This is a card that can only be used at Shell gas stations. It is designed to provide convenience to people who may not be able to get approved for a general-purpose credit card.
Yes, there are approximately 25,000 Shell-branded gas stations in the U.S. You can find the nearest location here: https://www.shell.us/motorist/shell-station-locator-and-route-planner.html . Hope this helps!
The Shell Gas Card may use all three major credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian and Equifax) for approval.
That's why this card is good for people with fair credit. They can easily build their credit, without having too much responsibility, since the Shell Gas Card can only be used at Shell gas stations.
Yes, the Shell Gas Card reports to all credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian) on a monthly basis. That being said, it can help you build credit as long as you pay your bills on time and stay well below your credit limit.
I had been considering getting this gas card for several years. I like that it offers five cents per gallon off for all Shell gas purchases. I like that the card has no annual fee. It has a high interest rate, but I pay off my cards in full every month. Overall, I would recommend the Shell Gas Card.

This card initially was great when my local Shell gas stations were accepting Shell Card as cash, because in L.A., Cash price is about 10 cent cheaper than Credit. So I was getting about 15 cent off per gallon, but this no longer the case. Gas station is now taking Shell card as credit card instead of cash, so I'm only getting 5 cent off per gallon.

I like the fact that there's no annual fee with the Shell card, but an interest rate of over 24% is much higher than any card I've ever been wiling to sign up for. $38 late fee isn't terrible, though. Seems like an OK choice for a very basic credit card, as long as you're lucky and pay off every month and don't experience any fraud (they offer zero fraud protection).

This card is nothing to write home about. It's your basic gas card. There is really nothing to be gained by it that you can't get from other cards. The customer service is disappointing.

There doesn't seem to be anything too overwhelming about The Shell Gas Card. The rewards on the card are marginally better then competitors, I had a Chevron card in the past where you didn't earn rewards quite as fast. What does worry me is that they don't list "zero fraud liability" like other similar cards, and in this era of mass credit card theft that’s scary. The cards biggest benefit is that it is for Shell gasoline, the only gas station I go out of my way to go to.

The interest rate of 24.99% seems very high - it's much higher than the card I use now. With that high of a rate, it's not a problem that they don't allow balance transfers because I wouldn't want to transfer anything anyways. Other than that, I like that there is no foreign transaction fee. That's handy when traveling and would be helpful on the cruise our family has planned coming up in a few months. I also like that there is no annual fee - I would never have a card with an annual fee.

The Shell Gas Card is a pretty decent, if somewhat plain, choice for a credit card. The interest rate is in the middle of the spectrum, not high but not really low either. It's pretty easy to get one, and the rewards are limited but not bad. You can save 5 cents a gallon using this card at Shell Stations and those savings will add up over time. If you're a regular Shell customer, this card makes sense for you, but if not then you're better off searching for something else.
Compare this to a more standard rewards type card which isn't limited to one location and you can see this is a niche card for niche use.

This Shell credit card is a decent card for anyone that spends a lot of money on gas and requires at least 120 gallons a month. If you don't use that much gas I wouldn't bother as you won't get the 5 cents off until you use 45 gallons worth and if you live in the city you work you might not use that much in a month. Also I would make sure I paid my balance every month because the 24.99 % is pretty high. So all in all I would say if you plan on paying your balance down every month and use a lot of gas this would be a decent way to go, otherwise just stick to your Kroger or Walmart card for a discount of 3 cents every time!

As a long time Shell customer I can say that this is honestly one of the best cards I've ever had. The interest is fairly low, and I love that I get rewards points from my Winn Dixie card that I can use in conjunction with my Shell card, which also offers incentive programs. If you are looking to add a gas card for any reason, I highly suggest that you consider this one. My only complaint is that sometime Shell is priced more than its competitors.

The Shell Gas Card is a quality card for be able to buy gas at all Shell gas stations nationwide. The short term rewards are pretty nice with the 25 cents a gallon savings for two months. However after that it becomes very limiting with the savings offered. 5 cents a gallon savings isn't much of a reward when you compare that to the 24.99% interest rate for the card. You also have to purchase a certain amount of gas per month to earn the rewards. Other cards like Chase Freedom are better overall credit cards long term that give you 5% cashback on gas during two quarterly periods a year.
