The Milestone Credit Card is an unsecured card for people with credit scores below 640. The Milestone Card has a $0 security deposit requirement and offers a $300 credit limit, with an annual fee of $35 - $75 the first year. That could make some emergency expenses a bit easier to handle, though a very high APR will apply to any balance that you carry from month to month. The Milestone Card’s annual fee can also be as high as $99 from the second year on, so you don’t want to need this card for too long.

You can check your Milestone Credit Card application status by calling 1 (866) 502-6439 and using the automated system, 24/7. Or, you can request to speak to a customer service representative from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Pacific Time, seven days a week. When prompted, provide your application reference number, which should have been included in the confirmation message or e-mail you received after you submitted the application. Milestone does not offer an option to check your application status online.
You’ll only need to check your Milestone Credit Card application status if you don’t get a decision right when you apply. If that’s the case, there may be missing or inaccurate information on your application. If you haven’t received a decision by e-mail after a few days, call Milestone for a status update.
You should receive your new Milestone credit card within 14 business days after you’re approved. Milestone does not allow for reconsideration if your application is denied. However, they may recommend offers for credit cards from partner banks based on your credit standing.

The Milestone Credit Card does not have rewards. Its main purpose is to help people with bad credit rebuild their credit standing. For example, people with negatives like a bankruptcy on their credit report might find the Milestone Credit Card worth applying for.
But people with bad credit or no credit who are looking for rewards will have to consider other options. The Credit One Platinum Visa is one possibility. It offers 1% cash back in certain spending categories. Or, there’s the Discover it Secured card, which offers up to 2% cash back on purchases and matches the rewards that cardholders earn the first year. But it requires a security deposit to open the account, unlike the Milestone Mastercard.

You can get pre-qualified for the Milestone credit card online. To check your Milestone Mastercard pre-qualification status, complete the online form and click the “Pre-Qualify Now” button at the bottom of the page. Pre-qualification uses a “soft” inquiry into your credit history, which does not affect your credit score. The Milestone credit card is designed for people for bad credit, so it’s good that a potential applicant can see if they pre-qualify without risking any further decreases in their credit score.
Once you submit the pre-qualification form, you should receive an instant response. If you pre-qualify, you should see an online offer to apply for the Milestone credit card. If you do not pre-qualify, Milestone may send you offers to apply for credit cards from some of its partner banks.
Keep in mind that anyone who plans on applying for the Milestone Mastercard must first be pre-qualified. Milestone does not send pre-qualification offers by mail.

To activate a Milestone card, log into your online account, then click the “Activate Your Card” link and follow the prompts. If you have not yet registered for an online account, you can do so from the login page. To register for an online account, you will have to provide your card number, birthdate and Social Security number (SSN). Once the card is activated, it is immediately available for use. The only way to activate a Milestone card is online.
You should activate your Milestone card as soon as you receive it, which is typically within 14 business days from when you were approved. The card will not work until it’s activated. If you have not received your card with 21 business days, call Milestone’s lost/stolen card department at 1 (888) 260-4532. After 21 days, Milestone may close the account if the card is not activated and you have not reported it as lost or stolen.

To cancel a Milestone credit card, call customer service at 1 (866) 453-2636 from 6 a.m. - 6.p.m., Pacific Time, seven days a week. Or, send a written request to cancel your Milestone card to Genesis FS Card Services, General Correspondence, P.O. Box 4477, Beaverton, OR 97076. The 16-digit card number is required for any cancellation request. Milestone does not have an option to cancel a card online.
When you cancel your Milestone credit card, it’s better to do so after you’ve paid the balance in full. Otherwise, you’ll have to make at least the minimum payment due each month until the entire balance is paid off. The account is not considered officially closed until there’s a zero balance, though you won’t be able to make any new purchases. The Milestone card’s annual fee is refundable only if you have not made any transactions before you cancel.
Cancelling a Milestone credit card may also affect your credit score. How much of an effect it will have depends on a number of factors such as your credit limit, payment history and how long you’ve had the card. You should expect your credit score to drop at least a few points, but you should be able to bounce back in a short period of time. Make sure to cut up your Milestone Credit Card and dispose of it once it’s been officially cancelled.

