I've been using this card for a while now, it is an alright card, I mainly use it to pay bills and shop at walmart, I'm sure there are better cards out there but this one serves my needs and overall i am happy with it.

I opened my card in 2009- and had my benefits deposited monthly (well over 1k) and today I am walking-away from ever using this card/account again. Every few years the $3 fee would get tacked onto my account incorrectly and it was always a hassle to get it removed when my deposits after a decade have been on this card. The support is awful. After showing in an email my last deposit not registering and
triggering my 1k deposit met, their technical team "found nothing wrong with the functionality of my card" and closed out the ticket. While being paid 4 days sooner was nice, incompetency with my money is unacceptable. As a SEASONED account holder of this card, take my word it is NOT worth having. 2020 is already stressful enough; these idiots will make it worse.… show more

Not a question a Statement ! Walmart sells the cards Walmart registered the cards. BUT THEN THEY DON'T WORK NOT EVEN AT THE WALMART CASHIERS and then Walmart says we just sell them, we don't refund them you have to call the company on the card. Someone stole my funds off my card, I kept getting alerts to my phone, and I’m not even in town. I’m in jersey for a funeral, and now all my money is gone. $682.00 like wth this is unacceptable I’m going to file a lawsuit, I’ve called and tried to get my money back. Our daughter was the actual card holder. She passed away on July 27, 2020 at the age of 38. Parents should never out live their children. She left behind her 15 year old daughter, who lost her father 11 months prior to losing her mother. Our daughter had a rare form of cancer called Light Chain Disease. Before the disease took her over, in a matter of 3 years, she lost her sight, her feet
and leg. Long story short, Walmart Moneycard put a block on her account.. We were instructed to send a copy of the death certificate and notarized letter. They said, 2 weeks after they received it, they would send the balance of her account in the form of a check. We overnighted the information the 2nd week of August. After not hearing anything I began to call to inquiry. I was told they were holding the money pending returning some of the money to Social Security. Social Security informed them of our daughter's death on July 27th and deposited her next payment on July 29th. I was told an investigation on the block was opened today, September 18th. We're raising our granddaughter and Social Security has already reinstated her benefits. Yet Walmart refuses to release the money because they're waiting for Social Security. They were fine until I reported my card lost 8 days, the website says 2 to 3 business days for a replacement once reported. 8 days have passed and i STILL dont have a replacement. Its been almost 14 days since the card has actually been gone and ive been without access to my funds ever since.
Spoke to customer care Monday chasing this card, asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one
would call back in 4 hrs. It didnt happen. 4 DAYS later (today) I call back. I was told 2 to 3 business days is expatiated shipping. I told them that option doesnt show when you report the card lost. the site says the card has been locked and a replacement is on its way, NO OPTION TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS is offered. Beyond telling me they cant help, they were useless and till me i must wait till the 19th for the card to come. It was reported lost on the 5th.
I explained tonight after midnight my creditors start 'trying' to pull from my account and they wont be able to, so after midnight.. my phone goes off.
I asked them to unlock the report card, they couldnt do that. I asked for a supervisor who told me the same thing, they cant help. I asked for her supervisor. She said SHE was the boss over all of them, the boss of ALL of customer care, and she couldnt help chase the new card OR unlock the old one so I could at least pay my bills??? the Supervisor of ALL the supervisors of customer care... and zero authority to do anything or help in ANY way, then had the nerve to ask, is there anything else I can help you with? I just went off and told her I'll wait for the survey to come up at the end of the call that was mentioned at the beginning of the call. she said there wasnt one, have a nice day... Click! b*tch hung up!
I currently have over $1300 in my account, no food in the cupboards, no fuel in the car to get to work tomorrow and creditors TRYING to pull for bills after midnight. They have left me high and dry, and were ZERO help, then ACTUALLY DARED to ask, "is there anything else we can help you with"????
I swear I'm seathing right now and it seems i cant do a damn thing about it!
I've put over 32K through this card this year (over 64K in two years) and THIS IS THE LAST MONTH ILL USE THEM. Green DOT has zero customer service and the tiny bit they do have arent doing a darn thing other then tell you, they cant help.… show more

Awful! I transferred money from my bank account to this card 1 week ago and uts been deducted from my bank but still waiting on it to go into my money card and if you call customer service they don't speak well, cannot understand you, I talked to 3 different people 1 lady put me on hold for 20 minutes and the last guy had dogs barking in the backround!

