recent payment history fo for this reason. I called several times and even wrote a letter which I finally GOT a call in reply to but was told there is nothing we can do about it, as it wouldn't be fair to others to clean this whole debacle from your credit??? FAIR to who? This exact thing has happened before because you didn't get the info you needed in the first place, although activated the card and then called and asked to confirm SS# for someone who wisely wouldn't give it you over the phone??? KOHL"S DO YOU SEE AN ISSUE HERE? OR NOT FAIR TO THOSE WHOSE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED FOR NON-PAYMENT??? NOT OUR CASE BUT THE REPORT ON THE CREDIT REPORT COULD INDICATE THIS??? BEWARE of the CREDIT CARD!!
Absolute worst department store credit card of all time. Signed up and I never received 1 single card statement. I “thought” I had my balance paid in full the one time they talked me into signing up, and then Kohl’s permanently devastated my credit over $1.68!!!
They reported me late when I have ZERO late payments on my credit history and had NO IDEA thay I had any balance at all.
They never notified me and had told me an incorrect balance when I immediately paid off the balance that they quoted me after talking me into signing up for the card to get a 1 time discount.....
Kohl’s devastated my life long perfect credit history over $1.68 and refuse to correct their mistake after misquoting my balance when I paid in full!!
Their error Dropped my score from nearly an 800 Down to 700. I requested a correction since the $1.68 was an error in the balance I was told when I CALLED to pay the bill, and they refused to correct it.
$1.68 from Kohl’s could ruin your credit for the rest of your life. Absolutely unbelievable!!… show more

This card is great! It has a lot of discounts and coupons and you get Kohl’s cash. Shipping is fast. I was approved for $600 and was happy. I pay my bill off before the billing statement closes. I recommend this card if your credit is in the 600.

I applied for a kohl’s card. I currently use MyFICO, credit karma, Lexington Law, and Experian. I realize the score can change wildly between different bureaus, but also depending what score you’re looking for (ie mortgage is different than car loan). But on the low end my score was 612, high end 660). When Kohl’s ran the report with Experian, they assessed my score at 548 and there’s not a single model that suggests it
should be anywhere near that low. I called Kohl’s, they said it’s the bureau that gave them the score. I called Experian, they said they just send the information and Kohl’s analyzes it. Any ideas on what I can do? Now I have another hard inquiry, that will hurt me for 2 years with no benefits and it just makes me feel like it’s a broken process for them to be so different from everything else I see.… show more

Kohl's runs a shiesty business, My daughter got this card to help establish a credit history. She got the card in December 2018, she bought something totaling $65.41 in January 2019. She kept looking at the account on line for a due date but nothing showed up so I told her to pay it. She paid it in full on 1/22/19, on 1/25/19 she bought something for $38.78. She didn't bother looking at her account
until a few weeks later to see when her bill was due when she noticed a $27 late fee. The bill stated that her balance was $65.41 with a minimum payment of $27 due on 2/7/19 which had already been paid on 1/22/19. but according to Kohl's regardless of when you make your payment if you make a purchase all the way up to and including your due date you must pay it on your due date. So in other words if you pay your balance in full three weeks prior to the due date but make a purchase on the due date you must pay that on the same day. What kind of BS is that?
I'm giving it a negative 5 stars and warn everyone not to get this card go some place else. JC Penny, Walmart any place but Kohl's...… show more

I had this card and only used it about twice a year. Each time I used it I would have to worry about the automatic payments actually being taken out of my account. The final straw was when I purchased something on 9/1/18 and my verified bank account that they had on file was to be charged on 10/19/18. They showed in their system that my account was charged and that my balance was $0.
However, no actual charge showed up in my bank account. After a month 11/18/18 I receive an email saying you haven't paid your bill and we are charging you $29.06 for a late fee and interest charge. I call and ask them to take my payment, but reverse the charges for interest and late fee because they were supposed to automatically take the payment from my VERIFIED bank account. Then they say I can take your payment, but need to talk to the primary account holder (my husband). Whatever, but fine. My husband calls and they reverse the charges. We don’t see the reverse so we call again to make sure the charges were reversed, talk to a “manager” and after about a week we see that they reversed the charges twice. Now we have a credit on the account of $29.06. Today - 1/28/19 I call to let them know they have an accounting error and that they need to have an internal audit of my account. They keep repeating that they need to talk with the primary account holder to make that happen. Seriously?!?! I tell them I don’t want any information from them, even though I have all of the information they want, and I say so you are going to send a check for the balance owed to me then I will just rip it up so just do an internal audit. After the 5th time of the “manager” saying they need to speak with the primary account holder I just hang up. What kind of company wouldn’t just do the internal audit since a customer is telling them that their accounting department made an error? Glad I closed this account, but annoyed that 4 months later I am trying to get them to just fix their system. I was late just 2 days on my payment then they called me ask me to pay then I make the payment the same time they called me. After 2 weeks i got notification from my credit score that my score went down from 752 to 657 because they reported me as I'm late payment for 30 days which is never happened!!! it Was just 2 days. Then i called them told them about that
they said we sorry about that and they gonna fix that. After two months got mail from Kohl's said that they couldn't do any thing about that and they didn't make any mistake by reporting me to credit score!!! What I did is just called them and canceled my account with them. Is that how Kohl's treats their customers. I'm 5 years their customer.… show more

Kohl’s ran my credit, which lowered my score just to say I was denied because they “couldn’t verify my SSN “ through a bank I have an open account with. My credit is decent so there was no reason for this outcome. I won’t apply again or shop with Kohl’s. Poor customer service.

