Wallet hub said i had good chance of getting approved and i got denied. Now it will affect me credit instead of helping it. I trusted the wallet hub that I would get approved if not i would have moved along. Not happy at all!!! Don't apply unless you have a score of 650 or above!!!

Capital One took a chance on me when my own personal bank would not! I have to review this card simply because it over delivers on its promise. I wrecked my credit 4+ years ago. Since then I have disputed accounts and monitored my activity closely. I was well below a 600 when I opened a secured credit card with Wells Fargo back in 2014. The banker misled me and told me that I would
have an unsecured card within a year plus have my deposit returned. I started with $700 and to this day they still have not returned my deposit despite multiple calls to review my account for an upgrade! There is always an excuse! And I have not missed one payment!
I say all that to highlight the fact that I opened my account with Capital One in March of 2019. I was approved for a $1500 limit and used this card heavily like a debit card. I applied for this card after reading reviews about their 6 month credit limit increase. I also contacted their customer service repeatedly for clarification, the experience was always above expectations. At the age of 29 with virtually no credit I needed all the increases I could get. I only expected a $500 increase. I woke up this morning and went from $1500 to a $4500 limit! Capital One is great to have the limit increase progress bar. It said that my increase would come between Sept 14 and Oct 14. Well “Christmas came early” and on Sept 8 I have been upgraded!
I plan to challenge Wells Fargo soon on my security deposit even more because Capital One has given me the confidence to do so! I hope this review helps! Cheers!!… show more

I had a score in the mid to high 600s when I got this card. I have a new auto loan, but paid off all other debt. My initial credit limit was $300. After 6 months of using it for normal weekly purchases, paying it fully the next day or two (to get maximum cash back and be able to use it again), and ensuring my balance at the closing date was always $0, my
FICO score increased to a 3 bureau average of 738. I expected the C1 limit to raise to $500 based on what was shown on the website. It raised to $3300 instead. I love cash back; it's amazing to get extra $ instead of owing interest.… show more

So far I'm happy. I have an annual income of 70k, my FICO score is 705 but wallethub says my credit score is 656 and I was approved for 5k. My father recommended I apply for capital one to take advantage of their intro 0 interest balance transfer to help me pay off my credit card debt.

Capital One decided they were going to screw everyone in the world over this month. Suddenly everyones due dates and statement dates were changed with NO NOTICE. I use my card several times a month and pay it off multiple times before the statement comes out so that I always have 0 balance reported to the credit bureaus. This way I get all the rewards back from using it, and pay no interest. I paid
it off on my normal date this month and waited for a statement that never came and started using my card again. I used it for a huge purchase that took up nearly all my available credit and they made a statement more than one week after me normal statement date THE DAY THE PURCHASE POSTED. I had no chance to pay it off and now my credit is screwed. Thanks a lot Capital One. I have 2 cards with Capital one and I will never use them again.… show more

I applied for this card and was approved 3 years after a ch 7 bk. Though the initial cl was $500, I was pleased because C1 gave me another chance after including 2 of their cards in my bk. My bk was in lieu of a divorce and losing my job at Circuit City when they filed bk. I’m rebuilding my credit and happy to C1 is what’s in my wallet....again!

Capital one is awesome! Capital cerdit has been good to me over the past year. They done everything they said they would. Have two cards with them never had any problem at all. Having there cards really has bosted my cs all the way around. There app is easy to use even for older users lol. Thanks Cap one.

This deserves no stars.
I tried setting up a mobile payment on my CapitalOne app. At the time I was out of the country in Mexico. 3 separate times the payment came back as returned over the course of no more than 4 days. When I got back home to San Diego I called to take care of it - I was placed on hold for close to 45 minutes. I hung up because I
had to go into a meeting. Called back in the very next day because when I checked my account both of the credit cards had been closed off due to the returned payments.
I had NEVER missed a payment with them. I got absolutely no call or heads up that they were going to close my account. They closed both of my accounts even when the other one had no returned fees.
Now they are saying neither account can be re-opened. Keep in mind I never had a late payment, called in to make it right, wasn't given any warning, and they come back with this. It's ridiculous. This is going to adversely affect my credit when their app was the reason I wasn't able to get my payment scheduled properly.
I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. Unfair, unjust, unworthy. Don't open a credit line with them. I will be reporting their practices to the BBB as well as sharing this information with my network on every social media platform I have. Don't trust the cheerful TV commercials - it's all bullshit.
**The reviews on their website are fake since there is no where to leave one.