Had a hold deposit for a potential car I was interested in purchasing decided I didn’t want it so the dealership released the funds over 2 weeks ago and the Walmart card/customer service keeps saying they won’t release the money cause they think it’s a car rental have been a long time customer and have had my direct deposit for years with them will be canceling that

The card is great unless you run into a unknown purchase or money that was suppose to be deposited and wasn't because they will not let you talk to a human and if you are lucky enough as i was after a hour long wait you can hear them perfectly but soon as you say anything about a dispute they will say you have bad reception you'll need to call back at a better time

I am trying to cancel my wal mart money card. No option to do it on the website like there should be only edit pin or report lost/stolen. When I call customer service it says wait times are 5 hours!! I want this cancelled before I get charged another $3 fee, we dont use it anymore

The Walmart money card is the only pre-paid card that won't deposit your stimulus early. They falsely advertise that you will get your stimulus FAST and you don't. The IRS sent them my DD on 4/26 and they sent me and e-mail stating that they're "processing" it which in other words means they are holding it as long as possible to accrue interest. After having my card information stolen, I was sent a new card that won't activate. After 2 weeks of trying customer service said something must be wrong with the card so sent me a second card that won't activate. No help from customer service, no transferring to a supervisor. I'm extremely close to taking legal action to get my money back.

I recently tried to withdraw $300 off my card and the money was took off my card but i didnt get no money out the atm and now i had to file a dispute which they tells me it takes 10 days to review and i been getting bullcrap from customer service. My boyfriend said his account was deleted without telling him and hadn’t even gotten his card yet. And now his check is gonna be deposited in account he cannot access. This is some bullshit, I bet Walmart will just keep that money. Don’t get this card , it sucks and he just got it for the first time. I have used this card for my monthly income direct deposit for 7 years it longer recently had my card stolen used at a bank I have never been to and a Walmart I rarely go to they denied my dispute claim so now I can't even pay my bills and what happens when the law enforcement pull up the photos of the person who stole my money nothing Walmart card doesn't care about you

I temporarily locked my card so it wouldn’t automatically take out any of my bills to put me in the negative and I forgot to unlock it for my direct deposit to come thru so will the direct deposit try to come they my account again or I’ll have to wait till the next day to get paid like everyone else ?

This is the worst card ever when it comes to disputes. It’s good to get your money early when it’s deposited but other than that, they do not care if you were wrongfully charged, etc. I have used this card for years and am truly disappointed with them

My boyfriends card has been hacked twice in the past year which is ridiculous and very unsafe. He disputed the charges of around $700 and his disputes was denied. How can you all deny a dispute when you all know your cards aren’t secured? After reading all these reviews, I see this is an ongoing problem and “their” response to everything is call the number on the back of the card...well they are no help.
Wal-Mart should be ashamed of themselves and I see why stores are closing down right and left...bad business. Maybe you all should be more accommodating to your customers like Amazon, they are taking over all your business and now I understand why… show more

If your card gets hacked, don't expect Walmart / Green Dot to reimburse funds stolen. Even after I locked my card, there were multiple attempts to use it in various cities and states. Further evidence of fraudulent use. I contacted Green Dot several times with no response to my claim. My recommendation is to find another debit card service/provider.

This has been a horrible experience. I would not recommend this card to ANYONE.
I opened this card and sent a copy of my drivers license as requested. I made several cash deposits without issue. I made a direct deposit from my bank, with SSN, mailing information and other identity information matching. Without notice, my account was blocked, I was unable to log into my account via app, but could see via web that my
deposit had been made. I called in, and after waiting on hold for 40 minutes, I was told that I needed to call back in 4 hours because no one knew why my account was blocked. I called back a week later, and after another 40 minutes on hold I was told that I needed to call back in 2 business days. I remained on the line and asked for a supervisor. After another 40 minutes on hold, I finally spoke to a supervisor who told me that she didn't know why my account was blocked, but I needed to email a copy of my drivers licence AGAIN and also send a pay-stub proving that I had deposited the money into the BANK ACCOUNT. First, I am disabled - I do not receive a pay stub for money direct deposited into my account. She said that she could not guarantee that the cash would be released unless I could provide a pay stub. But, I would also have to wait 2 more business days. I have not had access to this card or the money deposited to it for nearly 6 weeks.
I do not have a number other than the one on the back of the card, I am angry that I have to wait on hold for hours to get to the call center; these people have no idea how to resolve my problem, they tell me to call back later, there is no mailing address to send official correspondence to, I do not have access to my money that was direct deposited, I have no recourse. I want my money back, I want to close this card, and I do not want to deal with the inept, inadequate service representatives.… show more

I never get paid early, not even 1 day early, netspend however at the same company, they paid way early everytime. They charge a monthly fee, cashing a check takes 5 days, there is nothing special or interesting about this card.

I didn't add my social onto my card. I wasn't notified that without it, I couldn't use it to for puchaces without it. I immediately called the number on the packaging and got a live op as she said there was nothing that can be done about my $ and hung up. I hate this card. I transfered money onto my card and they blocked my account until they could verify my identity. I did that. Its still blocked. I just want my money so I can close my account. Its been 2 months. The customer support reps can not help me. I'd love to talk to Green Dot but they say its not their problem. I'd give them 0 stars if I could!

They closed my account for no reason. I tried to call them to find out why and I get no one. I been a customer for years and this is how they trear customers.. I wouldn't trust Greendot Bank with my life. Walk away as fast as you can. It been nice to get a reason why they closed my account... They are scam artist in my books.