You can get a Milestone credit increase by calling 1-866-453-2636 (from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Pacific Time, seven days a week). It's wise to ask for an increase only if you've paid your bills on time for the last 6 months, though. An increase will also result in a hard inquiry on your credit report, which will have a slight effect on your score. Good luck!

I regret getting this card should have looked up reviews first. My credit limit was $300 they took $75 of it for annual fee, never got that back when i paid it so my limit was only $225 now... so just paid what I owed which was $130 so i wasted $75, I literally got this card too, i got it to improve my credit score which i was told after it doesn't... so i applied for a capital one instead, never had issues with them in the past canceled my first card bc i was young and spent the money on dumb stuff.… show more

I think the company does have some good points. But overall service is very very slow. You will definitely see your bill before you ever see your first credit card. Customer service is okay if you speak a foreign language. Just a very very slow process compared to other companies. I don't really have anything good to say about them yet I am not impressed. Don’t get this card!!!! They hold your availability of your balance for a 1/2 of month. Takes 14 days for your payment to clear and funds become available. Rip off!!!!! Annual fee makes you go over credit line they charge you overdraft fee

While it is fairly simple to apply and be approved for this starter credit card with Milestone ($300), be VERY AWARE that any payment you make is not reflected in your available credit for 2 weeks (14 days)! I paid mine off the first week and couldn't understand why the available credit wasn't showing up even though it cleared my bank within 3 days. When I called after a week, they told me that is their policy (which is on their account website AFTER you sign up). Had I known this policy existed, I would have skipped this card in favor of another card with more reasonable timeframe for your payments. I would NOT recommend this card. There are a half a dozen better options out there.… show more

Milestone is a horrible credit card to have, consumers beware! They will hold any payment for up to 14 days before your funds are available. I paid to a $0 balance and they took the payment out of my account. Then, they said they cannot release my available credit for 14 days. I asked them why. They said to verify fund availability. I explained to them that their bank sent a code to my bank and that I had a letter from my bank attesting to the fact that the code listed given by their bank was a VERIFICATION CODE. I told them the language of the contract and how their actions conflicted with it (14 days to VERIFY availability and that is stated as only to VERIFY not simply for the sake of holding it.) Total crap don't waste your time or money. I will never use his company again, I'm going to cancel my card. Rude customer service and they lied and said that they never promised me if I paid online I would get my funds available the next day. Instead, I have to wait 14 business before I can get access to funds I paid them. They are completely archaic and don't have an app to pay bills or manage your account. Want all your personal information even though you have to enter card information and ss # to get started on phone. I applied for a card and after submitting the application it requested I send proof of address via mail or fax. This is an absurd request and impractical because I do not have the resources to print or fax documents, which then voids my application after 30 days. A hard inquiry was made on my credit immediately and no one can help in customer service. I asked where it was written that I would have to submit something like this to complete an application, because I would have never applied for the card if I knew I was going to be requested to mail or fax additional information. Payments don't process for 14 days, you have 14 days waiting on credit availability. After making payments you should never have to wait 14 days for it to reflect on your available credit, High interest rate also.

If I could give negative stars I would. Consider the one star you have to give to submit the review a negative one! This card will "give" you a low credit limit ($300) and then charge you a $99 annual fee. I held this card for over two years and always paid off my balance ON TIME every month. They never raised my credit limit. I closed the card in May 2020 before my next annual fee. Then today (6/27) even after getting a letter that the account was closed I get a statement notice with a charge that they allowed on 6/12. I forgot I had a annual newspaper subscription on this card. They should have not allowed the charge on a closed account.

