No, the Wells Fargo Platinum isn't a charge card, but a regular credit card. What differentiates it from a charge card is that it allows you to carry a balance between months. A charge card, on the other hand, would require you to pay the balance in full each month.
It's highly unlikely to get a Wells Fargo Platinum after a bankruptcy.
Your odds improve if your bankruptcy is discharged and you have a credit score of at least 700. Otherwise, take a look at a secured card, such as the Capital One Secured.

I've had my Wells Fargo credit card since college. It's been my primary credit card ever since for a few reasons. First, I've regularly received increases to my credit line. I think I started around $600 and now it's over $8,000, which is not bad for a graduate student. Second, it's really easy to pay off. I also have checking and savings with Wells Fargo, so it's really easy to use their online banking to pay your balance. Third, I actually get some cashback rewards- whenever I hit a certain amount, Wells Fargo deposits $25 in my debit account. Finally, I've never had an issue with the card, and I've spent significant time overseas. They're also on top of potential fraud; I get prompt notices whenever I make a large purchase from overseas. The only downside is that lower rates would be nice, but I never run much of a balance on the card.

I applied for this Wells Fargo card during one of my visits to my local branch back when I was 18 years old. It seemed every time I stepped foot in a branch they were asking me to open one, so eventually I caved and opened this card. The application and approval process was simple enough. The card worked well to build my credit. I had a low limit and just paid off the balance each month. The online access was simple and the payment from my checking account was even easier. However, I don't use the card at all anymore. Compared to the other cards I have this one still has a maxed out APR (24%) even though I've never been late on a payment. Also, there are NO rewards! Seriously? Every worthwhile card today has a rewards system. Without a way to get cash back, there is no reason for me to keep using the card. Even with those flaws I still feel it is a good card and easy to use. I highly recommend it for anyone just starting out.

I applied for my Wells Fargo Credit card when I was in college. It was one of the best decisions I could have made. I was able to start building a credit rating, balance my spending better, and did not have to carry as much cash since the ATM's were very accessible in my area. I had one experience with identity theft and Wells Fargo corrected the problem instantly. They put a freeze on that account and issued me a new card. They were very professional and I must admit this was a change from what I was expecting. Looking back, I am happy I chose this card and I would never change it for anything. I highly recommend it to anyone. Also Wells Fargo is a great bank if you need a banking account. I know I will be a life long customer!

I have had my Wells Fargo Credit Card since I was 18. I had used it responsibly and practically not at all until I reached college age. Even though I was working it was really hard to make ends meet. Even so, even if I ran the balance up I was always able to pay it off. Overall, Ive had great experiences with my Wells Fargo Visa credit card and have never had any actual problems. Every time an issue comes up as in double charging, they have always been swift to act. Its also really convenient and has never been declined anywhere even traveling abroad. ATMS are everywhere, especially in California so its super accessible wherever I am!

I think I have been an owner of this credit card for probably five to six years now. I have been a member of the Wells Fargo bank for probably twice as long when I opened my first account before joining the armed forces, so when Wells Fargo approached me to apply for this card I did not hesitate. Since I’ve gotten the card the customer service has always been top notch, helping me out the one time I lost the card in getting it replaced very quickly. Another good aspect of having this Wells Fargo card is that I can manage my card along side my normal bank accounts; so I can easily make payments, see transaction history, old statements, etc. All in all I am pleased with this card and would recommend to anyone!

All I can say is WOW! This is an awesome card. I have had mine for about six months. I got it as my first credit card. Being a college student I was slightly apprehensive to open it but once I saw all of the wonderful benefits it had I was sold. Its great. It is accepted just about anywhere. I use it every once in awhile and I have had nothing but great experiences with it. It comes with the great customer service that Wells Fargo has to offer. If I ever have any questions I can go into the branch and speak face to face with someone or I can call their customer service hotline and get the same wonderful service.

I've had this card for about two years now, and I've been very happy with it. The card is accepted everywhere which makes it very convenient. The rewards program they have is VERY rewarding and has made this credit card my go to card basically always. There are no hidden or silly fees, and it really helps that Wells Fargo is super nice, I love their customer service (which I can't say about some other banks...). Wells Fargo ATM's are also literally all over Miami, so if I need cash quickly I always know an ATM machine is close by. Overall, I highly recommend this card and Wells Fargo in general to everyone!

This is an awesome card. First off, it's accepted everywhere and Wells Fargo ATMs are located everywhere. I usually go to a local brance, my wife normally goes to a grocery store(Ralph's) to use hers. Usually we are getting money from the ATM. We have never had a problem with the card, or with Wells Fargo. The rewards program was nice. The terms are excellent when compared to other cards. We've never had a problem with using it, and when there was a problem, Wells Fargo took care of it professionally and fast. Can't say the same with my CitiBank card. We had someone use my wifes' card in India(identity theft) and they handled it with minimal inconvience to us. Citibank was such a pain, and it was such an ordeal. Customer support is excellent, rates are great, and this is the card we use all the time. I highly recommend it, and also recommend Wells Fargo as a bank.

I have had the Wells Fargo Platinum Visa since 2006 and have generally been happy with it. They have raised my limit several times over the years, which really helps in this difficult economy! I do wish that cash advances were treated the same as purchases--no extra fees or increased interest rate. I also wish that the interest would be charged on the same day that the monthly payment is due, so that there is never any issue with going over my credit limit. I appreciate Wells Fargo for giving me this card, and feel that they have been very fair in their dealings regarding it.

Unfortunately, cash advances are going to be expensive no matter what card you use. That’s why you should only take advantage of one in a true emergency. If you want a low-cost way to access cash, check out the GreenDot Gold Prepaid Card.

I am particularly fond of this card largely because of its reliability. Perhaps from just a streak of bad luck, other cards I have used have presented numerous problems; namely, denied payments, or unwarranted cancellation by the card issuer. Carrying my Wells Fargo Platinum Credit Card with me ensures that, provided I need to make an unexpected purchase, I can trust that it will be carried out without a hitch. Additionally, I bank primarily with Wells Fargo, making it extremely easy to make payments at any time using their website. Payments are fast and secure, and the interface on the website is very intuitive. I have had a very positive experience with this card and would recommend it to others who are looking for a good, reliable, "no frills" card.
