This card is great if you need a high dollar item from Radioshack. The finance options are great and the discount on batteries voids the need to go to a Sam's Club or BJ's to purchase bulk packs of standard batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V). Avoid the interest by taking advantage of the financing options.

The Radio Shack Store Card is very valuable to someone who spends a lot of money at Radio Shack. If you have a household with children, the money saved on batteries could be a handsome incentive. The interest rate is a bit high for a store card, so you would need to diligently pay it off as soon as possible. Essentially, the rewards and value are there, but it is up to you as a consumer to maximize them.

This Radio Shack store card is only worth it on two conditions. One, you must be a person that intends to spend a lot of money at Radio Shack or you need a lot of batteries. And second, you would need to know that you would pay off the balance before the interest kicks in. The interest rate is high and you would not want to carry a balance unless it was a part of the deferred interest program. If those two conditions do not describe you, you would be better off looking for a more versatile card. I like my Fidelity Investments card that gives me 2% back on all purchases into an investment account.

Here is my take on the Radio Shack store card: The 10% discount off your first order is appreciated. However a 28.99% APR is excessively high. (In contrast, my Target Redcard has a lower but still high 2%.) A 15% rebate on store-stocked batteries is not as appealing as the Shack might want you to believe.

I've had other store cards like this, it's good if you're planning a major purchase there anyway. For the 10 percent off your first purchase, and the discounted rate during the into period it's a great deal. They just give a break on larger buys, but a 28.99% APR on purchases isn't for anyone who can't pay their bills on time, it would be like a Mafia interest rate. I'd really check the numbers on other cards you can get, unless it's some item you really want from them specifically, then you could get it and pay it off with the discount and interest break on it. If you want a discount on batteries, go to a dollar store and buy them, you'll do so much better on something like a 4 pack of AA's.

The Radio Shack Store Card is really only beneficial if you are a big shopper at Radio Shack, and are looking to expand your line of credit. You get a 10% discount on your first purchase and then random rewards after that. There isn't much incentive to use it outside of your first purchase, and again, only if you shop at Radio Shack frequently. There is a flat 28.99% interest rate, and they offer no interest if paid-in-full within six months on purchases of $150 or more. To put this into comparison, the Best Buy store card offers the same pay-in-full incentive, but offers a lower interest rate (25.24% - 27.99%) and has a tiered no interest incentive. Not to mention, Best Buy offers one point for every one dollar you spend. This means there is a quantifiable reason to shop in Best Buy versus Radio Shack. Again, I have no doubt that it's a great card for people who frequently shop at Radio Shack, but I can't recommend it to someone who doesn't.

The Radio Shack Store Card is really not one of the best compared to similar store cards. The 10% initial bonus upon signing up is pretty consistent across the board with other store cards. They only offer periodic rewards with this card that are not very consistent. They have a great intro rate for the first 6 to 12 months, but after that it jumps to almost 29%! That is a terrible interest rate and quite high compared to other store cards. The only thing I like about this card, is you don't need the best credit to qualify and there isn't an annual fee. If you're looking for a store credit card that offers electronics, I think you would be better off going with Best Buy or something similar.

The overall features of this card are decent. Nice introductory bonus with the 10% off. 15% off batteries is an interesting, but still nice bonus. However, with such a limited product selection, their rewards are definitely lacking. I could find the majority of the items I would be looking for at Radio Shack elsewhere. I could check out Target, and get 5% off every purchase I make there with their credit card. Much better than what Radio Shack is offering. If you do shop at Radio Shack often, taking advantage of their financing options make a lot of sense. However, if you're just looking to make a few purchases here or there, look elsewhere.

The Radio Shack Store Card is a nice card to own. It offers a card with no annual fee, and 6 months no interest if paid in full with $150 minimum or 12 months no interest if paid in full $300 minimum purchase. There are not a lot of bells and whistles but this could be a great way to finance a large ticket electronic item. Radio Shack Store Card also offers 15% off on store batteries. This can equal out to a great deal. If you have smaller children think Christmas and birthdays. This card also has a 25 day grace period which is great.

The Radio Shack Store Card is a standard store-based credit card that doesn’t offer much in terms of benefits to the user. Whereas other store cards give a multitude of rewards, this one is really only good if you purchase a lot of batteries from Radio Shack since it will give you a 15% discount. The 10% off first purchase is nice, but hardly an incentive to continue usage. Looking at the standard rate at 28.99%, it is certainly higher than most cards, as well as the 29.95% cash advance rate that will be a burden for most to deal with. It’s nice that there’s no annual fee, but overall the high rates and minimal rewards don’t make this card very appealing.