I got my credit card back when my credit was still fair, and kept it. But, as I stated, there are no credit limit increases.
I've seen some people saying you can call in and ask for one, but either it's limited to specific people—possibly part of a pilot program; or they haven't updated their website to reflect they do in fact give credit limit increases; or I just wasn't connected with the right person.
Whatever the case may be, Genese FS Card Services, is the barebones. You should just keep it for very minimal use if you get approved.… show more

If you are trying to build your credit this card is for that purpose ONLY. Once you get your card there will NEVER be a credit line increase. Its not in their policy. Idc if you make on time payments for 2 yrs like me, you will never get an increase. I didnt know that when i applied. There are many other cards that you can get besides this one..I would advise against it..

I have had this card well over a year. I made some purchases but recently made payments and got my balance down to $13.47. I then get online to make my last payment before closing my card I see there are several transactions on my account and my balance is now 366.90. I was instructed to report the transactions which I did and was told that my account would be closed and a new card would be issued but not until I make the 13.47 payment. My account was closed and I now need copies of my transactions from Feb 1st to present and I was told that they were being sent (faxed) as we speak. I waited for 4 hours and still no fax. I called back and was then told it takes 24 hours to fax it. I waited well over 24 hours and still no fax. I called again and now I am being told it takes 3-5 business days to fax it. This companies customer service is awful!!!!!!! I was on hold most of the time when I called, told several different things, sent to a supervisor where I was told something different, and here I am still waiting for my fax so the police can finish their investigation. SMH!!! Makes me think they had something to do with the fraudulent charges. When these transactions get credited back to my account I will be closing it and never opening it again.… show more

I entered into a settlement arrangement to pay Citi on my account ending in 3582.
The LAW provides for 90 days once entering the agreement, regardless of proposed installment dates. 2/26 - I paid $250 3/26 - I paid $250 4/26 - Final Payment tentatively to be paid for $751.
After being affected by Covid 19, I called to get this final payment date RESCHEDULED, and they flat out refused. I know for a 1000% FACT that they can do it, and that provisions of settlements allow in regulations for a 90-day payment period. I also know this to be true, because AmEx, Citi Financial, and Discover all allowed me to do it. I asked to pay it on May 15 (still less than 90 days from start of plan to finish) and they flat out refused. I requested time to pay due to Covid 19 income loss and they flat out refused. I requested another settlement for the remaining $751 and they flat out refused.

They haven't implemented one thing to help their customers. The only option they have is this "build your own plan" available on the internet on their site which only approves it if you do a significant payment, on a monthly basis, which doesn't reflect someone's capacity to pay on an ongoing basis. There is literally no way to get an approval, unless you type in a very high significant amount. This is the same feature that has always been on their site. It is NOT directed towards helping people with Covid. 3 of my other creditors immediately enrolled me in a 60-day plan with no payments. Capital One had nothing. They are truly a selfish greedy company. I have lost my entire income due to Covid 19 since March 13, and have been trying proactively to get help from them, and they flat out refused.
I live in Arizona, and the Department of Employment Security (DES) and the Unemployment Office does not have the system set up yet to pay sole proprietors. They expect implementation on May 12, and payments to start being made to the unemployment self-employed group shortly following that. I find Capital One's inability or refusal to help me an egregious lack of support and expectations by consumers and the federal government, and I'd like to have a full investigation done into Capital One, not just through them replying to my statements, but I'd like to see the CFPB launch an investigation into their refusal to help me. I will also be reaching out to the top executives in my LinkedIn network to shed further light on this, as well as the non-cooperation of senior account managers to work with people.
This is deplorable, and I want to throw up just thinking of how they are not helping people. I want to cry. I consider how much stress this is causing me. It's awful to have no help from them. NONE! I sure hope they get what they deserve, by going down when nobody pays them due to Covid, and people are forced to file bankruptcy. It will happen, and Capital One's Managers who refused to work with me, will suddenly find themself where I was. I will make sure everyone website, platform, and review center knows of this. As well as the BBB.

I was looking to clear my credit card debts and improve my credit score to be able to purchase a new car. I researched several credit repair agencies and did have some apprehension to utilize a credit repair service. I signed on with a hacker known as Webghost33 (telegram)on 05/23/2020 and at this time my credit scores with the 3 agencies were 593, 619 and 623.

