I love my Macy’s card and, always enjoy the start reward dollar points, and definitely helps me with my credit score. I recommend this card. Not sure why my balance keeps showing 300.00 and it looks like has not been updated for the past 3 months and that affects my credit.

I love Macy's and Bloomingdales' but since Covid Citi has just kept decreasing credit limit on the Costco and the Bloomingdales Amex. Pay it down and wham! They lower it again. I find that hard to swallow as I am fully employed and have maintained my payments throughout this difficult time. So I hope they let up soon.

This is one of my favorite store cards. I use it mainly for presents several times a year and pay off each month. I love that I can purchase gift cards for those people who I’m not sure of sizes or styles. I hope to keep it for a long time! I also love that I can use it anywhere that accepts AMEX

Macy's Amex is actually a very good card it rewards you for shopping and as a Macy's customer it's quite easy to attain platinum level which also gives additional discounts and free shipping

Generally good card. If you're platinum you gain 5x points at Macy's, which can add up quickly. I like that I can take the rewards and apply them toward clothes. However, are many exceptions as to when you can apply the Star Money you earn, for example, it's not valid during certain sales, and Macy's is always having a sale, so it can be hard to use. Still, I feel like the 3% back on
dining is worth it and gives me an excuse to buy clothing, cologne, etc. that I want but am too frugal to buy.… show more

My credit balance is different than what is being reported. I try to make my Payments on time however please credit card companies report when they want to. It is very crucial to me to get my credit score up I am with reporting every two months it’s going to take a while.

Awful!!!! I will never use this card again. Somehow I thought I had paid off my balance and had a very small amount of interest that had accrued which I was not aware of. They charged my account several months of late charges and it affected my overall credit score. I will never use Macy's CC again. I called customer service and they told me it was out of their hands that it is all
generated by the computer. I had been a very loyal Macy's CC customer for many, many years. Done They eventually removed the charge but not the negative rating to my credit score. I found out it will remain on there for 6 years.… show more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is absolutely the worst credit card anyone can have. I don’t use it often, but I do I pay off in full. I misplaced a bill for $35 dollars and had to pay over $40 dollars in late fees. It’s complete thievery, I understand I missed the date due but the hefty late fees are completely out of control. I paid off and closed the card.

Have been trying to enroll in Star Rewards which I had on my old Macys Card. Enrollment is next to impossible - no help from Technical Support. I will cancel the card!!! Customer Service is impolite at best and nasty

Do not apply for this card!! After applying for Macy's American Express Card while purchasing a $3000+ king bed and adjustable base because they were offering 12 months interest free payments, we discovered after getting approved and setting up automatic payments online to avoid any late payments, that Macy's had been charging interest every month and now is giving excuses and saying issue will be resolved within 1 billing cycle, which was in October, and
nothing has been resolved. Every contact with them results in the same excuse of 1 billing cycle before rectified. Not only will we never use this card again, we'll never shop at Macy's either.… show more

Avoid this card at all cost! I got this card through the macy's store. I have good credit history and always pay my bills. I changed a new card 09/20 for security reasons. After I got my new card, Macy's American Express charged me again for $565.26, which I have already paid off! I called Macy's and the woman I spoke with, putting me on hold over an hour because she had to speak with
her supervisor a few times. Instead of resolving the double charges, she kept playing games with me and even told me to bring a calculator, which is not only a game, but an insult--I graduated from an Ivy league school, mind you. She said that she would call me back in a few days for follow up, but she never did. Never ever apply or use this credit card. If you do that, that will be a start of the nightmare. First, the 5% reward has a due date. So if you don’t keep purchasing from Macy’s, that is useless. Second, we just found out they submitted a late payment report to my husband’s credit union. The story is one day my husband pick up a 1-800 phone call ask him to contact MACY customers service.
We found out we have $50 balance due has pass due date for 30 days. Before that, we never receive any notification. And they even never send email or text information to inform us that we have balance due. We paid it as soon as possible. Then we contacted Macy credit union to ask their help to do the goodwill adjustment, the staff just don’t care and not willing to do this. This is the first late payment for us for the passing 20 years and now will stick on my husband’s credit report for 7 years. And recently we need to do home refinancing, that will be really bad impact on it. Just because that $50 balance due. Terrible. We were Macy’s platinum member ship. This is the worst card that you can have. My initial credit was $ 4000, I never had the need to push it to the limit and I always make my payments on time. A month ago I made a payment of $ 500 to the card and they responded by lowering my limit to 1600 ???? !!!! THEY HAVE NO SHAME !!, EVERYTHING TO KEEP CHARGING MORE INTERESTS ?? !!! HORRIBLE