I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in April 2017. I applied for this card in July 2017 right after my discharged and I was instantly approved. I have no complaints so far.
I now have a total of 4 store cards and this is the only one that gives out discount codes and coupons which makes it worth having.
My only complaint is I haven’t been able to get them to increase my credit limit even though
my credit score has increased 100 points since I was approved… show more

I have an alert on my credit bureau files that makes creditors call before issuing credit...so I apply for their card and was told my application is \"pending\" until their specialized team reaches out to me. I would not do business with Kohl's credit cards and especially their online ordering. They make mistakes on orders, don't deliver on time and do not work with customers to make a satisfactory experience. I have had to call four different times to correct miss-billing that was entirely Kohl's mistake.

I have had this card for 2 1/2 years, and it is the worst credit card I have ever owned. Now I only put a few dollars on it when I shop in order to get my 20% or 30% with my purchase. I have had too many issues with getting into my account, especially with the webpage for it being unavailable half the time and being billed twice for things. I will pay it
right after I use it sometimes and still have the charge show up again on my next statement.I know they've made money off of me by charging me more than once for something and refusing to fix it. I've never paid late (despite the fact that I don't receive my statement half the time either) and never been charged interest, so maybe that's how they'll make anything off me. This is the worst credit card ever!! They never mailed me an actual credit card, So I only had that tiny slip of paper with my account number, which I unfortunately lost 6 months later. I literally could not access my account to make a payment. Even after calling and giving my SS# and DOB, I still could not get my Account Number. I dealt with customer service in the Philippines and was cut off.
Then, someone from Mexico City who actually lied and told me he would email my account number. Finally, I finally got a customer service rep in Wisconsin who was able to help, but that was a whole lot of wasted time and frustration just to pay my bill and give Kohls money.
Maybe this company should think about keeping its customer service in the USA where the operators actually care about their customers. It was a complete disservice to outsource my call to these other operators who were not helpful at all and literally lied. This Kohls credit card is not worth the hassle! Don't bother with it. You can still gt Kohl's Cash and coupons without this credit card. Don't waste your time.… show more

No complaints! Loving it so far the couple months Iv'e had it, great rewards perks. Credit line is low though but I'm okay with that since it's less temptation to spend. As long as you pay off your balance each month the interest isnt a worry, all rewards cards at least for stores have high interest rates.

If you want your credit score to take a hit use this card. I have paid the balance on time always but I missed one payment (due to the site and auto pay) issues, it got immediately reported to the credit bureau and my credit score suffered immensely. This is the second time it happened and I am cancelling my card right away. Not to mentioned that the late fees is $37 apart from your

I got a great deal on clearance sale discounts at the store when I signed up, and they offer numerous coupons and special deals. My credit line was $1,000. After I got the first bill, I began to create an online account. I stopped when I saw the Privacy Policy. They force you to agree to receiving emails, texts, AND auto-dialer messages on your phone, with NO option to prevent all this (except for nonaffiliate
marketing and to share about your "creditworthiness", which they are required by law to offer; they pushed to the absolute limit of what the law allows them to do, rather than respecting your privacy voluntarily). I called the phone number listed to request limiting sharing of my personal information (i.e., to avoid an onslaught of marketing annoyance), but the menu robot kept going on and on, trying to sell me more, tell me things I already knew, and gave no option to "limit sharing" as they promised in print. If this is so difficult, I can't imagine how customer service would be on any future issue. After trying several times to get through, both via phone and on their website to find where you can protect your privacy from invasion by whoever they partner with or sell your information to, I gave up. I will close it. IMPORTANT: DO NOT ACTIVATE THE CARD - by doing so, you sign a legal contract with them allowing this marketing travesty. By the way, the card is currently owned by Capital One. The credit card itself is nice to have because of the discounts and coupon perks however watch your bank account. Multiple payments have been removed, even cancelled ones and when you contact them about the issue their response is, sorry you will have to contact your bank.

All of my payments to Kohl's have been on time for three years. I enrolled in auto pay to ensure my payments would not be late. Never had a problem until recently. I received an email from Kohl's stating my payment was late. Not sure how this could happen if I have auto pay. They reversed the charges, but this significantly dinged my credit. Has anyone else experienced this?

