This card is terrible. A limit of five payments you can make in a billing cycle. Never heard of such a thing and this is a scam. Prevent you from paying off your card so that they can continue to rack up interest charges. When I inquired about it, I was told by customer service that it was to prevent fraud. As if there is a fairy going around paying off people’s credit card bills.
I wish! I have also spent at least $2000 and have seen no Bean Bucks. The old system with the Barclays Visa was much faster and I could use my rewards quicker. As soon as they will let me pay off my credit card, I will be closing my account. This is a total scam. Bean will lose some loyal customers over this card debacle. Also it is very hard to reach their customer service people. Had to give my ssn twice and go through a long menu for an option to speak to someone. People don’t have time for this kind of BS.… show more

The transition from LLBean Visa by Barclay's to LLBean Mastercard by Citibank has been terrible. Cards didn't work for weeks, the customer service people constantly lie to you and their security is terrible. Citibank appears to be run by totally incompetent people, their customer serice people don't seem to be able to grasp basic concepts and most of them are rude and insensitive. It is no longer worth the LLBean rewards and LLBean should be
ashamed of themselves for picking such a terrible credit card provider.… show more

The credit card has great perks for LL Bean customers, which was why I got one in the first place. However, I am VERY GLAD that LL Bean is dropping Barclay's credit card. I used Barclay's website to pay the balance of my credit card every month. On my most recent bill, I had an overdue notice and a late fee! I couldn't understand why since everything looked good with the automatic payments. I called
Barclay's customer service and was told that automatic payments automatically STOP after 12 months!! I never received a notice that this was going to happen! OK, I paid the $27 late fee, despite knowing that the late payment was not my fault. What really made me mad was when the customer representative told me that the late payment would be reported to the credit bureaus! It is their policy to report payments greater than 30 days to the credit bureaus! I made the payment as soon as I learned of the problem but still will have my credit score dinged! Moral of the story is -- do NOT use Barclays and if you have to use them, don't use their automatic payments! Thank you LL Bean for changing financial institutions for your credit card!… show more

I am on the hold for the same problem as the review below. It is completely frustrating that I purchased over the phone and the card was declined 3 times. Then the Fraud detection department left a message and I have been calling multiple numbers, getting people that were impossible to understand, on hold, etc. All for the representative to finally tell me the hold was lifted and to place the order again!

I have had an LLBean Credit Card since they first began issuing them (20 years ago? 25 years ago?) and have an excellent credit rating. I have always paid my bill every month in those 20/25 years. Since LLBean switched to Barclay's Bank, however, I have several times been put in the entirely humiliating position of having my transaction declined because of their over-zealous and harassing Fraud Detection program. This happened to me recently when
I was unable to pay for (and thus pick up!) my car from the auto body shop. Only when I returned home (without my car of course since they had turned down the transaction) did I find a message from their Fraud Unit on my phone advising me to call them. The last time they did this to me was a weekend before Christmas when I was buying Christmas gifts online, and was forced to call them three times on one day! The reason that I have a credit card is for large payments and for online buying. This makes me want to cancel my card with LLBean just because, when you need it the most, Barclay's turns down your transaction. For totally bogus reasons.… show more

The L.L. Bean card is a solid option if you like shopping at L.L. Bean, and is an especially good card if you like your clothing monogrammed - the card includes free, unlimited monogramming on purchases made at L.L. Bean. The terms are pretty standard for a card like this - there's a max late fee of $37, which seems reasonable, and again, the 3% bonus' cash' is nice if you shop at L.L. Bean
that often (the rewards are issued in L.L. Bean store credit). Like any store card of this nature, you're going to get better use out of it the more you shop at the store.… show more

The L.L Bean credit card has some excellent features that offer a lot of options to me and other cardholders. The ability to get rewards on 3% of your L.L Bean purchase is a huge advantage as those rewards can give you a great value with future purchases. This is different from other cards because of the rate that you can accumulate rewards. Many other cards from stores let you earn good rewards but at
a much slower rate. The added benefit of getting 1% on all other purchases makes the accumulation of rewards even faster and this card that much better. The only negative is a higher interest rate but the rewards outweigh that negative.… show more

I like the L.L. Bean card for the rewards offered. Although it may seem like a small thing, the free monogramming is very neat and gives a special personalized touch to gifts. The interest rate is lower than my Capital One and the rewards and specials much better. Also, getting coupons in addition to the rewards is a great bonus. This card gives more than most that I have seen. No annual fees or any
hidden charges. This is a good card to have and the grace period is also fantastic. I would recommend it for both L.L. Bean and everyday shopping in order to get more reward points and experience all of the benefits this card has to offer.… show more

Overall I think this is a great card. The LL Bean Credit Card allows you to earn rewards quickly with everyday purchases, and even more quickly when shopping within the LL Bean brand. And as a Southerner, you better believe that by offering free monograms for cardholders, I'm monogramming all the things! I also like this card because unlike other store credit cards I've held in the past, you don't have to worry about overlimit
fees - plus there's a 23 day grace period, which is fantastic. It just shows they really care about their customers. All in all this is a great card and I'm confident to recommend it here, as well as to my family and friends.… show more

The L.L. Bean Credit Card is a cool card. You can earn rewards on everyday purchase, and you earn more rewards when you buy L.L. Bean merchandise. You also get coupons off L.L. Bean purchases as you shop. All your returns and monograms from L.L. Bean are free that's awesome. The APR varies, but it does stay pretty low. If you want to purchase Discovery School courses you get ten percent when you use this
card. This card is a great card for anyone who loves the outdoor life. The only think I do not like is the cash advance rate being at twenty-five percent. Other than that this card is awesome!… show more

The L.L. Bean card is a must have for those outdoor enthusiasts. Earning 3% back on L.L. Bean purchases and 1% on all other purchases to use towards a future purchase there is great. Not to mention, you get free returns and free monogramming at L.L. Bean! Overall this is a great card.