December 2019, I contacted Macy’s to help me with a dispute with a vendor, Blessed Touch Massage. She promised to refund my money for services not rendered. She never issued a credit so I contacted customer service for assistance to get my money refunded to my AMEX. I provided 8 pages of documentation, including an IM from her stating she would issue a credit the following business day.
On January 29, 2020, I received a letter
stating they resolved my fraud claim and ruled in favor of the vendor because she was willing to work with me. These were prepaid services for massage sessions from Blessed Touch Massage that she did not provide. She didn’t show up for a session, I received no call or advance notice. I didn’t hear from here for days until I posted a negative review on Facebook. She messaged me and I explained her bizarre behavior on the previous session combined with the no show session I was no longer comfortable receiving any further services from her due to the intimate nature of the service. She agreed to refund the remainder of the money in writing!!!! How do you come up with a judgment in her favor?
I immediately contacted the number on the letter and was transferred, disconnected and put on hold for well over two hours. I finally got Esther to listen to me before transferring me again. She figured out it was misclassified and promised to forward to dispute resolution. I thought it would finally be processed correctly and I would have a resolution shortly. Nope!
I received another letter dated February 19, 2020, for a resolution for Walmart.com in the amount of $45.99. I have never used my card at Walmart.com. I immediately contacted the number on the letter and again, transferred, put on hold, disconnected and couldn’t get anyone to listen to me. Was told my Joanne to disregard the letter and that my dispute was still being investigated. Great!
February 25, 2020, just received a letter for a dispute resolution for $78.49 from PayPal*Thompsontho. Seriously, another letter for a resolution that is not mine? What is wrong with your customer service? Why can’t you get this resolved and why do you keep aggravating me with your mismanagement and incompetent employees?
This is absolutely unacceptable and this needs to be addressed immediately! I have provided ample documentation and followed up multiple times and after two months this is still pending.… show more

DO NOT USE THEIR CARD!!! They ruin your credit and will not help with fraudulent charges. They increase your credit limit based on "good standing" without telling you. I only found this out when I pulled my credit report for a house. RUINED my credit.

This card is great when you purchase a lot from Macy's. You get a lot of good deals and also coupons. Though the APR is bit higher, it should not be an issue if you manage to pay in full everytime and utilize the rewards more. It saved me a lot of money on some of my high priced purchases

I was upgraded without my knowledge to the Macys AME card. This card offers great promotions, however when you follow the promotion you won't get the reward. When you call in to see why, the CSR's hardly speak English and never seem to know what you are talking about. Then you will just get transferred around the system until you get so annoyed and just give up. This is the absolute worst card with horrible
non English speaking Customer Service Representatives. They will say any thing just to get you off the phone. You will have to call back numerous times until you will just quit out of frustration! Do not get this card. You will be sadly disappointed. Get a Macys Star Rewards card it's much better. After canceling a cable company that didnt deliver what they said they could do wich was streamming movies and canceling this card as well, macys amex imposed the continued payment to cable Co. But when they didnt received my payment, then they decided to cancel but have been asking for that one payment and I disputed that now 3 time over the last year, amex claims the dispute was resolved, I say "not by me!

I used this card a lot when the kids were growing up. Never found any other store where I could get everything I needed for them in one place. Macy's was a staple for years with me. I just stopped using them so much and account closed.

Had one of the worst experiences ever with customer service. I will not do business with Macy's anymore after this. I put a freeze on my credit file due to Identity Theft. On the same phone call I requested that a new card be sent to me. They never sent me a card and in a couple months later my account was canceled due to inactivity with no prior warning. My wife uses the card to buy other things than from the store and never showed me the statements. Then, I found the bill of $ 1700.00 she owes that I have to pay for and charges of .99 fees charged and $ 4.81 Intrest charge even though we make

The only thing I appreciate is that it is accepted outside of Macy's, essentially everywhere that accepts AMEX. Unfortunately linking the card and accessing account informatiion is not a user-friendly process. I am currently on hold, now 28 minutes on 1/2/19 waiting for a representative to fix it so that I can pay online. Apparently, prior to running the promo they didn't make payment options user-friendly enough. I entered my card # however the site

The Macy's employee lied about doing a soft pull to upgrade my regular macy's card to a macy's amex card, and they did a hard pull that affected my credit which I was trying to carefully increased for refinancing. Can't believe they can lie on something like this.

This company charged me $2.00 additional AFTER I asked for a credit balance for full payment of my account! THEN they had the temerity to charge an additional amount. I fought with them for 60 days on the overcharge that I was not notified about. It increased by $2.00 every month and finally it was settled. I will NEVER have an AMEX MACY'S charge again!

I just cancelled my Macy's AMEX after many years because I JUST noticed (my bad) that they are charging me interest even when I pay the full balance on time every month. They have some almost criminal way of calculating whether you have paid your balance in full and if there is $.01 remaining balance on the date due, you get charged interest on the full amount due. No way am I going to stand