Hey friend. Sorry to hear about your horrible situation. As a sole proprietor you are elgible for a Paycheck Protection Plan. It is offered through the SBA. Please go to the bank which you do business with (business relationship, not personal), and go online to sign up. If you are with Bank of America, go to Bankofamerica.com/SBResources it will ask you to sign into your business account and go through the loan process. I DO NOT recommend this card whatsoever, I made the same payment 3 times they told me it was stopped the first time because I gave them the wrong account number, the sending time becomes it was 4:00pm on a Friday, and they dont process it that late EVEN THO I have another account thru them (Genesis) pair on the same day one went thru the other this one did not on the first payment, now they have placed a hold on the card, and have put on my CK thay I have missed payments. All I can get from them is I’m sorry for your inconvenience, inconvenience hell l this is a BS credit card they just take your money and hold it they’ll play games the rest of the time I’m guessing until you pay it off then they take the hold off. I’m glad I found out in the first payment they do this instead of it getting longer into it. I’m rebuilding my credit after a serious job loss and foreclosure. Although it’s been several years, I’m finally able to get a credit card through Milestone. There’s an annual fee, but I expect that anyway. I’m just trying to increase my credit line where I can and they approved me, which really means a lot to me.

I like this card. I've had nothing but good experiences. I'm not sure why all of the negative reviews. Its as simple as this: You pay your bill on time every month and there should be no worries. My only issue, and it MINOR, is that after you pay your bill, it takes them a while to update your available credit.

Milestone Mastercard Customer service is very poor. I called multiple times to ask about a creditcard debt where they could not provide details on what occurred. I ended up getting contacted by a third party company requesting an additional $800 after paying my $624 debt that MilestoneCard already had accepted over a week ago. I have no way of speaking to Milestone about my payments and when trying to write a message on the Milestone site received multiple site errors saying that the message would not go through. I overpaid my debt by over $600 and now have no way of speaking to someone who can assist.… show more

This card sucks I would not recommend it to anyone else. When you pay your bill it does not come out of your checking account for 30 days. I live paycheck to paycheck so when I have the money to pay my bill I expect who ever to take my money out when I call in. Not 30 days later.... This card made me bounce checks all the time. The customer service person is always rude. And one time when I asked them if they took my payment out they said yes and so I spent the money, turns out they didn't. I tried cancelling my card and they still have not done it. DO NOT GET THIS CARD!!!!! Very un satisfied they need to have a zero rating… show more

Where do I begin with that review? When they told you they took out the money it could be still processing. You are cashing checks your income can't write.
You need an app for your bank so you can see exactly what your balance is everyday. You also need to set your alerts to let you know when a payment has posted from your bank. Once you see that, you're good to go.
But seriously, the card didn't make you bounce checks. Your inability to know what your bank's balance is caused you to assume everyone was paid. That, my friend, is why you have poor credit and need this card.
One more thing... banks don't take 30 days to process a payment. The payment was probably returned and since you don't check your bank, you probably missed when it was presented and returned. In any case, this is a hard lesson but definitely one you can learn and fix ASAP. Good luck! And don't give up!… show more

Shame that they took so long taking out the payment, but they didn't make you bounce checks. You didn't keep up with your account. I live paycheck to paycheck too. These days with smartphones, tablets, and laptops its quite easy to keep up with your checking account.

I was pleased to receive my Milestone Card, however I was penalized because I used a debit Card to make a payment to my account. My employer issues debit cards for payroll. After my payment confirmation, I late found out that Milestone only accepts payments from checking or savings accounts. Now I am being penalized for 14 business days even though I made the payment good by opening a checking account. My bank has disbursed the funds to Milestone, but they don't care. I a little disappointed. My hands are tied.....think I will pay this off and move on.… show more

I have a debit card too. The way I get around that when that happens is it give them the routing no. and account no. for that debit card. Hasn't failed yet.