Kohl's charge card is HORRIBLE ! I would NEVER recommend anyone get one. First, the site is ALWAYS down to pay your bill online. So, you get the incoveniece of either paying over the phone (which they charge you a fee for) OR you have to go into the store to pay (which is super inconvenient). So, needless to say I forgot about a couple payments (my fault I know). The late fees are horrendous.
So, I got a call from the company asking if I wanted to join their 3 in 3 program, in which you pay the same fee for 3 months and they are supposed to add that to your account and deduct a portion of your late fees. Well, surprise surprise... The third and final payment was "supposedly" schedule for the wrong day (even though while scheduling these payment dates, I was also putting the payment dates in my calendar). So, I call (on the designated due date) to figured out why the payment hadn't been processed. I was told someone would review my account and the phone call and get back with me. A month later I get an email saying I owed the same balance as I did before I started to program. So, I call Kohl's and the first person I spoke with gave me a sob story of how people have been calling out of work, so they were really behind on processing payments and claims. So, then she proceeded to tell me that my claim was reviewed and they denied it (thank you for notifying me like you said you would). I ask to speak to her supervisor. Supervisor gets on the phone tells me the same thing, that the claim had been reviewed and I agreed to a payment date that was agreed upon by me for a Wednesday (let me remind I was looking at a calendar while scheduling these automatic payment to come out of my account all on Friday's, why you ask because Fridays are when I get paid). So, I proceed to explain that to the supervisor and requested that someone else review the call because this was not right at all. So, I asked the supervisor hypothetically if my payment was missed, why wasn't the amount that I paid for the last 3 months NOT applied to my account. She couldn't give me a straight answer. So, needless to say I am officially done with the crappy service that Kohls offers. I will NEVER buy another thing from their store, and my charge card with them is cut up. The good thing about it is you get % off coupons AND...you can use up to 8 different coupons in one transactions. You can use your % off and combine with $ off amounts which can save you $$$$$.
Just remember,
When trying to establish, maintain credit. It is nice to have at least one card like this. The longer you keep, pay on time every month, it gets reported to credit bureau. The older your

The card itself had some nice perks with coupons and discounts but I have had the card for about two years with a whopping 300 CLI that never increased even when I asked so I closed it. My sister had the sam issue. I have other cards with much higher limits and it really wasn't worth keeping.

I applied for this card orignially because I do a lot of shopping at Kohls, and there are almost always additional discounts for cardholders. At the time I applied, my credit was OK, but not great. One of the things I love about this card is I can pay for something with my card, then turn right around at checkout and make a payment. So I do not have any interest charges, and it helps

I love what the benefits and discounts this card offers. However, it is only worth getting if you can pay the bill off every month. The high-interest rate (23.99%) is a disadvantage of this card. It also came with a very low limit compared to other cards I've had. Regardless, if you can pay the bill without accumulating any interest, it is well worth getting this card.

I like the discounts available when using my Kohl's card. However, the interest rate is high, comparable to most store credit cards, so I try to pay it off before each billing cycle, which definitely helps to build my credit score and save me money. I like the convenience of paying my bill online too because it makes it much easier for me to budget my money.

This card is nice because it gives you access to some premium discounts through Kohl's. They send you 30%, 20%, or 15% off coupons several times a year. However, watch out for the interest rate on this card. A plus is that Kohl's makes it easy to get around paying interest--- you can pay off your bill in store immediately after making your purchase. I find many discounts using the card and their customer service and online support are past outstanding. Really the only positive thing about this card is the 30-40% off codes and free shipping codes for card members. The late fees are ridiculous. Also, I have had the issue where i scheduled a payment, which was never processed, and so I was charged a late fee. The customer service for Kohls is also horrendous. I'd only recommend this card if you shop at Kohl's regularly for the extra card member discounts.

I like that a 15% discount automatically arrives with the card. I also like that there doesn't appear to be any yearly membership fee. What I most certainly DON'T like is the 23.99% APR. That sort of thing used to be referred to as "highway robbery," where I come from. The "grace period" is nice but, honestly, nothing at Kohl's is nice enough to forfeit 24% for nothing over. I would avoid cards like these

I've only had this card for a very short period of time. It is my first credit card & man all I have to say is I am in love. I get soooo many savings & so many stuff for cheap. I got a hoodie that was 60$ for only 16!!! Kohls is amazing with their discounts & kolhs cash & 5$ for every 100 points. To keep myself from going overboard I limit it
to only using it a couple times a month mainly for birthday gifts, because with all the coupons I could literally shop all day. Lol Hope this builds my credit really good. Has anyone else experienced a nightmare trying to get your credit in the form of a check back from over payment on a closed account? It's been nearly 6 months and 10+ phone calls and no one can seem to give me an answer, they just keep resubmitting a request to send the check. I will never get another Kohl's credit card and I discourage anyone else from doing this. The reason I overpaid was

DO NOT GET A KOHL'S CHARGE CARD...The website is ALWAYS down to make online payments... then when you go in the store to make a payment, they make you call and sit on hold forever.
Also, I overpaid $50 on my account and when I canceled the card, I had a $50 credit. I have called back over 10 times to check on the status of my check that has supposedly been distributed 4 times.
It has been 5, nearly 6 months and I have still not yet received my check and each time I call back and speak with someone different, I never get an answer.... they just process the check again and I have to keep calling back. They will not call me back and follow-up on the request.… show more