WalletHub said I had a Good chance of getting approved. Went to Capital One website and didn’t pre-qualify for any of the cards. I bit the bullet and applied to the Quicksilver card and was approved for $300 credit limit. Im in the stages of rebuilding my credit. My current scores, TransUnion 624, Experian 598, Equifax 622. One baddie falling off December 2018.

This card is OK. I got a 500$ credit increase after 7 months of on time payments. I paid my balance off in full each month only charging 30% of my credit limit. They really need larger credit increases. The card could be better!

I had previously killed my creditworthiness. I applied for a Capitl One card on a lark and lo behold, they actually issued me a Platinum card with a $800 limit which was increased to $1,300 within six months. Now, for years later, having used the card wisely and paying on time and usually the full balance, they offered to promote me to their Quicksilver card and have increase my credit line to $3,300. I only
wish that they would decrease their interest rate, but it really doesn\'t matter most of the time since I payoff the balance quickly.… show more

Really like this card earning cash back is immediate approved with a low 600 score 3000 5 month up raised to 3500 do use it often sometimes carry a balance but make multiple payments until paid off. Cap 1 and I do not have a love affair tried many times for an offer from them glad i finally got one. They don't like a balance but they like to see you use it. It's nice
you can use reward money back on your balance. Hoping for a better card but can not seem to grab an offer, even with a good score. Probably one of the best reward cards for fair credit.… show more

Great foundation for building credit! Was approved at 620 for 300! Capital One is an excellent bank for folks with little to no credit history and they really allow you to get your foot in the door so to speak. Use there cards responsibly and your score will be climbing in no time.

I have been using this card for a little over 6 months now as a way to rebuild my credit. I have been making my payments on time each month and just recently got a credit increase, which I was really excited about. I did not have to call and ask for the increase it was just automatically given after 6 months. The cash back isn't very much as I have only earned $7.00 over
the past 6 months and I use the card quite a bit.… show more

To heck with this, Truliant Federal Credit Union gave me a 9.15% variable rate Visa w/out any fees (nor any rewards, these are for those who selects the 14.99% rate card). What's so surprising about my experience was that I hadn't used any form of credit for a decade, although my credit score was a whopping 742, mainly because of three accounts still being reported in good standing, although closed one in 2005, the other
two in 2006.
Of course, the visit to Truliant itself caused two 'hard' pulls, one to become a member (checking & savings, totally free due to being 55) and the other for the Visa application. Although I elected to wait, didn't take long, walked out the door not only as a Truliant member-owner, also with a set amount of credit amount in hand. While I was offered a generous amount, instead chose to limit the amount to $500, which is one-fifth of what was offered.
One doesn't have to earn $75K & have a wallet of credit cards, an auto loan (or two) & mortgage to earn a high score (back then, mine was only 720), it's managing what credit we have responsibly. Therefore, one can have a great score by having a couple of small accounts open & pay on time or better yet, the balance in full every month. I've set things up to where I get a text message 7 days before a payment is due, so that I don't forget to pay.
If one lives in Virginia or the Carolinas, visit a Truliant branch nearby or apply online. Note that with a credit card application, proof of income is mandatory, regardless of source (am disabled, so carried my benefit statement with me). Plus I cannot guarantee that everyone qualifies to become a member, they (like banks) can reject even a membership over low credit scores. I was never told the minimum, nor did I ask. It's just that Truliant is the only 'open' credit union in NC, one doesn't have to work for certain employers or the government.
I'm still tickled pink that I had a 742 score with no credit utilization for 11 years (limited credit) & could had walked out with $2,500 limit at 9.15%. That's over 3x less over what some 'limited credit' offerings on here & similar sites advertises (24.99-29.99%) & loaded with fees, over a third requiring some form of security deposit.
In closing, while I suppose this offer is better than none for some, for me, thanks, yet I'll take a pass on Capital One. Not just because of this, back in 1998 when earning better money & a 700-720 score, gave me a mere $200 limit & after a full year of on-time payments, wouldn't consider an increase on line of credit. My local bank (then Wachovia) whom I had a mortgage with offered me a $5,000 'Gold' card & provided some checks. One was written to Capital One to pay off the slightly over $100 owed & I closed the account. The rest is history.… show more