Not sure why everyone is talking trash about this card. I haven't had any issues. I make my payment on time, and keep track of my balance. Reports just fine to credit bureaus. The only issue I do have, it will take 14 days for the payment to reflect on the card. Just like capital one and open sky they all take 14 days to reflect the payment. You want a better card go with Citi, you make a payment that same day the funds are available.… show more

I believe that the credit card companies will put holds on your credit balance until they know your payment methods are not risky. Many of those with poor credit bounce checks or payments so this is a safe practice. Once you've established that you're responsible, your credit won't be restricted. For me, it took two billing cycles. YMMV

Ive had Milestone and was never late. I decided to close it because though they took the money from my bank, they did not credit my account timely...they charged me a late fee. My last payment was to be $27...which was stated on their recording. they charged me a late fee because they said it should have been $30 so they charged me a late fee. I reluctantly paid it all off and in turn they reported me to the credit bureau saying i was 30 days late. I was never late in the history of this card. Be safe with these people. I made arrangements in advance because I was going to be late on a payment. The rep said it would be fine since there is a grace period and not to worry as long as I caught up before the end of the grace period. The day before my payment was originally due, the day of and now the day after (mind you all a week before the arrangment I had already made with the company) I start getting a call every hour to 90 minutes about my payment being late before it was actually late. The reps were pushy, rude, overetly insulting and hang up when I ask them to refer to the account notes or if I ask to be transferred to a different rep or manager. I am a day late right now, still in the grace period and already have 11 calls today alone. Next week when my delayed pay comes in I'm paying off the full balance and cancelling so I never have to deal with this nightmare of a company ever again.… show more

Absolute garbage of a credit card company. I had available credit yesterday and it magically went to 0 the next without warning. I even paid more than my minimum amount due before the due date and I haven’t used it since. My statement balance is less than the limit but still have no credit available. Absolute garbage!

I received the card, attempted to buy gas twice, declined each time and the CS acted like they dont know why. I was then told that the card was frozen for 24 hours since it declined twice since I had available credit when I had received it.

The company is extremely outdated. There's no app for the credit card and sometimes it takes a long time for the website to update when your making purchases. I do not suggest anyone on getting this card no matter the circumstance are. Your better off getting a secured card.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT CARD!! They conveniently do NOT tell you that you must pay the $70 stinking fee * BEFORE* you can make any purchases! Additionally, the APR is ridiculous, compared to the credit limit -

Looks like someone didn’t read the fine print. What would you expect for bad credit? They aren’t going to give you American Express benefits with bad credit. Let’s be real here. I bet they told you if you would have read the fine print or the disclosure agreement with the APR info etc. smh, more people who don’t investigate or read things before applying. I don’t fell bad for you one bit!

HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE! And in fact, HORRIBLE is an Understatement! I guess this is the price you pay when you don't have no credit. Lesson learned! I would recommend anyone to either get a capital one if possible or another credit card except this one.

Horrible do NOT use this company!!!!’ Charged me a total of 4 payment reversal fees with duplicates in the same month because of me trying to pay it twice to pay it off faster! The customer service doesn’t understand English either and was zero help. Filing a complaint to BBB and already contacted small claims court because there is no way in hell I am paying 150$ in fees when I wasn’t contacted

This is the worst credit card I have ever had. I applied for it in June and received the card June 22. I read the letter that came with it and it said my 1st payment of $75 was due in June 22nd. And if not received a late fee would be added. I couldn\'t believe what I was reading. A payment of $75 was due the day I got the card and a late fee would be added if I didn\'t pay it on that due date. THATS JUST WRONG. IM SO ANGRY ABOUT IT THAT IM GOING TO JUST CUT IT UP AND SEND IT BACK TO THEM. ITS A SHAME YOU CANT FIND AN HONEST, HELPFUL COMPANY ANY MORE.

I've had this card going on 7 months now, and when I realized after opening this credit card that there is NO CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE PROGRAM in place, I decided this was simply going to be a dormant card for 2 years. I'm keeping it open only for 2 years so my credit age average over the other many, many other credit items I have doesn't suffer. Credit age average is a BIG DEAL. So if you get this card with a 450 or 500 credit score, you'll get a $300 credit limit, but you''re dead in the water with any chance of a credit line increase.… show more
