TERRIBLE!!! Our mortgage was sold to Apple FCU and it turned into a nightmare that lasted until we refinanced and is still ongoing. We never understood why - but upon setting up an automatic debit payment with their system - it was never able to debit on time each month....despite setting up a recurring payment for the same time each month....Countless phone calls, zero explanation, we would be charged "late" charges due to their inability to withdraw the payment from the account on time that would then have to be refunded. This was nearly every month! When we finally decided to refinance and move to another mortgage company - despite cancelling the mortgage with Apple FCU - they "lost" our cancellation form and debited a second payment from our account (still late mind you haha). When we called to have them correct they asked if they could wait until Friday to wire the money back to us - um, what!? You essentially mistakenly debited thousands of dollars from our account and you want us to wait!? Shady company, terrible service - RUN if your mortgage lender suggests selling to this company to manage your service. RUN!!!
I have been Apple FCU member for almost 20 years and Apple has always helped me with though out the years even when I was going through bad financial time or had a bad credit where other banks would not loan me, Apple always helped me with all my banking needs. I have gotten and auto loan of $50k with Apple, high limit credit cards, and more even when I had just an average credit. Now, I have an excellent credit score of over 800 with a decent income. Going to Apple has been like part of a small community where everyone is supportive until my recent mortgage experience with Apple. It all started when I contacted one of the Apple mortgage loan managers, Robert Drake letting him know that I had been unable to reach the loan officer who was assigned to my mortgage application regardless of how often I called or even when I scheduled an appointment with her over the emails which she agreed to, but was not available at the scheduled time to speak to me. I asked Drake to reassign my loan to another loan office that I had already spoken with by calling the Apple main number. To my surprised, instead of apologizing and addressing the issue, Drake went into defending the loan officer’s actions and told me that his loan officers are too busy to take customers phone calls. He told me that his staff is too busy with meetings all days and simultaneously working with way too many customers that they don’t have time to answer my calls. Drake was very adamant that regardless of which loan officer that I work with, they will NOT be available for answer my telephone calls. He assured me that I will be mistreated with the loan officer that I requested, the same way that the original loan officer ignored and mistreated me. Furthermore, he stated that he has Apple’s senior management’s support on what he does and how they mistreat their customers at Apple Mortgage department. I have decided that I will not complete my mortgage loan process with Apple anymore. I was looking forward to purchasing my once in a life time mortgage loan with a bank that I have been doing business for the past 20 years, but the manager at Apple mortgage department Robert Drake has made it impossible to for me get my mortgage with Apple. I do not want to be disrespected or mistreated by the Apple Mortgage department. I do not want to get ignored by someone who will be processing the largest loan of my life. I will definitely not recommend anyone to get a mortgage loan with Apple till rude and arrogant staff like Drake is still employed by Apple.