I'm getting to the begining of the eighth year since my Chapter 7 was posted on my credit report and I decided it's finally time to find a card... I did my research first and I chose this one because it earns extreme rewards... But I didn't expect to be treated like an American Express customer would with Good+ credit... This card is extremely high quality, customer service is premier and the payments post within
the next revolving day, unless it falls on a Sunday.... I have never accrued interest and I now have $26.88 in rewards cash just for swiping the card at any given merchant, virtual or face-to-face.
My credit is now on it's way back to 700 from a 640-650 range. Don't apply for this card if you do not have at least 640, you will most surely be declined.
I highly recommend this card, however, if you have a 640 or more and are looking to make some money. Just post those payments, and run a ledger if you have to. You got this!… show more

This card is ideal for people with limited history or lower credit scores. If you pay on time the first 5-6 months, you'll see a huge boost in CLI, which was a nice surprise in my opinion. Customer service is also some of the best I've seen, and I've been put through the ringer with several other companies. I was put in touch with someone right away on the phones with Capital One and had
my questions answered immediately. I highly recommend them and their services. The APR on this card is a smidge high, but if your credit is good enough, shoot for the regular Quicksilver to avoid paying so much interest. All in all, good card, good company, I say go for it. Hope this helps. ;-)… show more

I got this card because I was trying to establish credit and it is doing a good job of that. I like how there are cash back rewards and find that they add up quickly and like that they can be used to lower your balance. I do wish that it did not have an annual fee. I initially got this card because I trusted the name brand and liked the prospect of cash rewards back. Getting 1.5% cash back on all my credit card purchases is a REALLY nice perk and is hard to beat. It's unlimited so you can use it as much as you want, and really adds up over time, even on small purchases here and there. The interest rate is pretty reasonable but I always pay my
full balance off, so the main benefit to using the card is getting the cash back for me. Cash back is better than just earning points or discounts like so many other credit cards do, because I get to decide how I spend it. I would definitely recommend this card to other people, but would caution them to use it like I do and pay things off in full, that way you can fully utilize the cash back rewards and it is basically like getting free money.… show more

Once my family had gotten our credit up to a point where it wasn't scary to look at it, it felt like a very important achievement. Furthermore, and better, it opened a lot of doors for us in terms of credit cards. Up until this point, our credit card was a secured, low-limit thing that we basically only used for emergencies, or to use and immediately pay, to boost our credit. This is the card
we decided on once we had the option to get a card that was more useful and rewarding. Now that we've established our pattern of use (pay off what we spend right away), the relatively high APR is not really a big deal, but what is are the rewards points that we get. 1.5% cash back adds up super fast, the way that we use it. At no point have we experienced problems. It's a great card that I don't regret having at all. I've always been happy with Chase's customer service, and I would definitely recommend it to others, looking for a good rewards card, and who have maybe just emerged from the financial wilderness themselves.… show more

This card is decent, it was the second card I got after rebuilding my credit and not having cards for many years. I would say it is a good "starter" card. The initial credit limit was on the low side, but I was enrolled in the "credit steps" program that guaranteed a credit line increase after paying on time for three months. My credit limit was more than doubled after the 3 months so I
was very happy with that. The 1% cash back reward is ok. I find I benefit more from the travel cards than the cash back ones. The Capital One app on the phone is very slick. It makes using the card very convenient. Paying your bills or applying your cash back reward is very fast and simple in the app. I always thought Capital One wasn't the best credit card provider but I am very happy with them. They took a chance on me while I was rebuilding my credit and so far they have rewarded me for being a good customer.… show more

My credit isn't very good, after some small mistakes in the past, but it's not as bad as it used to be and I've been working on really improving it. I'd never had a credit card in the past, but I wanted to slowly build up my credit, so I got this card. Some of the features are really nice - the cash back is a great little plus, it adds up after a few
months. The Uber credit isn't something I see myself using, so it's wasted on me, which is a shame. The annual fee is a pain, but I understand why it's there and it's not as bad as a lot of other cards. The APR is terrible, however, in my opinion. I'm glad that I pay my statement off every month, because that APR would really kill my finances if I left anything to gather interest. It's not bad if you pay your card off every month, but if you leave a balance it could really become a problem.… show more

I got it because it was one of the few I qualified for at the time. I would definitely improve the rewards structure. 1% cash back on all purchases is pretty pitiful when compared to most of the other cards out there. I would recommend it to others who have average credit looking to improve their credit score. I started out with a $750 limit and am now over $5000. It has done wonders for

This is one of my favorite cards to use, the rewards are just a straight 1.5% cash back on all purchases without limitations or miles to redeem. You can use the cash back to put towards your total balance, a specific purchase, or request a check back. The initial no interest term was great and really got me used to using the card for all my everyday purchases. I've been able to purchase a few