When you go on their website and you've forgotten your password, they require you to put in your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!! In 2015!!!!! Pretty funny how they offer free fraud text alerts but still, in this day and age, require you to put a SSN on a website for access! Who even DOES that anymore - it's insane! Come into the 21st century, Barclay! If it wasn't for LL Bean, I'd cancel this card because
Barclay evidently seems to be intractable on this SSN matter.… show more

The L.L. Bean Card offers a great interest rate at 14% - 20%. If you are a regular L.L. Bean customer I would recommend this card because of the 3% rewards offered on their products rewarded in L.L. The late fee on this card is kind of high. I do like the fact that there is no over the limit fee. Sometimes this is hard to avoid. The grace period is excellent. Sometimes things happen and you need just that extra time. This card does not have an annual fee so it does not charge to just hold the card. I like that.

I like LL Bean and the credit card is good for free returns and monogramming. I think the card is worth having primarily for free returns, and also to raise your credit score by having more credit that is mostly unused - at least that is how it works for me. A valuable rewards card pays cashback, in my opinion. Coupons are about spending, not gaining.

This is a great low interest credit card! As low as 13.99% for a credit card is rarely heard of these days. The reward and coupon potential are also appealing. The L.L. Bean card is great compared to the Capital One Platinum card I have been using until recently! I love that if I use it to shop at L.L. Bean I can get 3% back, that adds up quickly! The L.L. Bean Credit Card is really, really nice. It lets you earn 3% rewards on all purchases. 3%! Most cards offer only 1 percent, maybe 2 percent! The APR% is really, really good on it too in my opinion. And the maximum APR the card has is 27.24%, which is pretty good compared to a lot of cards that have over 30% maximum late APR% rates.

I love to break out my L. L. Bean credit card around the Christmas time every year. I've had the card for about 5 or 6 years now, and they will always run a special for current card members around the holiday. The L.L.Bean Credit Card gives you decent rewards, ranging from 1% coupon rewards up to 3% in coupon rewards. The interest rates are pretty good, and it does allow for cash advances. One downside is that there is a balance transfer fee, and the rates are high for transfers.

Excellent complementary card to have in your wallet if you shop often at L.L. Bean-- use it exclusively at L.L. Bean and use one of the higher, 1.5% base capital one cards for other general purchases and you'll be earning far more than using either card exclusively.

I chose the L.L. Bean credit card mostly because I found myself shopping on L.L. Bean more often for winter gear and jackets. I've had to return things and pay return shipping, but now that I have the credit card they offer me free returns. The extra 3% I receive on L.L. Bean purchases makes me look to them a little more often now. Their prices can be higher sometimes and the 3% back and
free shipping helps a little. They have great quality. My interest rate with this card is about the same as some cards that I have which don't offer cash back perks. The L.L. The L.L. Bean card looks very appealing. I am enticed by its 23 day grace period and free returns and monogramming at L.L. Bean stores. However, I feel like I am not a frequent enough visitor of the store in order to merit the potential 19.99% interest rate and whopping 25.24% interest rate on cash advances. These two factors, to me, as someone kind of new to managing my finances, seem kind of alarming and
off-putting. If you're a frequent shopper at L.L. Bean, with an established timeline of effective money management, I feel like this may be a credit card for you. For me, however, it has little practical appeal.… show more

If you love shopping at LL Bean like I do, then the L.L. Bean Credit Card is amazing. The no signup fee or annual fees is only the start. Everytime you shop with L.L. Bean you earn 3% bonuses that can be used in store or online. And if you are an avid shopper of L.L. Bean, then every dollar you spend not at store, you still get bonus rewards. There is a low interest
rate compared to other store cards like the Express store card which is 25%, whereas LL Bean is only 14%-20%. The L.L.Bean Credit Card is a good idea if you're doing online shopping for yourself or buying gifts for others. I like the fact that the card offers 3% rewards on L.L.Bean purchases which you can use to buy a variety of clothes, footwear, outdoor gear, and luggage, just to name a few. One thing that I don't like about the card is that it doesn't offer an Intro bonus; for instance, the Sony Card
from Capital One allows its cardholders to earn 5,000 bonus points within the first 90 days. Yet this card makes up for the Intro omission by offering 1% rewards on all purchases as well as free returns in case you do not like something you purchased at L.L.Bean. My initial impression of the L.L. Bean credit card was that is a good value. The interest rates are fairly low for a store card, there's no annual fee, and the 1% rewards on general purchases and 3% on purchases made at L.L Bean are on par with some of the better store reward cards, such as Amazon. However, where most other cards that generate points allow those points to be applied toward your balance
